Hey there.
I'm looking to get back into active roleplaying. Unfortunately, I'm still in classes until the end of June, so I can't spend hours replying. But I can certainly churn out a few replies a day. I'm hoping for semi-literate partners, but I'm not going to be too picky. This is designed to be a long term roleplay, so it's understandable if someone goes through a dry spell every now and again.
So, a little about the plot: I know it looks long, but really, this story could go in almost any direction. The original way it was designed was for one person to rp Character A/Character B and the other rps Character C/Character D. However, I'm trying to get it up to a group of four, depending on how many people are interested. There could be romance between almost any of the characters, or even none at all (I'm very much open to LGBTQ+ characters/relationships). There's also plenty of opportunities for side plots- for example, if we want a little magic in this world, Character D could be a secret mage, on the run from the government. Don't be afraid to share your ideas! It doesn't even necessarily need to be in a medieval setting, with a little tweaking.
Character A and Character B have never had good luck. They were childhood friends, their families close, living right next door to each other, sharing a farm. It was a nice, quiet life, until a house fire broke out, spreading from one house to the other. The kids were playing outside, the parents inside. They never came out. Character A and Character B only had each other. When other locals tried to take in the children, Character A and Character B learned that the fire was the work of a local arsonist, a friend of both families; they thought it would be safer to get away from the village. They became thieves, seeing no other way to live. They started stealing food from other farms, eventually moving onto bigger projects. They changed their names, and named themselves the Twins of Terror, a pair of wanted criminals who plague every city they decide to visit and have never been caught...
Until now. Years have past, and their past has been long put behind them. The rest of the city forgot that they were poor orphans, and the guards hunt them down with more vigor every day. The two decide to head south, wanting a change of scenery and hearing the tales of gold. As always on long journeys, they split up, in order to throw off whoever might be following them. It may be hard for them, but it normally works out all right. Not this time. Character A safely leaves, but Character B is captured just a few days before leaving. Out of the two of them, Character A is more dangerous in the eyes of the government, seeing as they've killed before, and Character B has not. Character A wouldn't let Character B's hands get dirty like that. Because of this, the guards decide to offer an apprenticeship as a guard over jail- besides, later they can use him to capture Character A. Character B, surprisingly, agrees- is it to save their own skin? Because they want to prove themself as more than a thief? To trick the guards and get into better places to steal things? Who knows. But Character A is long gone by now. It would be a while until they realize Character B is missing. Character B is assigned to the second in command, Character C. They train Character B, not very willingly, but the two soon develop a friendship.
Meanwhile, Character A has reached the south. It has been a few weeks, and they can't find Character B anywhere. Character A fears the worst, and wants to head back up north to find their friend. But, since they do fear the worst, Character A wants a travel partner. They find fellow thief, lesser known and quick with a blade; even quicker to accept the offer. This is Character D. Character A will pay them when the job is done. The two go on all sorts of adventures, trying to get back to the North without being caught.
When they reach North again, Character A and Character D are caught. By Character B, no less. They recognize Character A right away, but captures the two anyway. Character A is set to be executed. But it's all in the plan. Character B is going to get the two out of there. Somehow. And when they do, will Character B escape too, or stay in the royal guard with Character C?
