Once again, I'm bored and looking to RP
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I'm up for anything and everything right now, just feeling creative.
I'm happy to do 1x1 or small group, whatever works really!

//Would you be interested in a medieval rp, the twist however being it's more eastern based. As in samurais, and emperors over knights and kings.

I can't say I've ever done that, or know a terrible lot about it, but I sure would like to give it a go if you've got some ideas for like a basic plot outline?

// I'm not either tbh, all my knowledge is coming from ffxiv stormblood. xD However I do got a plot of some sort.
A great war has lasted in the eastern land of Hirogane for the many years. The reigning emperor has long reigned over the land during this entire war however the citizens had enough of this. Tired of the slavery, and forced hard work the citizens slowly built up a new army to fight the Emperor's shinsengumi. They labeled this new army the Mumei. A group of nameless warriors fighting with the people for the people. Whilst the shinsengumi is based around the noble samurai, the Mumei allows all types of warriors to fight for it's cause. As long as they fight for the people anyone is welcome into the Mumei.
This plot will take place in the middle of the war with the Shinsengumi clearly dominating the civil army and about to claim victory for the emperor. That is until a shinobi leader of the Mumei (idk if you wanna rp the shinobi, or samurai of the plot so I'mma just leave it open for now.) manages to capture the son of the emperor himself. The emperor sons also being one of the higher up samurai of the shinsengumi army. This act changes the course of the war into the Mumei's side however they still have a long way to winning this war.
The shinobi decides one of the best ways to completely claim victory in this war is not to kill the emperor's son but to turn this samurai legend into a Mumei fighter. To do this the shinobi takes the samurai prisoner onto a boat heading to a small island outpost the Mumei use for a base of operations. Despite the orders of everyone else the shinobi decides to treat the samurai like a guest instead of a prisoner.
So basically the plot from there would be forming a friendship {relationship? if you want} between the shinobi and samurai. However the samurai being well a samurai holds true to the beliefs of said samurai. Meaning for the first while they kinda of wanna die since they dishonored their family, etc. However after awhile he's get over himself and slowly starts to see how their dad is failing the people of this land and the shinobi shows him that he could help fix this.
I hope this sounds interesting ^^ If you are tempted this entire thing isn't set in stone, and you change anything you want~ Also romance can be put in the plot, but I'm not gonna say it's needed it's really up to you~

It sounds interesting, and I can see potential, I'm just not sure how long I would be able to keep it up. I'm willing to give it a go, however, and see what happens if you are I'd rather rp the shinobi, since I feel like I could probably do more with them, but can also do the samurai if you really want to be the shinobi.

tbh I'm cool not to do romance for this particular plot, as I don't really think it needs it, I guess if it ends up happening it does and that's all good I do like the idea of the Shinobi being fairly high in the Mumei group and being a female, breaking the traditions of the time period, because she just wants to help out, and gets increasingly frustrated by the silly plans the others are coming up with and has now captured the son and is just like 'honestly, look what I managed to do, I told you guys I would be able to solve this war on my own' XD

