Hello, and welcome to this little central hub for the Warriors: FanFiction World. I've had this idea floating around for AGES. With the forum change, I feel the wff community is even stronger and more connected than ever, and hopefully the WFFW will help with those bonds even more. Even if you don't post around the wff much, please join us and jump on into the fun! We're always looking for new blood writers to help grow our family! What is the Warriors Fanfiction World?
The concept for the wffw is simple: we as a community create a single world that anyone and everyone is free to write in. It's like a huge co-write that never stops! The community would build off one another's stories, creating more and more lore for the world, giving characters life and growing them up. Telling their stories, and stories that once were and will be. It's an entire world, anything can happen! Use one-shots to show snippets of time, or create an entire story showing a new problem the cats have to face. Where everything the community writes becomes canon, and where you can make your favorite ship into reality! This is the wffw.

The LandThe territory and surrounding areas, the Land is the stage in which most of the wffw writing takes place. This will mostly consist of the core Clans, but also extends into the wilderness (and beyond!) Temp. map: MoonClan territory: (by eph) The Clans The five core Clans that inhabit the Land, along with a description of their values and territory.
StormClan, the Clan of the Brave. Bravery is valued highly here, and cowardice is harshly looked down upon. Their territory is covered in fairly open forest. Their camp is tucked under an craggy overhang in the middle of the forest, where the bank of the hill has eroded away. This provides shelter from the elements, although StormClan cats rather sleep out in the open given the chance. There's a large hollow fallen willow that houses the warriors and apprentices in bad or cold weather, and an old fox set has been converted into a medicine cats den, small hollows branching off from this making space for the queens and kits in the wintertime. StormClan cats have a range of pelts, although greyscale is often favored. Amber eyes also is a common trait of their bloodline.
IvyClan, IvyClan cats have a more lean frame with long legs and large paws for climbing. There pelts range in many colors, and are the most genetically varied clan of them all, besides MoonClan (somewhat). IvyClan territory is a dense forest scattered with large moss-coated stones and towering trees. The forest is so thick that a cat could travel the whole territory without ever touching the ground, the camp is located in the treetops with dens weaved from branches and leaves, with the exception of the nursery with is in a hollowed tree.
MoonClan, MoonClan cats are smaller with large paws for moving silently. Their pelts are usually darker colors, MoonClan territory consists of a large pine forest. The trees often shimmer a silvery color during the night, and the well-worn paths are often covered in pine needles, an open clearing in the middle of the forest serves as the MoonClan camp. The leader's den in under a fallen tree, and the other dens are made from other shrubbery that surround a large clearing.
BreezeClan, BreezeClan cats are lean and fast, with long legs and tough pads. Their pelts are generally greys and browns, to help them camouflage with the territory, BreezeClan cats live on a rocky moor, the foothills to a huge mountain range, a large cavern in the side of a small mountain serves as the camp. A split in the top of the cavern casts starlight down onto the hidden camp below. On the clear night, BreezeClan cats sleep in the middle of the cave to be closer to StarClan.
StreamClan - Stubborn and seclusive. StreamClan would live in a thick marsh land. Scattered around are a few gnarled water oaks and cottonwoods, making it look as if it's snowing most the year. Thick-bladed grass tries to take hold wherever it can, and grows in tussock-clumps scattered around the higher latitudes of the territory. The rest is covered in mud and water, run through with creeks and rivers fed by cold natural springs that eventually all trickle into a good sized pond. The pond is ringed with cottonwoods and willows, and it is around here that StreamClan keeps its camp. Overlooking the lake rises a faint hill, one of the only places in the territory where the ground isn't always mud. It is ringed with ferns and white oaks, a large red oak standing proudly in the center. Dens are ringed around the tree and the surrounding ferns. Cats in StreamClan are often long-legged to keep out of the mud and have wide paws and glossy fur for swimming. Their pelts are usually mottled -- solid colors are more rare than patterns -- and browns and blacks are prominent. Whites/silvers are very rare. The Timeline
Not everything takes place at one time! From our own Dawn of the Clans to wars and natural disaster, each marks a bit of history for the world. The Cats
These are the key players in the history of the world. Leaders, murderers, medicine cats of the past. Traditions and Lore
On Sacred Places I also had a bit of lore idea: Since the clans are so distant from each other, and StormClan is the only central location (in which they wouldn't want all meetings to take place on their soil) the cats would actually have two sacred places to commune with StarClan: the StarStone in BreezeClan's hills (like the OS) that they'd visit during the waxing moon, and the StarPool (like the po3/oots, but on an island) in StreamClan's territory that they'd meet during the waning moon. There'd be some lore of why those moontides are what they are, so if someone wants to make an origin story that's up for grabs.
On Gatherings The gathering place would be an open hill on the border of BreezeClan territory. It'd be preferable terrain for all the cats and only StreamClan would have to commute far.

Right now, I think we'll have to brainstorm up some ideas for the clans then maybe put up some polls. I think I'll put up a 'how many Clans should there be?' poll now, we can all brainstorm some ideas, and then it'll be 'choose x' when we have the second poll up.

