--------
Before the epidemic, the cats were divided into two groups: The Housecats and the Rogues. The Housecats lived with humans in warm, cozy homes. They were a very tight-knit community. Their homes were close enough so that they could jump from yard to yard with ease. These cats lived a pampered life of luxury. The Rogues, however, lived in the forest. They had to hunt for food and fight for survival. They lived in a large group led by a fearsome she-cat named Aira. The two groups, despite their differences, kept the peace. The Housecats didn't want to hunt and the Rogues had no need to venture into the land of humans.
One day, a Housecat was bitten by a savage Rogue. The Housecat turned on it's humans the next day and almost killed one of them. This disease began to spread. More and more Housecats were being bitten and then attacking their humans. But one thing about the outbreak stood out: it only affected cats. The humans left the area overrun with the infected and were forced to leave their cats behind. Aira had taken over the abandoned elementary school and was urging all the Housecats to join her ranks there. Many did, fearing their lives. But some refused to leave. The Rogues laid branches and boards across the rooftops, all leading to the school. The remaining Housecats joined Aira's group, knowing they would have a place to go if anything happened to their homes. They traveled along the rooftop pathways each day and returned to their homes at night.
But, accidents still happened. Housecats would fall off the rooftops and be left to the mercy of the bloodthirsty infected; now dubbed as "Ferals". Their numbers steadily decreased until there was only one left who didn't live at the school. A declawed tuxedo tom with copper eyes named Tuck. He wasn't of any distinguished rank in the group. He's defenseless. How could this one cat possibly change everything?