The rocking of the ship was all that kept Hisoka calm as he kept his eyes closed awaiting to be killed by the Mumei army once they took him to their base. However the shinobi woman who caught him seemed to have other plans from the muttering he kept hearing. This woman seemed to want to dishonor him even more by treating him like aguest upon arriving at the island. At least that's what he gathered for all he knew this was just a ploy for them make him feel comfortable. Giving him a false feeling of safety but what these people clearly didn't understand is the man they captured was a samurai. Falling in battle was a blessing to him, in fact it was being captured and kept alive that was dishonored his family name. So all Hisoka could think of was this was all a lie.
However as a man came walking into the room, and moved behind Hisoka his dismay grew deeper as the man cut the ropes. "Kanbara, as long as you don't make a fuss you're gonna be treated like a guest on the orders of our leader." The soldier informed and moved to the side giving Hisoka a chance to walk out the door. Hisoka Kanbara was this samurai's full name and due to eastern culture he was called Kanbara instead of Hisoka. Only his close friends, and family would dare speak the name Hisoka, and luckily the rebels seemed to follow this culture. At least the two sides agreed on some things. Kanbara rubbed his hands for a moment if his sword was nearby he might have debated on committing seppuku however the rebels knew of this samurai art so they kept his katana away from him. "The leader is in the captain's quarters go over there." The soldier ordered before turning to go back to work. This whole ploy was to make Kanbara feel at home so he'd feel welcomed in this enemy territory however this did was make Kanbara annoyed.
Kanbara himself was splitting imagine of his father in his younger days. No one could mistake them now with the emperor being of old age and rocking white hair nowadays. However Kanbara was a lean and intimidating man. He had long raven black hair that was normally tied in a ponytail however duo to the battle that occurred a few days. He had a strong chin and basically looked like the splitting imagine one would label a samurai. He was a natural born samurai look wise, and skill wise. At this current time he was wearing a black kimono that was put on him while he was still locked up. It wasn't a prisoner outfit instead it was one a guest would wear when visiting a palace, or higher citizen, Reaching the door to the shinobi's office Kanbara looked to his right and left at the guards who all seemed to be want to kill him which made since. "Shinobi of the Mumei, why have you not killed me?" Kanbara didn't wait as he spoke without going inside the shinobi's office. He would play polite for now, for while many saw his family as villains he was still going to honor his family's name even in the face of the rebels. He hadn't really met the shinobi who bested him in the war, mainly because it was a shinobi and they fought in the shadows.

[[ sorry for late reply, I forgot to check after work last night and then have been out and about all day >.< ]]
As she stood in her quarters Amaya pondered the events that had occurred. The gentle swaying of the ship gave her the perfect background for the task and it could even be said that the leader may have been almost brooding. Why that would be the case, everyone was unsure, considering the victory that they had achieved. The Mumei leader and warrior sunk into her chair, sighing as she rubbed a hand over her face. They had captured the Emperor's son and were now safely heading back to their base. To be perfectly honest, the shinobi couldn't have possibly been in a better position in the war. The Mumei fighters now had an incredibly useful prisoner and could use him in multiple ways to their advantage. Amaya, however, had decided on a course of action that had surprised the majority of the people whose side she was on, and now she was beginning to wonder if it had been the right decision, there just seemed to be way too many possibilities and courses of actions. She didn't know how this samurai would act when he received the news, but the question was soon to be answered as he came through her door.
"Shinobi of the Mumei, why have you not killed me?" He demanded, causing another sigh to roll through the small statured leader. Amaya debated how to answer the question for a few silent seconds, letting her light brown eyes scan the samurai's features as she did. Finally, she stood. "Greetings, Kanbara. My name's Amaya, won't you sit?" She gestured lightly to the other empty chair in the room, smiling politely. Amaya knew the samurai's customs about their names, and so addressed him properly, however, she had no such feelings about the issue, and so gave her first name. She figured this approach would be the best for now. Remaining civil would help further the situation along instead of hostility and demands from her.
Returning to her seat, the Mumei fighter once more settled into a watchful silence for a few seconds, before opening her mouth to speak again. "In answer to your question as to why I haven't killed you, the answer is both very simple and also very complicated." She paused for a second here, before continuing. "Simply, you will be of more use to me alive, and not just for the knowledge you could provide about your fathers forces. By killing you, I give you what you want. I know your customs and beliefs about failure and dishonour and all that," here Amaya waved a lazy hand in the air, as if encapsulating all the needed description in the simple movement, "and I don't want to be part of that." Another pause, this time stretched to almost a minute, before Amaya leaned forward slightly towards Kanbara. "Tell me, Kanbara, how would you feel about becoming a Mumei fighter," she asked.