I like the idea of having 5 or 6, it makes it easier for stories to take place during the same time without messing up others' stories. Also, how much control will we have over our stories? Like if you write a fan-fiction and finish it. If sometime along the line you'd like to write a sequel, could you tell people not to use any of the characters or continue the story until the sequel is finished?

^^ my thoughts exactly. I had that concern as well, but I don't think it'll be that much of an issue. There'll be lots of time and if things get scrambled, we (as a community) can always chose one to be 'canon' and 'au'. And if someone would like to write using a part of a time already written, they could always PM and work together on making it work out. It is like a huge co-write; you'll have to talk and plan with others to make it all fit and work. <3

Okay, thank for clearing that up! While we're waiting for more votes, do you want to start with ideas for territories?

Mhm~ Sure, go ham. xD We'll need lots of ideas to vote on, especially if we have bunches of Clans!
Maybe follow some sort of format/pattern with the ideas: Clan name, physical traits, values, territory outline, camp outline

Here's what I have so far:
SunClan, SunClan cats are larger, with a much more muscular frame. Their pelts are usually variants of golds and browns, SunClan cats live on an open moorland, striped with shimmering rivers and sandy banks. The land is often described as golden, especially during the day when the sun casts it's light upon it, SunClan camp is located in a sandy hollow next to a major river. Then dens are made out of plants and drift wood that the cats gathered and grew.
Here's some more!
DawnClan, the cats of DawnClan have a more bulkier frame with powerful hindlegs for swimming. Their pelts are usually blacks, browns, and greys, DawnClan territory is located in an open marshland with many lakes and rivers. The land is thought to be treacherous, and very difficult to navigate for any cats who is not familiar with it, the camp is located on a dry hill with many plants that have been made into dens.
IvyClan, IvyClan cats have a more lean frame with long legs and large paws for climbing. There pelts range in many colors, but the most common is brown, IvyClan territory is a dense forest scattered with large moss-coated stones and towering trees. The forest is so thick that a cat could travel the whole territory without ever touching the ground, the camp is located in the treetops with dens weaved from branches and leaves, with the exception of the nursery with is in a hollowed tree.
CloudClan, CloudClan cats have strong muscular bodies with long legs and tough pads. Their pelts are usually Greys and browns with the occasional white, CloudClan territory is located on the side of a mountain where rockslides and avalanches happen regularly. Crisp mountain rivers line the territory and large birds like eagles and hawks fly freely, the camp is located in a sheltered valley, walled in by stone. Some dens are made by plants, while others use tunnels in the stone cliff.

☾ Cʀᴇsᴄᴇɴᴛ ☽ Coolio, I'll take that into account c; Hopefully we can get the basics down fast so that y'all can go off and start making some lore/shorts on it! That's the best way it's going to grow. <3 @madeofstarstuff Ay Twi. I think it will be, once we get it on its feet. We'll need a few better-known authors to start making shorts on it, and then it'll really take off, I think.

It'd be a really huge universe, with all sorts of fics and short stories and one shots and characters... you'd need a main page with links to a lot of them, and information about major characters i guess?

also, a few suggestions and things to take into consideration - where do they live - is there a twoleg place near by - you'll probably want a map - ignore the main page thing i put earlier bc you have that up there
things you might want to write about - how the clans were formed - do they follow the same warrior code (are interclan relationships okay? what about kits becoming apprentices at 6 moons, is it later or sooner?)

@madeofstarstuff Exactly! And sorry for the poof oops. I'm thinking we'll just get the five core Clans and a little bit of the surrounding area, then all of the other writers can go create other things. We'll have too come up with a system to determine the 'canon' line, but I'm sure there'll be nothing but good worldbuilding, and timelines are a great way to get around that. The main hub'll be here. I'll link the stories and add all the 'canon' information. lazy penguin sounds great! Looks like we'll be having five core Clans, so lots of choices would be awesome.

Mosspool - Right now, just brainstorm ideas of shorts you can apply once we get the Clans set. Even start writing some that the Clans can be filled in! The best thing we can do right now is make bunches and bunches of stories and advertise (by posting said stories, maybe with a link here?) Actually, I may make a box that can be put at the top that has the link back to here as well as a note saying it's a wffw story all in one easily copy/pastable code.

WhisperClan is the Clan of the Cunning and Wild. These cats live in a deciduous forest, filled with maples, oaks, beeches and the occasional birch. The river flows through the edge of their territory. Their camp is not far away, tucked into a natural hollow that has been fortified with thorns and bushes over the years until it is closed off from the rest of the world. These cats are good at sneaking around, having to stalk their prey in the sparse undergrowth. They have a reputation for always plotting against the other Clans, and while they do often try to take over land across the river, they aren't necessarily evil either. They have a range of pelt colors and lengths. The only real defining feature is their long claws for climbing trees and strong hind legs for jumping. Their paw pads are often soft, and they don't like travelling over rocky or harsh terrain for lengths of time.
StormClan, the Clan of the Brave. Bravery is valued highly here, and cowardice is harshly looked down upon. Their territory is covered in fairly open forest. (They would live on the other side of the river from WhisperClan). Oh and btw, since this is a world that's always growing, there can totally be more than one group of Clans, although that may be a better thing to add later. Let's do what we can with the first set before expanding outwards, though. ;D
