OakClan
Clan of the Mountains

History:
The Clan was started by two loners: Oak and Talon. The two were best friends and had even joined a clan briefly before they were chased out for being 'non-full blooded clanners'. Seeking protection they slowly gathered cats they encountered and continued moving on through the forests and valleys they finally came across their home: a forested mountain side. Oak, by that point, had become the leader of the group. He did not originally like the idea of the Clan being named after him, but everyone else in the group wanted it, so he gave in. Oak took on the name of Oakstar and took Talon as his deputy and gave him the name of Talonheart. The clan grew, slow but steady to the strength it is now.
Now it is four leaders since Oakstar's reign, and two generations have past. Oakclan still lives on that same mountainside, and while they are wary of loners and rogues, they know where they started and grant each loner and rogue a chance to prove themselves if they do wish to be part of OakClan.

Rules:
1. Obey the Warrior Code
2. Obey all OakClan Rules (They have their own rules along with the Warrior Code)
3. Please try to keep Genders even. You can have as many characters as you want but please try to keep genders somewhat even (no 4males to 20 shecat ratios please)
4. Please post at least 1 paragraph per post (4sentences) as it is hard to respond to just one liners
5. All site rules apply
6. No explict birthing/mating fadein/out as needed
7. Gore is accepted AS long as it is not over excessive keep it acceptable to all ages.

11. If you are in a high position you must post AT LEAST 3 times per day.


Warrior Code:
1. Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
2. Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.
3. Elders, queens, and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders. If any warrior or apprentice is sick or injured, they may eat while the elders, queens, and kits are eating.
4. Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
5. A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
6. Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
7. A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
8. The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies, retires or is exiled.
9. After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.
10. Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
12. No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from a different Clan.
13. The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code.
14. An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win their battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self-defense.
15. A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.

Medicine Cat Code:
1. A medicine cat may not fall in love or take a mate.
2. A medicine cat may not have kits.
3. A medicine cat may only retire when their apprentice is ready to take their place.
4. A medicine cat shares dreams with only StarClan.
5. A medicine cat may only discuss dreams, prophecies, etc. with their leader or other medicine cats at the monthly meeting; dreams of an otherwise prophetic nature should not be disclosed to any outside parties, or any other cats in the Clan.


OakClan Code:
1. Cats born in Clan may not judge another cat permitted to prove themselves to become a warrior
2. If there is rising tension between two cats, a 'controlled' fight will be held between the two cats in the clearing with the clan present. The two may not kill, however the first to sustain serious injury is the 'loser'. The leader  or deputy announces the winner and the fight is over.
3. No cat, other than the two fighting, may interfer with the 'controlled' fight. As no cat will be permitted to recieve a fatal injury.
4. Medicine cats are not permitted to have kits. In doing so will result in exile, no exeptions.