//Oh no need to ever feel bad about being slow with me~ I much prefer slower rps over twenty posts a day.
Kanbara stood in the doorway silently for a more moments as he watched the shinobi. There kind were so different from his, and every chance he had gotten to encounter one none had been in a civil environment. Sure his father had a shinobi force that worked alongside the shinsengumi however the two forces never really acted together. Mainly because the shinobi walked amongst the shadows, and the samurai fought head on. A lot of the shinobi ways were deemed unhonorable by most samurai, the fact that they waited in the shadows to strike their prey without going head on, the fact that they used poison, and a lot more made it so the shinobi, and samurai never really got along. After a moment of listening to the woman's tone he walked over to the wooden chair that faced her desk and sat down. He was looking forward to hearing this woman's reasoning though he doubted he'd agree.
However nothing lead him to think he'd hear her finishing offer, in fact his normally blank face turned into a slight confused look for a moment upon hearing her words. The first part, her reasoning on keeping him alive was what he expected. She meant to let him deal with the dishonor, a fate worse than death. However her next words following that showed just how much she wanted to dishonor him. If Kanbara hadn't been a samurai he might have punched this woman for her words. It was quite obvious he took offense to her words.
Standing up he gazed at the shadow walker crossing his arms in a annoy gesture. "Join the rebels, the rebels who started this vary war?" Kanbara asked his words stern though he showed no true anger in his voice. It was something all samurai learned to do. Keep their emotions in check at least for the most part, though it was possible to push him. "What in your right mind made you even offer that?" He inquired raising a eyebrow before waving his hands she probably didn't have any good reason. "Lady Amaya I politely turn down your offer to betray my family, nay my country." He answered her swifty. "So what now shadowalker?" He added quickly not sure where they would go from here.

[[ haha awesome ]]
Amaya could tell how violently her question affected the samurai by the confused expression that crossed his face. She could guess, with relative ease, the thoughts that were filling his mind. Her refusal to let him die, which may have been obvious, was now being insulted even more by suggesting he should join the opposing side. Slightly surprised he remained so calm, the shinobi watched as the samurai stood. Amaya was unsure as to what she could expect from this 'honourable' warrior, and so didn't allow herself to relax as his arms folded. She didn't do anything rash just yet, however, instead forcing herself to remain calm, plastering a little smile onto her features as the samurai began to talk again. He was questioning her now.
"Join the rebels? The rebels that started this very war?" He started off, tone not quite angry, but definitely stern. Amaya considered this question, but didn't speak just yet, allowing him to finish. As he continued to question her and her motives, as well as the question, which he seemed to think was an offer, her small smile grew just a little wider. Oh how much this little samurai didn't know. After his final little prompt of 'what now?' Amaya slowly rises from her chair, placing her hands on her desk and leaning forward slightly. She may not look very intimidating, but she could certainly command a room when she felt like it. "I'm not even going to touch on the fact that you think we were the ones who started this war, but you must release that we are against senseless violence as much as you are. Something had to be changed, and so we decided it was up to us to do it." There was so much more on the topic that Amaya wanted to say, however, she knew that at this current point in time, Kanbara would not want to hear a word of it. So she left it...for now.
"As for my offer of you joining us, and betraying your family and country, well, Kanbara you're going to be mighty surprised." Here she leaned forward a little more, letting the silence stretch for a few seconds. Amaya hadn't been offering him for him to join them, oh no not in the slightest, she'd merely been wanting his opinion. Because this had been her plan, and Amaya always followed through with her plans. This shinobi had more in store for the samurai than just joining the Mumei fighters. Oh no, she planned on making him one of the leaders of her group and completely turning him to their cause and against his father. But she knew he would never willingly go along with this, and so needed a little push. "You see, my question earlier was not an offer in the slightest. Oh no, Kanbara. You will join my fighters whether you like it or not, but I can garuantee that soon you will come see our side of this fight and will willingly lead my forces against your fathers." Here Amaya sunk back into her chair, watching the samurai carefully.

