(hello! i'll just start here. it's not the best starter, lol, but once i get a feel for the rp i'll probably have a better handle on things.)
Underneath the cool shade of an oak, Felix de Vries was reading. He’d taken the time to truly sit down on his black, equine haunches, though it was always a bit of a pain to get back on all four hooves. He sat so that his curly-haired head rested against the rugged bark. The feeling hardly bugged him.
The book was a little treasure Felix had found, dusty and crinkled on the side of a gravel road. His knowledge of written language was spotty at best, since he’d been raised away from humans surrounded mostly by spoken words, but he could fully enjoy the little engravings and illustrations inside. It was a book about humans, Felix could tell that much. He figured it was about human history, since words like “ancient” stuck out to him.
We’re related to humans, aren’t we? he’d always thought. Why shouldn’t we learn about each other?

Ok, sorry I haven't been on! Sunday's a bit difficult for me and on Monday I had volleyball all morning then we went straight to an amusement park. Today I was just too tired after volleyball XD Give me a moment tho and I'll get a starter up...)

The sun beat down on Jacks head as he jogged through the forest, following a faint trail. He had originally planned to run down the main trail but his ex, someone he had broken up with recently was there running as well and he took the first chance to dive into the bushes and head down a different trail. Turns out it was longer then he thought. Jack was planning to turn back as soon as he hit the next break in the trail, there he would take a quick break and get a drink. Running a hand through his hair he dislodged his bangs that stuck to his head with the sweat. Thankfully the tree's blocked most of the sun.
His brown hair didn't draw heat as much as black hair would, but long enough it made it slightly hot. Huffing he slowed his pace and hoped for a break in the trail. As he rounded the corner he spotted a break not too far off. That's were he would stop.

(it's okay! i'm sorry, i totally didn't see your replies, oops. amusement parks are fun, tho...now i wanna go to the one nearby, haha.)
Felix’s ears, pointed and tipped with black, swiveled to face the source of a nearby noise. He cocked his head. He recognized the lighter, two-beat gait of a human being, not of another centaur or some wild creature.
And he was curious about people, of course, but wary. The last he’d heard, the people in the town nearby hadn’t seen creatures like him before, and when they did, they responded with fear or anger. He got to his four feet and stepped back a few paces, so he could peer from behind the tree at the nearby path. Hanging in one hand was the book he’d found.

Very true :3) He had to run for perhaps a minute to two before he entered the open area. Huffing he shook his head and looked around, moving to lean against a tree near the trail. Unhooking his water bottle from the small bag that wrapped around his waist he took a long drink, savoring the still cold water. Once finished he closed the top and dropped it back. Looking around her wondered where he was, this was not a part of the forest he had seen before. Taking out his phone he snapped a few pictures. It looked like animals passed through it, there was bent grass and some prints of a couple different animals.

That human was getting closer, now. Felix spotted them a ways away, eyes wide with curiosity. People wore clothing often, he knew, but centaurs like him rarely laid cloth on their bodies, besides that to shield from sun, or wrapped blankets to deal with the cold. He’d heard tell of armor, too, but his family and friends were too peaceful to need any. But despite the warmth, this human was mostly dressed.
There was a certain beauty, thought Felix, in the way the boy looked around aimlessly. Is he lost? Felix wondered, head cocked to one side. Surely, the centaur would feel the same way in the center of a human city, but he was skilled at navigating the forest.
Idly he scraped a front hoof against a solid chunk of ground. The sound was background static to him, but he had no idea how good this person’s hearing was.

Jack was considering heading back when there was a light scratch. No, a scuff. There was a difference. He looked around for a moment, wondering if there was a deer nearby. If there was he was surprised it hadn't run away as soon as he entered the area. Being skittish creatures and all. After a moment of looking around and finding nothing he shrugged, it must've been his imagination. Finally he stood straight and stretched, warming up a bit for the run back to the main road. He put his water bottle back and pocketed his phone.
