Hello! <: I didn't get evacuated last night because they got a better hold on the wildfire, so I won't be going until tonight or tomorrow morning! Until then, we can plot more!!<3 Hmm so since you're fine with gore, and you're interested in Kyoukai no Kanata I could show you two different plots?:) One is loosely based on Kyoukai [meaning you don't have to have seen it, it's just a good thing to keep in mind c:] and one that's just anime/japan based?^_^

Kyoukai no Kanata based ;;
Okay so here's my little idea that isn't completely fleshed out, but would be really cool to brainstorm together with :) We have my girl who recently moved into the hometown of your character, who is a male, in Japan. She had been going to school with him and his friends for a couple of weeks now and while she is friendly and is relatively normal, she never really sticks around after school for all of the activities and never seems to land any real friends, just nice acquaintances here and there. Your guy, curious as to what in the world is going on, starts asking if she wants to hang out with his friends after school, at lunch, talks to her in class, etc. but she always politely declines the after school activities and hikes straight home. After some time it becomes apparent that she lives alone in a decently modern and nice house, nice and spacious with lots of things to do. But incredibly lonely. So why hasn't she tried to spend more time out of the house? My idea is that she's actually a monster/spirit hunter, who was sent to the hometown to kill a certain quota of monsters/spirits by an organization of people with the same ability to track and kill these malicious beings. Magic and weapons and whatnot can and hopefully will be involved! I was thinking maybe one day after she declines to hang out after school you guy and maybe one or two of the friends decides to ditch their original plan to stalk her and see what's up. At some point it gets a little late and the two friends are like 'dude...our parents are gonna be worried, cya!' and they hike their booties back to their house. But your character is still really intrigued and maybe has a naturally curious personality and keeps following her, only to find her killing one of these monsters/spirits? Let's talk about it!:)
Demon/anime based ;;
So my idea is that this takes place in a normal neighborhood in Japan, at a normal school, with a completely normal setting. However, what the people in the school don't realize is that demons and spirits walk among them. Disguised as normal people, as students and teachers and even janitors. Because of the tender age of high schools, because they border on the line between the pure innocence of childhood and sin-prone adulthood, demons love to consume teenagers. And what better a place to do so than right where they all have to meet? At first, the humans don't notice(besides maybe some creepy voices and the feelings of being watched?), but as time progresses, maybe some students go missing one by one? But over a shorter time span so it's not too obvious that it's something inside the school causing the disappearances. These demons, though friendly while in their human form, are malicious and hungry - and the physical form of pure evil. My femae character is a human, flesh and blood, and has a best friend - your male character. But she doesn't even suspect that he's actually a demon. The demon prince to be more exact. Your character planned on just trying to assimilate and lay low and not truly be friends with any of the students, but just put on the show or whatever so he could feed later on. But for whatever reason we could decide or leave up to chance, he actually forms a bond with my character and they become pretty cool friends. And then more than friends before she finds out or after?:)

tbh I don't prefer one over the other...but maybe I think the demon highschool plot would be a lot of fun? ^0^ Of course, it's up to you! If you prefer the first one I don't mind!<3

Perhaps the students could be on a Courage Test hosted by the school as just a fun little event they do every year? The school could have a forest attached to it where it's held? And the students could go out into the forest and the school has a bunch of 'scary scenes' or staff dressed as 'monsters' and whichever students stay in the longest until a certain time wins?:) So maybe our two characters are together and running amuck, and my character is having fun and giggling and getting spooked by the random 'haunted scenes' until they stumble across one student eating another? At first my character is spooked, but more of a 'wow this is really realistic!!' kind spooked until she realizes 'holy crap this is real im crying and freaking out now [ur character] plz help' and then the student eating the other student turns around are starts talking to yours and calling him the demon prince and how they need to kill my character etc etc.? And at first my character thinks the guy is just crazy and doesn't think that your character is a demon so they just run away and leavE?

{Ahh I started on a reply last night but fell asleep. Here it is now! I hope it's ok! :3}
Shiro Okumura. He looked like your average teenage male; around 5'8" and looking about 18 years old. The thing is however, he's a demon prince. Second only to the devil himself, he's famous among the underworld and looked up to by many other demons. But here he was-a demon prince-attending school on Earth. This was far more torturous than hell could ever be, surprisingly. Anyway, why was the demon prince here on Earth? Well, you see, he was hungry. And the most appetizing meal happened to be teenagers. What made teenagers so special was that teenagers were at the stage of their lives while they were losing their innocence as a child, to becoming a sinner as an adult. So the demons disguised themselves as students, teachers, and staff, walking among the other students and waiting for their chance to drag them away and consume them. And schools just so happened to be the perfect place to go, since teenagers were required to attend that horrid place anyway. Every now and then a student would seem to be missing, but they were never found. It was like they never existed. The masterminds behind all this-the demons. And eventually, the students were forgotten. It was a slow process, being as the demons didn't want the disappearances to be traced back to the school; but they were patient, outsmarting those simple human minds.
Shiro had pulled on his school uniform with a sigh and an unamused look. His short black hair was ruffled and messy, and he attempted to fix it with his hand with no luck. He walked to the kitchen of the house he rented for the time being, grabbing a bread and jamming it into the toaster, still dead tired. He absolutely despised the idea of having to be friendly, as it annoyed him to no end. Humans were all idiots with no sole purpose in life, so it wouldn't matter if they died. In fact, he could take over the city if he wanted to. He was always starving for souls, wanting to feed on people to soothe his nonstop hunger. But...he had to resist the temptation, as it would only bring about trouble in the 'news' or whatever. There was one slight problem for Shiro. One human girl in particular, Aiko, had taken a liking to him he supposed. They were friends, though it was more one-sided. Not that she knew it though. He played along for what seemed like an eternity, trying to gain people's trust so he wouldn't be suspected. Shiro mostly tried to lay low, but when you're the demon prince, that says otherwise. Being as he had to monitor the other demons for not acting out of hand, resist the temptation to feed until he could, and not act suspicious was a whole lot of work in itself.
Complaining aside, he was struggling to get ready in a quick manner. He had overslept just a tad, and now he was rushing to put his shoes on and grab his bag. When his toast popped up, he grabbed it and stuffed it in his mouth while bolting out the door. He couldn't be late to school, since today marked the day of the 'Courage Test'. It was the stupidest thing he had ever heard of, since he wasn't scared of anything. Shiro ran to the school, getting there just a couple minutes early before the event started. He glanced around, looking for Aiko who had told him to meet up with her before the courage test started. Might as well just make the best of his time here on Earth by hanging out with a human. He didn't want to be friends, but he never said he didn't enjoy her company. There was something about her that really just made him want to consume her, but at the same time didn't. But if she was eaten, it couldn't be helped. It was survival of the fittest in this world.