The samurai's eyes didn't stray from the woman as he listened to her every word, nay every sound that came from her. The sound of her breathings to the reeking the chair would make when she made a slight movement. It was if he wasn't even inside his own body as he stared perfectly still his breathing so silent that even the most trained warrior would have a hard time pinpointing it. This was the way of the shinsengumi samurai the very definition of the samurai where the warriors selected to join it's rank. Kanbara was no different he hadn't been gifted his membership nay he had earned it like every other shinsengumi member. Many years of training, and hardship turned him into the man he was today and that man just so happened to be the ideal samurai. Shifting his gaze from the woman for a second he changed his idle stance as he lowered his arms to his sides his eyes growing from calm to annoyed only for a mere second. He didn't understand how this woman could expect him to fight her war when he was a leading commander of the other side. He had no intentions on betraying mainly for he saw no reason to. His father was a honorable man and every thing he did was for the good of the nation. Upon his father's death Kanbara would take up the role and continue the legacy of his father. So he saw no point in this woman's wishes.
Finally after a few moments of silence his gaze went back to the female shinobi named Amaya his gaze unwavering as dark blue eyes met her eyes. He was not afraid of being in enemy territory that much was clear, however on the other hand he would not attack. He deserved a death, but by openly seeking one out that wasn't done in a seppuku manner would bring even more dishonor to his family so he would continue to live. He would play it smart until he was killed, or reached his father who would surely order a seppuku to take place for dishonoring the family. Sure it was his father, but before a son Kanbara was a samurai and he would expect nothing less than to be given a honorable death upon returning home. Moving closer to the woman's desk he closed his eyes as he thought of the words to speak.
"An order." Kanbara simply phrased mainly to himself as he opened his light blue eyes again to look at the woman. It was odd staring at her for most woman in his father's army were not given warrior roles let alone leadership. However Amaya was a leader and Kanbara did his best to not show her disrespect. "I am at your mercy shadowalker so if that is your wish I will listen." He spoke the words no one probably thought he'd say to such a situation. "However I will not kill my country men so if you choose to send me out to war, expect a lose that day." He finished he wouldn't fight no if this shadowalker had the nerve to send him to war he would simply await the death brought upon him by his countrymen. In his eyes that would be quite honorable though he doubted this Shinobi planned on just tossing him out into war.
As he finished his last statement a guard opened the door to the office and gave a bow to his leader ignoring the samurai's presence all together. "Amaya we have reached the island, the citizens are awaiting to cheer for your return." He informed his gaze turning to the samurai for a moment before he turned to leave out of the room leaving Amaya and Kanbara in the office. Kanbara turned his gaze from the door back to Amaya. "At least I get to see this Mumei island for myself." He thought aloud he had heard stories about it, but never had he thought he'd lay eyes on it. Unless he was charging a fleet of ships in war. In fact if the battle at Yourshima hadn't turned sour for the shinsengumi they would be planning this very attack. However due to losing Kanbara was sure plans have changed. They would seek a rescue as they would assume he was bound to death anyways, and if they did get him back well death would embrace him so what was the point of sending a squad to rescue. Nay they would be planning another attack that would best hurt the Mumei forces. Such as cutting of their supplies they got from traitorous merchants.

Amaya could see the subtle shift in the way that the samurai listened to her, and she didn’t like it one single bit, oh no. Although Amaya couldn’t claim to have had much personal experience with a samurai of any description, she did know that she had been fighting them for quite some time. She also knew that they were highy trained, efficient warriors that were not easy to beat. And so when the samurai before her appeared to become almost completely silent as he listened to, apparently, every single noise she made, she could feel her heart beat rising. She refused to believe that she was scared of this man, because she also knew the limits of her own abilities, and the two guards standing outside her door. However, Amaya also wasn’t foolish enough to completely disregard the warrior before her. Everyone had a breaking point, and the leader was beginning to wonder where this man’s was. Considering how well he had handle things despite his position so far, Amaya was beginning to think that he may be harder to break than she originally thought.
As Kanbara’s blue eyed gaze met hers, she realised that she held a sliver of respect for this man, because clearly he was not trembling in the corner, begging for his life. Nor was he making any sort of rash claims that he would be rescued, although Amaya had no fear of that happening, considering his people’s traditions. She did however, sit a little straighter as the samurai moved close to her desk. As mentioned before, she wasn’t foolish enough to completely disregard this man’s abilities, and if it came down to it, Amaya was sure going to be as prepared as she possibly could be. To be perfectly honest, the shinobi leader was a little surprised as the samurai closed his eyes in silence for a second, presumably debating what to say. This hadn’t been what she expected, but then again, had anything that had happened in this war so far been expected? Even that, Amaya didn’t know if she could answer, as so much had happened. Even as the samurai began to respond, Amaya could feel her respect for him growing, and began to believe that maybe reason could be achieved and that her plan may actually, work out exactly the way she wanted.
As Kanbara mentioned killing his countrymen and that she should expect a loss should she ever send him out to war, Amaya nodded thoughtfully. She had expected as much from him. There was only so far you could cross the line before it was time to turn around and run back across it after all. She also would never expect that of anyone, if she was being perfectly honest. Although she was planning a response to his words, she scarcely had a second after he’d finished talking then the door opened a guard was bowing at her. Amaya could not deny the fact that she frowned slightly at the small annoyance. What was it now? She wondered, but as she was informed that they had reached the island, a whole new set of feelings washed over the leader. She was glad to be back home, even for a little while, and was intrigued to see what had changed, if anything. Other emotions included relief they’d arrived safely, regret for the ones who had not made it back, anger there was need for this war at all, and also a stubborn determination to ensure that she used the piece she had to turn the war into her people’s favour. She turned to face Kanbara, standing as she did. “You certainly will get to see the island. Plenty of it infact. I hope you’re not tired samurai, because you’re getting a tour of the town.” And with that the Mumei leader sidestepped her desk, and the samurai and hastily began to make her way off of the boat and onto dry land.

