OK WHY won't it let me do a simple SAVE on the section AFTER I wiped out the attacmenst and the code?? I get this

OMG, before I rip out my greying hair, can someone PLEASE tell me WHY I am getting an error message telling me my post exceeds the character count when I just cut and pasted the existing post (Chaps 6-10) into the new coded layout! IT WON'T let me save hours of work!! I edited out extra blank lines and spaces and it stiil won't let me repost what was there before the new layout. it all worked FINE with Section one (prologue to Chap5) and last section Chapts 11-15) HELP MEEE! I REALLY don't want to redo the entire section again becaiuse of some idiotic glitch
