Mudfleck stood silently as Chillberry finally spoke up. Guilt eating at his stomach, making him feel uncomfortable. The sudden feeling causing the ticked tabby to shift from paw to paw. Tufted ears twitching yet again, though not in frustration, twitching as a sign of how uneasy he felt at what was going on. Lionwhisker took a few steps away from him, but one glance told the Maine coon it wasn't, too, in uneasiness. After all, the first batch of words Chillberry spoke was mostly directed to the ginger tom. None of this had to do with Mudfleck. Perhaps he could leave and just let them be, let them talk things out like they'd originally planned. But what we he tell Mothstar about what all the commotion was inside of camp just hours ago? That wasn't what was needed to be worried about now. Chillberry had apologized for what he'd caused. Now I suppose, it's my turn to do the apologizing.
With a huff, the ticked tabby swished his tail, and cleared his throat before beginning, "Thank you, Chillberry. I apologize for assuming and overreacting. To be completely honest, I wasn't sure what to do. I just followed my head," Mudfleck flicked his tail towards the scratches he'd left on Chillberry's haunches, "And I'm sorry for that. I really am. And I know this won't be the first outbreak to happen within the Clan, especially after the news of the prophecy. Though I'd advise staying in past curfew from now on," He eyed the two with mild amusement, "It might save you the trouble." It wasn't till then that Mudfleck realized it was getting brighter and the faint outline of the sun was making its way up into the sky. The tom then gave a small sigh, glancing back at the two younger warriors. "Well, it's time that we get going. I'll let you two stay out here to talk.... about your situation. Just make sure you bring a mouse or two back."
Lying wasn't exactly up Mudfleck's alley. But it was best to avoid talking about what had happened than bringing it up for everyone to hear about and share their suspicions and opinions on it.
----------
Blazepaw lay sprawled out onto his side. Amber eyes wide open staring out into the camp clearing. Littleblaze would call to him any minute now. And he felt just, almost, as restless as his sister, Quailpaw. Whom lay curled up with her head resting on his flanks. Silent snores escaping her maw every few seconds. She was obviously in a deep slumber. Something he too should have been doing. But he didn't feel like sleeping. He felt a sense of betrayal. After Mothstar and Sagegaze revealed the prophecy. Ever since he heard the announcement he'd felt an unknown sense of betrayal. How could anyone turn on their own Clan. After everything they'd done for them. It just made him feel so uncomfortable. Living in the same home as someone who could possibly harm him. Unsettled, Blazepaw groggily rose to his paws. Shaking out his brown and white pelt before trotting out of the den.
When he exited the den he noticed a few cats sitting around and chatting, getting ready to live for patrols. But no sign of his mentor as of yet. He'll show up sooner or later. Hopefully, they'd do some battle training to boost his skills just in case something popped off. Not that Blazepaw was a bad fighter, the young tom was actually pretty experienced in the area. And after a few moons or so, he and Quailpaw would be warriors. All I have to do is keep up the good work.