The sound of the bustling island town was the first thing that greeted the samurai as he followed the shadowalker outside of the office onto the surface of the ship. It was about morning though judging by the son the afternoon was looming on the horizon. Due to this the townsfolk were out abundance, some busy at work, and some standing near the ship cheering for the Mumei armies victory. It was quite frankly at some point a festival would be held for this was the Mumei first real victory in the war, and they even managed to capture one of the shinsengumi leaders so for these people today would be a grand day. The cheering got louder as Amaya came into view, but those smiles turned to boos as Kanbara himself soon followed. It didn't bother Kanbara at all in fact he kep his gaze on the shinobi that apparently would be giving him a tour of the town. This was odd in so many ways, he should be chained in the local goal not allowed to walk the streets as if they just picked up a guest. Just a few days ago Kanbara would be driving his blade into these people yet here he was being paraded at a quest. A half welcomed, and half unwelcome quest that is as he listened to the continuing boos.
After a while of walking Kanbara opened his eyes once more to gaze upon the town. It looked as one would expect. Unlike where he hailed from these people lived in village shacks that would one expect from farmers. Even the headquarters here was just a modified barn. Kanbara didn't comment however for he was a strong believer in it was the heart of a warrior not the places they reside. If these people had the strength of heart to fight a larger army, than Kanbara had some respect for them. He watched the few none fighters go about their normal days farming, or selling their merchandise it was like a small town. Not everyone here was apart of the army, but they supported said army with their whole hearts.
"Shouldn't you address your people, and have a guard show me the town?" Kanbara spoke up finally as he eyed the shinobi again. She did things quite weirdly, at least in Kanbara eyes though he was sure the way he handled things was weird to her as well. Most people in this position would be either crying for their lives, fighting their way out in a foolhardy attempt at being a hero, or quickly turning into a traitor. Kanbara himself took a different route the route of just being a onlooker to this entire event. He didn't fight against it nor did he go completely for it. He was just doing what the deities commanded of him. As he watched a young man glare at him Kanbara raised a eyebrow slightly. "Something tells me your choice of actions are weird, even to your own people." He commented slightly wondering why she was going this route. Killing him would raise the will of this village so it would be as productive, if not better to just kill him. Yet here was being given a position in their army, being titled a guest.

