}} Intro To Keep Up The Writing Spirit {{
Hello and welcome to Wanderlust! This is a Beach Bash Topic (not necessarily a class, but could possibly be counted as an activity? Who knows...). Anyway, what this topic is about is to keep you motivated as you write all that stuff for the Beach Bash and any other projects you are currently working on. This topic does that by giving you fun, motivational writing quotes, talking to you about getting over writer's block(the horror!), and giving you advice from other fan fictions writers on what they do to keep writing. To that end, welcome to Wanderlust, the need to travel and explore. Exploring your writing talent, (giving Mint an excuse to tell you 'you can do it' about four dozen times), and setting it up so you can finish that fan fiction you've been procrastinating on for the past month. Yes, we all have one of those. To get to started (and I want to say I'm impressed you've read this far and haven't just skipped to the quotes yet. Because, come on, those are some pretty awesome quotes), I'll start with this:
Anything you write, no matter how you think it is dull, boring, stupid, or nonsense IS STILL WRITING. It is still helping you making the next best seller (or the next Curse, Silence, Fear, & Love, How the Mighty Fall, or that other awesome and amazing fan fiction that you like. What ever that one is...) We all write that boring and dull stuff. It's just a milestone in the road of adverbs (Mint makes awful jokes in the intro, for example). Your writing will improve or change and develop into something lovely. Then next year, four years from now, you can get out that story you thought was trash and rewrite it. (Unwritten rule one for writers: Save everything you write. Ten years from now, you will regret it if you didn't. You wont have anything to laugh at because you've improved so much now.) Anyway, to summarize: Never give up. Keep writing, even if you hit a few potholes. Just keep writing.

Keeping Motivated~~
1. Write what you want to read 2. Listen to music that fits the mood you want to write about 3. Talk to other authors and interested parties about writing 4. Set deadlines for yourself 5. Sit down and just write 6. Read when you don't feel like writing 7. Go outside or go inside. Change around the places you write, so you aren't always in the same atmosphere 8. Tell yourself you are a good writer 9. Write a sticky note or other form of reminder to write 10. Think like you were your character. Put yourself in their shoes. Try and get as close as you can to understanding them 11. Draw when you can't write (as suggested by Wanderer) 12. Co-write! When you are have someone else writing beside you that heightens motivation 13. When you want to develop a character and history, RP can sometimes help

That's awful and deadly thing. The story killer. The aggravating little voice that tells you 'I want to write, but caaaaan't'. Writer's Block
Here's how others deal with it:
☣Sнα∂σωƒα¢є☣ I've had a couple of really bad writer's blocks. The first thing to do is to have patience. If you try to force yourself to push through it you will only get frustrated. Once you calm down, get up, and get away from the place you are writing. Go outside. Stare at nature. Observe every little thing around you. The bug crawling through the grass, the ant struggling to haul its spoils back to its nest, the bird dive bombing your cat who is trying to eat its eggs. Just watch. Breathe in the smell of the world. Feel the heat or the cold or the rain sear your skin. Something about being in a quiet place surrounded by other creatures having their own seemingly insignificant struggles makes my brain...awaken. Its both calming and inspirational. This is what I do now whenever I have really bad writers block.

This is on hold until I return from vacation. If anyone has any advice on getting over their own case of writer's block, please post it and I'll add it when I get back. Any other advise would be appreciated.

It was awesome, up to the point I got a cold. Still have it and I feel bleck. But I got a lot of things done (what I consider relaxation time. I got to read, write, and draw.) It was still pretty good, even with this annoying cough.

Well, I'm glad you had fun, despite the cold! Holidays are always amazing <3 Ah, how nice! I've been reading a bit lately, which is super exciting (I found a book I haven't read yet by one of my favourite authors in the study) and finally nailed down a design for an important character (her not having one I was happy with bugged me for ages, but I'm happy now).

Yes, yes they are. Oh? What author? And that's good! I always like when those pieces for a character design finally come together.

What was your favourite part?
Nora Roberts. She writes crime fiction. Ah, it feels so good! Previously I'd drawn her on the slender side, with a kinda mild personality, which ended up completely contradicting her backstory. Now she's a lot curvier, muscly as heck and her design finally fits her personality.

Getting to finish my animation. And the ice cream was pretty good too. :3 I remember you said you liked Nora Roberts! I still can't remember if I've read one of her books or not, actually. Oooo! Can't wait to see her.
