𝔠𝔩𝔞𝔫𝔫𝔢𝔯𝔰? 𝔴𝔢'𝔯𝔢 𝔰𝔲𝔯𝔳𝔦𝔳𝔬𝔯𝔰 | prologue!

Everything was normal.
The Fresh-kill pile was even full in the AlabasterClan camp, stocked with an assortment of every cat's favorite prey, even the picky kits who would strictly eat one food. Dawn had danced onto the camp as every cat was awaking and the guards out last night returned for some good rest. Light filtered through the thick leaves of large oak trees surrounding the large hollow that held the cats of AlabasterClan, forcing cats to awake on this beautiful, Green-leaf morning.

The AlabasterClan leader was chatting with the deputy, the clan was awake. Cats shared tongues under the warm sun and kits ran outside to play. The day was gorgeous, not even a cloud in the sky. The Dawn Patrol returned, reporting to the leader as usual, and the day slowly pranced by.

At Sunhigh, clouds danced into the sky. Cats groaned; it was a great, sunny day earlier being ruined by coming storms. The cats enjoyed their day, however, until the water started to sprinkle down onto the pelts of the old and young. Cats took shelter in their dens and cats on patrols dashed inside to hide from the horrible pour ruining the beautiful day.

The rain beat hard against the trees and dens, filtering a small amount into the hollow. No worries, this always happened. Cats living in enclosed spaces with the stars and clouds about were used to a bit of flood every now and then. Cats fell asleep to the comforting sound of rain.

The flood wasn't paid attention to until a cat was greeted by splashing water. Dens were collapsing with cats huddled together to keep warm. The water splashed higher and cats dashed for escape. Lightning flashed against the sky, thunder crashing across the horrible clouds. The water drew higher and higher, cats not used to swimming choking on the liquid substance used to keep them alive. It was killing them now, slowly filling kits' and guards' lungs alike, choking.

Lightning smashed against a tree, and it's soft leaves drew on fire. Trees collapsed to the horrible crash of the thunder, knocking cats off their feet. The hollow was completely flooded and raising higher. Few cats could escape and keep going.

Cats struggled against the rocky walls of the hollow, trying to keep their mouths up so they could breathe. It was no use as they let their bodies drift down into nothing. Yowls of horror were silenced as they drifted down into the bottom of the hollow.

The tree that had caught fire was spreading the fire quickly to the trees closest. Smoke choked those trying to swim out of the ever lasting water, and flames reached the grass. Racing for life, few cats survived.

After the horrible event was over, the few survivors left their cave in the mountains where they had taken shelter.

Jinx awoke, seeing the sunlight filter into the rocks. She coughed, her throat in horrible pain and her voice hoarse and raspy. It had been days since her life was "forever changed". She stood, and heard a loud hiss.

"Watch it!" She recognized his voice- Cardinalpaw's. She put her face inches away from his. She bared her teeth.

"Why don't you?" Jinx snarled, and without waiting for his response- left.

She blinked and tried to cover her eyes as the bright sunlight suddenly pierced her. She hissed in annoyance and repeatedly blinked to try and get used to the light. Cave life.