[[ long post incoming >.< ]]
Amaya breathed in the fresh air that was her home. She had certainly missed the relatively small island whilst she had been away and couldn’t be more excited to finally be back. She was half considering rushing off to find her family, when she remembered her position and her duties. There would plenty of time for that later, she reminded herself as she slipped through the flow of her fighters. A small smile was on her face as the crowd cheered for her and the other fighters, but not one to boast about the aftermath of an incomplete war, and also being relatively shy, she allowed the other members of the army to receive most of the thanks. Although she didn’t quite think it was necessary or appropriate, she did nothing to stop the people of her town from booing the samurai as they saw him. She knew her opinion was unpopular enough as it was, she didn’t want to cause too much conflict between her own people by trying to completely defend the man. He was still supporting the enemy after all.
Amaya led the way through the crowd, keeping a close eye on Kanbara as she walked, ensuring he didn’t wander off, or that none of the townspeople who were holding a grudge got too close. She didn’t like to think that anyone on this island would actually hurt their guest, but there was always a possibility, and so she had to be prepared. It would be hard for Amaya to admit she wasn’t surprised when Kanbara questioned why she wasn’t addressing her people. With a slight smile, Amaya just shrugged lightly, not quite responding. As he also pointed out that her actions were strange, not just to him, but to these people as well, her smile grew a little wider. Stopping in the shade of a tree, a little ways from the ever growing crowd of people and fighters, Amaya decided to answer his question with more than a shrug. “They aren’t just my people. They are my family, my friends and my home. We all work together in this community, everyone helps everyone.” She said lightly. “I don’t need to address them, the rest of the people who came and fought with me can spread the word just as easily as me. Just because someone had to lead the army over there, doesn’t mean that someone always has to be in power. For us, it works better that there is no one controlling person, but everyone gets a say.” It had never been a perfect system, there was no denying that, and Amaya would never try to pitch it in such a way, but by everyone being able to put forth their opinion, new options always seemed to pop up, when before, there hadn’t been any.
“Come on, Kanbara. Let me show you around, I want you to get to know your enemy a little better.” The shinobi turned and began walking again, trusting he would follow. She was planning on showing him how the island worked, and how peace almost always prevailed. She wanted him to see that there were no hungry people lying in the streets, that the goals were practically empty. She wanted this samurai to see that his father’s way of life wasn’t all good, and that there were other ways for people to live. It didn’t always have to be with one person making the final decision that affected everyone’s lives. “You may have gotten to know the Mumei through the way of the sword, samurai, but you have not gotten to know us through our way of life.” Amaya added, heading towards a particularly ramshackled looking hut. Although everyone helped everyone, there were still some people who were a little better off than others, because not everything could be shared. Pausing outside the door, Amaya raised her hand and knocked, but didn’t wait for an invitation before opening it and stepping inside. Gesturing for Kanbara to follow, Amaya gently called out for the resident of the place, making herself comfortable on one of the threadbare cushions that lay on the ground. As an older, hunched woman shuffled into view, the shinobi gestured for Kanbara to follow her example. “Grandma Chio. I hope my guest and I find you well.” The shinobi said, fondness clear in her voice as she addressed the hazy-eyed woman. It was clear she was blind, and walked with a limp, but upon hearing there was a guest, the older woman’s thin mouth curved into a smile. “And what do I owe the pleasure of company other than your own, Amaya?” she said, easing herself down to the ground with the aid of the shinobi. “He is a samurai, Chio, from the Shinsengumi army. I’m hoping you can help me to show him how things work around here. The plan is to get him to join us.” Amaya was blatantly honest with her words, knowing she had already explained her plans for the samurai to him for the most part. She also knew that this particular old lady would not be inclined to share any…explicit…details that may come to light. The old woman remained unperterbed by the news that the enemy was currently sitting in her house. In fact, she turned a blind-eyed smile in the samurai’s relative direction. “Well, samurai. I suppose we should start by asking if you have any questions.”

Kanbara stayed silent for most of the walking listening to the area around him. He knew not what to really say these people had their way of living and he had his own it wasn't that he held a grudge on them for it. In fact he only fought for that was what was commanded of him by his father. It was all he knew, and currently he was dishonoring that command by walking amongst them. Hearing her speak of family his eyes went to the people for a second watching a couple of kids running about. He had to admit he never really knew what a family was. His childhood had been spent training and mediating for his future life of a samurai. His teen years had been spent in the lower ranks of the Shinsengumi. All family was to him was respect for those who gave birth to you. He never really had the embrace of a mother's care so this was all foreign to him.
Hearing her command to follow again he did so with zero hesitation he had no reasons to not just follow orders. There was no worry of death in his mind since quite frankly he had no objections to a honorable death in fact the longer he lived the more dishonor would be placed on his family. Watching Amaya enter a house he followed inside slowly though he made sure to be even more careful with what he did when inside someone's place of living. Seeing Amaya sit down and motioned for him to follow suit he dropped to his knees in the basic samurai style of sitting, even when given a chance to relax it was clear he was a samurai. His eyes went to the elderly woman Amaya labeled as Chio. He watched her carefully quickly learning she was blind just by how she carried herself.
Hearing the woman's offer to speak questions he might have Kanbara closed his eyes. He wasn't one to make inquires he was a simple samurai send him out to do something he did it. Learning wasn't hard for him it was just something he didn't do to much since he was always out fighting a war. "Questions... I suppose I have a few." He decided to speak opening his eyes staring at Amaya then Chio again. "You speak of a world where everyone is free." He started trying to keep his words serious though something had been bothering him for quite some time about Mumei's style of life. "But say the western kingdoms come to conquer us. Half want to stand and fight, and the other half wishes to simply lower our arms for them. Without a due facto leader to decide then where would we stand in this situation?" He asked his first question staring intently at Amaya and Chio. A world of no higher ups just seemed foolish to the samurai.

