"D*mn these stubborn bastards. Don't know when to give up!" Evelyn whispered harshly to herself as she shoved another round of bullets into the magazine of her gun, huddled against the dank wall of a small alley and hopefully out of sight. She'd been on the run for what felt like days, but was most likely a few hours. Whoever, or whatever was chasing her must of the stamina of an animal, though she really didn't have the right to complain in that sense. Seeing as an unmistakable pair of wolf ears shifted beneath her grey beanie, clearly outline by the thin material, in fact too clearly for her liking. Not much she could do about it right now though, just having escape some crazy asylum and all. They didn't quite offer her a free disguise to go with her torment for their experiments, unfortunately. Evelyn inhaled deeply in attempt to calm her fired nerves, and maybe get her dang hands to stop trembling so she could finish reloading already! Her slender, pale fingers shook as one hand cupped around the remaining ammo and she tried inserting at least one more into that wretched slit, but instead was left releasing a quiet string of profanities when the bullet slipped from her grasp and met the ground with a soft ping!
Immediately the young woman tense, her lithe figure taught as a bowstring and she dare raise her head to peer around the small surroundings before her. Eyes with larger irises than that of a human, and similarly bigger pupils searched the darkened alley space, seemingly to almost glow a fiery orange gold when catching the barest hints of moonlight filtering through the opening of the twin building tops. Her ears moved through her beanie again, swerving towards the slightest sound she detected. Evelyn held that position for a few more seconds, she would have preferred moments but heck, who has the time for that anymore? Not her. Not sensing any immediate threat, she instantly returned her attention to the gun and rammed whatever bullets she’d managed to actually load back into the handle, a slight smirk raising half her full lips when the action resulted in that comforting click. She wasn’t going to die, screw them. She tugged her beanie more firmly over her head with her one free hand, and pulled her thin black jacket more securely around her, though that did little to hide the ragged hospital gown she wore underneath, decorated with equally offsetting bloodstains, multiple in number. “Here goes nothing.” She murmured to herself, taking in one last deep breath with her eyes closed. Aaand then she was off, bolting out into the night and running along the empty sidewalk at inhuman speed, remaining as close as possible the buildings and the shadows they provided.
(Just jump in however you please! Could even be one of the men from the lab, if you wanted. ^^)
