Chapter one:
I groan as I woke up. I glanced over half asleep seeing an orange fox with a glowing yellow spot on its forehead. I sat up quickly in surprise.
“Hello Becca! I’m Rue! Though I’m sure you already know that!” She told me smiling.
“Rue? You mean from the game One Shot?” I asked in surprise.
She nodded to me. “That’s right and I believe Niko is here as well! Though he be older now as its been five years now. So, he be…” She made a thinking face than grinned. “He be 16 now!”
“16?!” I asked in surprised and looked around. “Where is he than?”
“That I don’t know.” She answered tipping her head confused. “I thought you could help me look for him.”
“Okay I guess.” I answered and stood up. I looked over at a mirror. I had dark brown hair in a pony tail, wearing a blue sundress. I also wore black flat shoes with white tights. I stared at my reflection with my green eyes.
“You are coming, right?” Rue asked and headed to the door.
I quickly followed her and was greeted by a bright light. I put my hand in front of my face to block the light from hitting my eyes. Once I got used to it I put my hand downward and looked around. “Are we in the city?” I asked seeing all the sky scrapers and stairways.
“That’s right. You where sleeping in the tower. I would think Niko is near by.” Rue answered as I follow her down the pathway passing stairs as we walked heading toward a large building. The door opened automatically and I followed her inside. Inside was a white wall with matching floors. Along the walls where a brown table with matching chairs. I followed her straight and we ended up at a small cafe. I looked around in awe. “I remember this place! This is where Niko ate those pancakes!”
“That’s right!” Rue said happily than leaped up onto a chair.
I followed her and sat down on a stool beside her. The bar tender turned to me and smiled. He was white with short brown hair and matching eyes. He wore black t-shirt with a white apron. He also wore jeans which was surprising for this world. “Welcome to my little café! What can I get for you?” He asked smiling.
“Uh, I’ll have a glass of orange juice?” I answered
“I’ll have a bowl of milk please!” Rue answered
I turned to her worried he would freak to a talking fox. People in my world would have freaked than kidnapped on her than who knows what else they would do.
He nodded. “Coming right up! Its on the house sense Rue is a good friend of mine.” He said smiling than went into the kitchen.
“Wait…you know him?” I asked Rue.
“I do! After Niko went home I came here often with my other friends for some food.” Rue answered as the door opened.
I turned seeing a woman with a dice for a head.
“That must be George, right?” I whispered to Rue.
Rue nodded. “That’s right. He’s friendlier than you know.”
“Than why does he wear a blue dress?” I asked.
“Cross dresser?” She guessed and shrugged.
I chuckled slightly as George walked over. “I’ll take my normal please! I’ll also take Kips normal too!” He called.
“One second!” The tender answered as he walked over with Rue and mine drinks. He than went back to the kitchen.
I took a sip of my drink as Rue licked up a mouthful of her bowl of milk.
I couldn’t help but stare at George.
“do you mind not staring at me please.” The dots on the side of his head blinked.
I blushed embarrassed and quickly looked away.
Rue chuckled as she finished her bowl of milk.
I quickly finished my juice and stood up. “Well Rue? Where to now?” I asked
“Lets head to the top floor and head to the small village where Alula and her brother live. Maybe Niko will be there with them.” Rue suggested.
I nodded. “Lead the way Rue!” I agreed and followed her out of the café and toward the elevator. Rue leaped upward and hit the button with her tail. I followed her inside than she leaped up again pushing a button. We than headed up the floors. “So sense Niko be older. Do you think he would look different?” I asked her wondering if he will still be a cute even if he was older.
“I don’t know Becca. All I know is I have a connection with Niko so I know he’s somewhere in this world.” Rue answered me and the doors open to a young man. “Rue?!”
