Dysmetropsia
One afternoon, I saw a snake. It was colored like the sun. It was the size of a gold necklace That was loose and undone.
Naturally I chased after it In the clutches of curiosity. But it just slithered, faster and faster! I was flying, probably.
The streets became so long, And myself, so short! And yet I could keep up With legs as small as forks.
Down the roads and sidewalks, I zoomed behind the snake. Its tail shrinking smaller and smaller Until it zoomed me over a lake.
Apparently I was not flying, For if I was, this would not be true. I stumbled and tripped into the pond While the snake went on and flew.
I had reached out desperately; That snake was one of a kind. But huge water drops held me back, Clogging my throat, lungs, and mind.
And now I am finally awake! But your face just seems so sad. Why don’t you believe me? Was my story really bad?
I am telling the truth! And I am not in distress! If you don’t believe me.... Well—never mind, I guess.