Amaya was pleasantly surprised as Kanbara actually followed suit and sat. She should really stop being surprised by him at this point, but for some reason she doubted she would. Amaya found herself nodding suitably as the samurai admitted that he did have some questions. She was unsure whether or not her would, or if he would even voice them if he did. As he spoke, Amaya found herself listening intently, an answer to the question already forming in her mind. To her this situation was simple, as she had already had to deal with something very similar. How did he think they had organised forces to fight against his father in the first place? In Amaya's mind it was incredibly simple. Those who wanted to fight, would fight. The one's who didn't, wouldn't. However, the situation Kanbara had presented was a little different. When it came down to either fighting or surrendering, Amaya knew which she would do. But when there was a divided population, it became a little more tricky, and so she remained silent, deciding to let Chio answer.
"I suppose the simple answer would be that those willing could fight, and those wanting to surrender would be able to." Chio began, voicing an opinion similar to what Amaya had thought. "But, in reality it isn't that simple, families would become divided, and there could be no way to tell what would actually happen to those that surrendered. But in such a dire situation, would it be truly right to tell people they couldn't do what they wanted to?" There was clearly an avoidance of the actual question at this point. Amaya could see where Chio was going with this, and was glad she'd decided to bring Kanbara here. Maybe with Chio's wise words he would begin to think for himself. "In the situation that you are presenting, how could you ever claim that it would be right to send innocent people, with no experience into a battle, because one person believes it's time to fight? Or on the opposing, refuse to allow a population of willing people to fight for their lifestyle?" Amaya found even herself considering these questions as Chio fell silent for a few seconds. "Samurai, you have to open your mind to the possibility that blanket judgement isn't always the best thing." She added.
"The short and simple answer, is as Chio mentioned first, Kanbara. Those that would be willing to fight should be allowed to, and those that don't, should not be forced. Yes, problems would arise in our own people, and maybe, not everything would go to plan, but it would be better than the alternative. Even you know that an unwilling fighter is a dead fighter." Amaya added on. Chio tipped her head in slight agreement. "Any other questions?" The older woman asked patiently.

Kanbara stayed silent as the old woman's word came pouring out. He wasn't sure how he felt about this, however he did see how sending untrained warriors out to die was wrong. However allowing people just to do what they wanted bothered him quite a bit. This would mean smaller armies, smaller chances of winning. Even if you weed out all the untrained warriors and only had the best of the best warriors on the field their chances of winning a war slowed itself quite well. Though judging by the rebel army itself there would be quite a few willing buddies to fight so maybe his thoughts were misplaced. He wouldn't push that subject anymore since he doubted these warriors had much of a chance of winning anyways. His father was holding off sending the main force of the shinsensumi. Sure he was a higher up though he was nowhere close to the strongest force. These warriors had no idea what they were getting into. Kanbara's army where called the tigers the second tier group that was sent out when wars were lasting longer than a year. However with these warriors defeating Kanbara's forces his father would debate on sending out Kanbara's sensei's unit. The dragons, an elite set of warriors that Kanbara was working on joining.
Hearing the offer to ask more questions he closed his eyes again debating on what he should inquire about. "What's my role in this army?" He decided to just go and ask now because he realized how little he knew of his own situation. Where would he be living, would he be given a katana anytime soon, and many more of these types of questions were left unanswered at this current moment and Kanbara would slowly try to unravel them. "I also you wouldn't be in command of squad for you know I would do little to help fight my own country. So maybe you mean to make me tactician? To rely on my advice rather than the sword you know I won't use." He was clearly trying to figure it out himself before being told. He didn't know this woman's ploy if this situation was in reverse Amaya would be in chains if not dead already. His father would never place a enemy as a member of the army.
