Thawkit flicked his ears in understanding and sniffed the air. The squirrel scent flooded his nose, but he wasn't able to determine if that meant it was upwind or downwind. Guessing, he murmured "The scent it pretty strong so I-I think it's downwind." The tom nodded. "Very good. It would be fainter if we were downwind of it, not to mention that it would have fled by now." He crouched down and indicated for Thawkit to do the same. "This time, wait until the last possible moment before pouncing, okay?" |

Dovekit blinked proudly at Snowdapple before trotting after her, past her brothers and out into the clearing. Elmkit stopped when the warrior scolded them, and he licked his chest briefly with embarrassment. While Elmkit hesitated Smokekit gave him one last whack on the head and then sprinted out of the den, laughing wildly. Elmkit blinked with surprise when something heavy hit his head, and he saw his brother run away. Growling, he raced after him. Snowdapple laughed as she watched the kits. She grabbed a ball of moss and sent it shooting after them. |

Thawkit twitched his whiskers and crouched down again. He looked up at Applepelt for a signal, as he wasn't sure exactly how to go about this.

Smokekit stopped in his tracks when he spotted the moss ball, leaping into the air and catching it in his teeth. "This time you need to dodge it!" he explained as he dropped the ball and batted it at Dovekit.
Dovekit sprang over the ball and landed lightly on her paws. Before she could turn around to get it, Elmkit had caught it and thrown it towards Snowdapple.

Thawkit twitched his whiskers and crouched down again. He looked up at Applepelt for a signal, as he wasn't sure exactly how to go about this. The warrior stayed silent, waiting and listening. When the squirrel wandered close enough, he flicked his tail, indicating for Thawkit to go and pounce. |

Dovekit yowled playfully, jumping after the ball even though it was heading right towards Smokekit. She leaped into the air, catching the moss in her teeth and then crashing into her brother.
"Hey!" Smokekit mewed, surprised at the sudden attack. He fell over, with Dovekit a heavy weight on top of him, and squirmed to try and get away.

Thawkit stood absolutely still, not even a whisker twitching. He waited patiently as the squirrel came closer, and leaped forward when he saw the animal and Applepelts signal. His tiny claws grasped onto the tail of the squirrel, and he struggled to keep his grip, as his prey was the same size as him.

"That was really good! Now, I'll show you how to finish it off. It's cruel to leave prey in pain." Carefully, so that Thawkit could see, he quickly and cleanly finished it off. Standing up, he looked warmly down at Thawkit. "You're a natural hunter. I'm surprised that you managed to hold on as long as you did." |

"Humph" Snowdapple sighed at the silly kits tumbling about. She hoped the kits would take the sign,and continue the game.

Thawkit sat down on his back legs, watching intently as Applepelt finished off the squirrel. He scuffed at the ground, embarrassment at being praised so openly. "You di-did most of the work." He managed to stutter.

Dovekit regained her balance and threw the ball at Elmkit, who was distracted by Smokekits fight to get away. The ball hit him square in the face, and Dovekit laughed when he stumbled backwards.
Smokekit jumped to his paws, shaking the dust from his pelt.
Elmkit gasped when the ball hit him, and he blinked rapidly to clear his vision.

He managed to stutter. Applepelt sat down and tilted his head at Thawkit. "Most of the work? It's not easy to catch a squirrel. They're very fast-as you've noticed. I really just did the easy part." A swish of his tail. "I'm very impressed...and proud. Good job Thawkit." |

The forest seemed silent, and when he smelled the air her could only detect very faint traces of mouse and vole. __________________________________________ Elmkit allowed himself to be prodded by Snowdapple for a few moments, before drawing away. "I'm fine," he began, "but Dovekit won't be after I'm done with her." He threatened quietly under his breath. Smokekit barely took notice of his brother's injury, but bounced lightly over to the ball. He swiped it up into the air, watching as it sailed over Dovekit's head. Dovekit cast Elmkit a quick look of empathy before heading after the ball. She picked it up in her teeth, trotting over to where Snowdapple stood. "Here. "Perhaps we should go show the workers your kill? I'm sure they'd be just as proud to see what you've done." He stood up and picked up the squirrel, happy to carry the large burden for the kit. |

Gripped with a sudden burst of energy, Elmkit leaped into the air and grabbed the ball between his front paws. As he landed, he lobbed the ball at Dovekit, hoping to get some well deserved revenge.

Applepelt knelt down and retrieved the squirrel and followed the kit back into the camp. He would let Thawkit tell his caretakers about his accomplishment. After all, it was an impressive feat for a kit. |

Elmkit lifted his chin and padded over to Snowdapple, sitting right next to the warrior and leaning his cheek against her soft fur. He wasn't in the mood to play with his rough siblings anymore, and Dovekit's mockery had made him annoyed. Dovekit and Smokekit didn't notice their brother's change of temper, and continued to scuffle around with the moss ball. ___________________________ Thawkit twitched his whiskers nervously before padding into camp, making sure Applepelt was at his side while not being too close. His eyes widened slightly as he looked around the busy camp, and his tail sunk lower once more. He spotted Poppysun sitting near the edge of camp, and he glanced up at Applepelt before walking over. "Hey Poppysun," he began quietly, "look wha-what me and Applepelt caught." Poppysun looked up from her grooming session, her eyes focusing first on the little kit, then on the warrior by his side, and lastly on the squirrel in his jaws. She broke out into a purr, "That's amazing," she exclaimed as she licked Thawkit's head, "you must have been very skilled to catch that!" The medicine cat blinked warmly at Thawkit. "I-I guess," Thawkit mewed quietly, then added quickly "but Applepelt helped me." ____________________________________________ ( Ƈσяαℓ Mєямαι∂ ღ because the last rp with Pearlkit and Emeraldkit was so long ago, can we just restart with the kits sitting in camp and your character coming in to join them?) |

Elmkit twitched his whiskers happily as he watched his siblings continue playing.
Dovekit noticed that Elmkit was no longer playing, and bounded up to Smokekit, "should we attack them?" she whispered into his ear.
Smokekit nodded, purposely throwing the ball past his sister so they would have an excuse to go behind the two cats. Once he and Dovekit were hidden, he quickly jumped onto Snowdapples back. "Gotcha!" he purred as her clambered onto her head.

Pearlkit lay in the shade of a Hawthorne bush at the edge of camp, her tail tip flicking back and forth as she searched her mind for something interesting to do.
Emeraldkit sat next to his sister, quietly grooming her flank.

Elmkit rolled out the way as Snowdapple landed on her stomach, narrowly avoiding getting squashed. He squeeked a small protest, his fur getting covered in dirt and twigs.
Smokekit continued to hang onto the warrior's head, although making sure that he didn't accidently claw her. He purred as his playfulness took over.
Dovekit jumped onto the she-cat's back, biting her fur softly and lying down.

Thawkit's ears became hot and he lowered his head slightly. He scuffled at the ground, not meeting anyones eye.
Poppysun glanced at the warrior, twitching her whiskers in gratitude. She then turned her attention back to the kit, nudging him softly with her paw. "Don't be embarrassed Thawkit, you did very well. Why don't you share your catch with Applepelt, I'm sure you're very hungry after your exciting morning."
Thawkit looked up and then nodded, flicking his tail tip against Poppysun's ear as he turned around. "C-come on Applepelt." he mewed as he headed towards the patch of grass where they had met earlier that day.

Snowdapple took a paw and swatted at Smokekit as he clung to her head. She felt Dovekit's tiny teeth in her fur and flicked her with her tail. "I'll get you two." She said as she tried to shake hers3lf free.
