Hey guys! Are we still not allowed to say our real names on here? I'm confused with this whole forum switch up.
Basically, I was known on the old forums as Swiftmist. I've been a member of the warrior cats forums since 2009, so about 8 years. I'm 21 now, lol, and I've graduated college and am heading on to law school after taking a gap year.
When I was younger, I came on the forums a lot. I joined a lot of Clans and spent my entire summers roleplaying and making friends. (Anyone remember SeaClan?) My best friend on here was Whitestormlover, or Heirs of Durin. I don't know if she's still around anymore, but I doubt it. As I got a little older, around my junior/senior year of high school, I stopped coming on the forums. Ever since then, I'd check up on them every once in a while, maybe once a year, and then lose interest. Sometimes I would even join a roleplay for a few weeks. But eventually, I would just be overtaken by life and wouldn't have time to come back.
Well, I found out last week that the forums had been closed for a year. I felt pretty sad about it, considering that I always liked to check up and see what the new trends were and how everyone was doing. (The mate trend in particular absolutely baffled me when I saw that appear. I mean what...??) I haven't read a warriors book since the one where (spoilers?) Firestar died, but I definitely still think of the series now and again, and recommend it to any kids I know. So I guess it's nice that the community has lived on here, and I want to be a part of that, absent though I am.
I never really thought the forums would die, and I'm still curious as to why. Why would they close them down?
Also, let me know if we can say our real names yet/where we live, because I gladly will. At 21, the fears about being stalked have thoroughly dissipated. (Realistically, there was probably no stalking on the old warriors forums, despite all the precautions that screamed otherwise.)
So yeah, I'm relatively happy to be here, still kinda sad the forums closed down. Also, if anyone wants to discuss international relations theory in reference to the warriors books, I'm all ears. I was a Political Science major, with an emphasis in International Relations, and it's pretty crazy to think back on warriors and see examples of institutionalism, realism, and constructivism. Very fascinating, even though I'm sure good old Vicky and the rest of the Erin Hunter troupe had no idea the themes of IR they infused into their work.
In sum, I am an old and nostalgic soul who just wants to retain a part of her childhood.
