Ashy perked up at Grasspaw's question. "Let's see, we just came here, hmm, wasn't it a few days ago, Leafy?"
"A bit longer than that, Ashy," Leaf murmured, carefully guiding her father out of the roots.
"Right! The days just pass by so quickly, you know!" Ashy hacked so hard Leaf worried he was going to spit up a lung. "We came here from the strange dens over there to escape some pretty mean cats, you see, but hunting wild mice sure isn't like digging through some other creature's leftovers." He laughed, a little sadly. "Leaf sure could catch them, though! Way better than I ever could. Bet you it's because I'm getting old, can't learn as quickly as I used to. Legs just won't move fast enough!" He stumbled, almost on cue. "Whoopsie."
"Ash, maybe you shouldn't talk so much," Leaf said. "Save your breath."
Ashy's whiskers twitched in amusement. "Aw, Leafy here is always so worried about me, you know. Almost like she's taking care of me instead of the other way around!" He stopped suddenly. "Sorry, sorry, just needed to catch my breath," he panted.
"I told you, stop talking so much," Leaf muttered.
"I'm moving though! Plus talking sure keeps my mind off of the whole sickness deal," Ashy said, moving again. "So, little one, are you living in the forest too?" he said, addressing Grasspaw. "Yes I am I've lived here my whole life in fact. but don't talk it will just induce your coughing" he mewed with a worried look at leaf "it will also help us get to camp faster and we can get you some honey and some herbs there" he said with a little smile "I'm sure the medicine cats will know just what to do"

Silverface blinked. Did he hear that correctly. "Uh....was that a joke?" he asked.

"That's what I'm trying to figure out," Silverface said. He heard the rustling noise again and was able to pinpoint that it came from the bush a few feet away from him. Hero ok a careful step toward it.

Silverface took a few more steps towards the bush, and it rustled again. He might have reacted further, but then a mouse ran out of the bush. Silverface tried to leap at it, but he missed it and fell on the ground instead while the mouse scampered off.

DawnCloud jumped back as the mouse scampered out of the bushes and then she chuckled "Im sorry I'm not laughing at you" she mewed wiping tears from her eyes and trying not to laugh even more she mewed "But we were scared of a mouse! a mouse and we didn't even catch it" She laughed and finally she failed trying to suppress her laughter and fell on the forest floor in a fit of giggles

It took Silverface a few seconds for his head to stop ringing from the pain of falling on the ground, and then he realised that Dawncloud was basically laughing at him. He huffed. "Okay, fine, so I didn't catch it. Everyone makes mistakes! Just watch me: I'll catch the next one for sure!" he said, jumping up and walking off to try and find another mouse.

Silverface rolled his eyes. "Its fiiiiine. It's not like you weren't scared," he mewed, before randomly stopping to perk his ears up again. He could hear a very small rustling sound again. "I think I can hear something," he said, before taking a few careful steps in the direction of the sound.

Eventually, the mouse poked its head out of the bush. Silverface froze, and the two engaged in a staring contest for a while before the mouse tried to run. Silverface jumped at it again, but this time he actually managed to grab it with his paws, and quickly sunk his teeth into it. After he was sure it was dead, he dropped it and looked back at Dawncloud. "I caught it!"

DawnCloud smiled and said "Nice! go bury it and then we can keep moving" she said with almost forced happiness

Silverface nodded and quickly buried it. Then he began walking again with his nose in the air so he could smell some mice that might be hiding. "You should try hunting also," he said behind his shoulder.

DawnCloud nodded her head and sniffed the air after a little while she spotted a squirrel foraging among the forest floor she dropped into a hunters crouch and pounced but missed as the squirrel started to run she dashed after it and pinned it down and finished it off with a swift almost merciful blow

Silverface eventually found a vole eating something besides a tree. He went down into a crouching position, butt he vole saw him and ran away almost immediately. Silverface cursed under his breath before looking around to make sure nobody saw that, and then continued searching for prey.

DawnCloud trotted up to SilverFace after she had buried her squirrel "Hey SilverFace I'm sorry about what i said earlier and i know now that you don't feel the same way but i at least want to be friends and if not friends i want to be on good terms.." She mewed with a small sad smile

Silverface almost jumped when he heard Dawncloud's voice. After a few seconds though, he realised that she hadn't seen his screw up. He blinked. "Its just that.....I don't really know you well," he admitted. Also because why would anyone be interested in me? I suck. He forced a grin. "But its not like we cant be on good terms."

[For the record, the mate thing can still happen, its just that it'll take Silverface a while to get feelings for her as well XD]
Silverface nodded, and resumed searching. This time, it only took a short amount of time before he could scent another mouse. He immediately began following the scent.

DawnCloud scampered a little bit away from SilverFace she spotted a black bunny sitting in a clearing near a bush "Mouse brain" she muttered with a smirk she stalked the rabbit for a bit and the pounced and finished it off with a swift blow she picked it up and went back towards SilverFace

Silverface continued to try and catch prey, but he was only able to catch one more squirrel. He was just digging his previously caught mouse back up when he saw Dawncloud. "Good catch," he said, picking up both of his catches. "Want to head back now?"

DawnCloud picked up her rabbit and walked in silence when she reached the place where she had gotten her squirrel she dropped the rabbit and picked up the squirrel's tail and then picked up the rabbit by the scruff so she could carry both in her mouth.
( oh and i forgot to say i had her kind rush into the relationship like that because i think she has the kind of personality to do that :/ )

(Ah okay. Well it can still happen, but like I said, it'll take Silverface a little while to develop feelings for her.)
Silverface walked back to canmp, occasionally looking behind his shoulder to make sure that she was still following him. Once they were in camp, he would immediately go to the fresh kill pile and place his mouse and squirrel on top.

After she put her rabbit and squirrel on the pile she noticed some kits playing outside the nursery in the evening light she went and sat down her tail wrapped tightly around her paws and watched the kits playing with a slightly longing expression on her face

Silverface noticed Dawncloud going over to the kittens, but he didn't really pay attention to it. He was tired, so he decided to lie down by the Warriors den again and go to sleep. So, he sat down by the den and began grooming himself in preparation for rest.
