» It is said that dragons once ruled the lands, the seas and the skies. They were magnificent beasts that controlled all, and yet, gave everything the order and balance that was needed.
The dragons cared for and looked after the humans that had settled onto their lands. They carved out caves for their shelter and showed them how to gather food. When the humans were freezing in the cold winters, they provided them with fire and showed them hunting tools to help them catch their prey, as they did not have any fangs nor claws to help them get their prey.
One day, the humans decided that they no longer needed the dragons. And they brought them down from the skies and forced them upon the land. The teacher became prey, and the dragons were slaughtered, one by one.
With only five remaining, the remaining dragons had decided to run and hide. Going down into the mountains and setting their feet upon the earth, they had shifted their large, magnificent forms into that of humans. And no longer were there dragons to rule the skies.
Chaos soon followed, until the dragons once again stood up and guided them. However, they remained in human form, fearful that they would be slaughtered. They stayed this way until they aged as a human, and soon saw the issue.
Taking in human children, the dragons secretly taught these humans the ways of their kind. Raised as dragons in disguise until they all soon closed their eyes and fell upon their final resting place. The words of the last dragon were that of a wish. To continue living on and coming back.
As time passed, the dragons' children soon found that they were able to harness the power of their dragon parents. These five children were born with the souls of humans, but once the final dragon had passed, their souls had mixed into being that of a human and a dragon.
Generations have been passed down this trait. Those of which are of the Nakamura lines have seemed to have that of the dragon soul within them. Though it's only a legend, who is to say that it isn't true?
Just because you haven't seen something, doesn't mean it isn't real.
