Dragons
an Overwatch Fan Fiction
"It is your duty," the words came from the elder sitting at the head of the table. It was hard for him to believe these words. But the words rang true in his head. "You know what you must do."
"I do," he said.
"Good," the elder responded and then looked at the others, his hands crossing over the other on the smooth redwood, finished and glazed to perfection. "You know it's what your father what have wanted. It's your responsibility"
The previous conversation of that morning were the only words going through Hanzo's mind as he walked forward to the garden, his hands clutching onto the katana. He raised his chin and looked down at the figure below him, sitting there, eating a bit of chocolates.
"Oh? Is someone-?" the younger male began to ask, turning around. He looked up with a bit of a surprise and then a grin took over his lips. "Hey there, Nii-san! I knew you'd come out here one of these days with me!"
He did not respond, emotions battling within his mind. Genji's smile faded and he looked up at his elder brother, blinking a few times.
"... Nii-san?" .
"My family tells of an ancient legend about two great Dragon brothers; the Dragon of the North Wind and the Dragon of the South Wind. Together, they upheld balance and harmony in the Heavens.
"But the two brothers argued over who could better rule their land. Their quarrel turned to rage and their violent struggle darkened the skies, until the Dragon of the South Wind struck down his brother, and fell to earth, shattering the land.
"The Dragon of the South Wind had triumphed, but as time passed and he realized his solitude. The sweetness of victory turned to ash.
"For years the bereft Dragon's grief threw the world into discord and he knew only bitterness and sorrow. One day a stranger called up to the Dragon and asked "Oh, Dragon Lord, why are you so distraught?"
"The dragon told him "Seeking power I killed my brother, but without him, I am lost."
"The stranger replied "You have inflicted wounds upon yourself, but now you must heal. Walk the earth on two feet as I do. Find value in humility, then you will find peace."
"The Dragon knelt upon the ground. For the first time he was able to clearly see the world around him and he became human. The stranger revealed himself as his fallen brother. Reunited, the two set out to rebuild what they had once destroyed."

Dragons;an Overwatch Fan Fiction About
Hello! I'm called a lot of things and, honestly, it changes a lot, so for the sake of the characters used in this story and for my own sake for what I'm most commonly known as, call me Momiji for this. I'm a female writer, finally out of high school.
I first found Overwatch through one of my closest friends, who was majorly into the first-person shooter game. Though I've heard quite a bit of it, I wasn't fully interested in it. But the Cinematic, officially done and canon to the story-line about two playable characters within the game, "Dragons", caught my attention in a heart-beat.
This fan fiction is what I would call a personal interpretation of the past between the said two characters within the game. Their names are Hanzo Shimada and Genji Shimada. One an archer that doesn't miss and the other a cyborg ninja that doesn't leave a trace. While both are "nerfed" down from what they're like in the Cinematic, a term that those of us that play Overwatch use for "down-grading one's power", they are both amazing in skill and deadly once mastered.
From what we know, canonly, Hanzo was told by his elders of the Shimada Clan, an assassination Clan that was the overlord of the Black Market within Japan, to kill his younger brother, Genji. Hanzo had left Genji mortally wounded, thinking he was dead. However, he was saved by the Overwatch, more precisely, an angelic scientist named Angela Zielgar, who gave him a cyborg body in order to save his life. We don't know what Hanzo did, we don't know how badly he was hurt. But behind that mask, we're able to see plenty of scarring around his face, and with Genji's Blackwatch skin, we're able to see that he has plenty of horrid, long scars around the body area he has left as human.
We know that Genji wants to reunite with his brother, but Hanzo seems to reject him completely and even seem hostile towards him, even though he was grieving and completely remorseful for what he had done to him. Hanzo had been so distraught over killing his only brother, that he left the Clan. The Clan had sent assassins after him ever since and still seem to do so to this day. And we know that Hanzo and Genji are both in the Overwatch now, though I have no idea how.

Dragons;an Overwatch Fan Fiction Prologue
"Genji, I see that you are leaving."
Turning around, he looked at the robot. His fingers intertwined and he seemed at peace, though his tone had suggested he was a little curious.
"It is almost of the day I was lost," Genji replied, almost a little softly.
"You go back every year, just to check up. Why don't you try to engage a little more, Genji?" the robot inquired. Genji seemed to be a little hesitant.
"Because he is my brother, Master. I am not the only one who has changed over the years," he said, shifting his weight a little.
"You are both brothers. It is not my quarrel and it is not my fight. Family is important, Genji. It has been ten years," the robot went on. "You know that the world is becoming more dark with each passing day. He is still your brother. You were able to find peace after all you went through. With the bond you two used to have, I am sure that you can do the most out of this."
Genji looked back to the path that he was about to head down. A soft mechanical breath was taken in, and then softly released, the click of his sheathes rubbing against his armor sounding quietly in the mountainous area.
"The Overwatch is always looking for help," the robot said.
In surprise, the cyborg looked back at the robot. But he already seemed to be moving away, silent and soft as ever. Genji looked back in front of him and started heading down the mountain, his footfalls nearly silent, even in the snow.
Traveling across Asia didn't take nearly as long as it sounds, not when you're half robot. Genji had gotten to Japan by dawn of that fateful day.
Hanging in a ally-way, unnoticed by passing people, practically just a statue, unmoving and in the shadows, Genji would wait. A passing figure made the stationary being turn his head, his throat tightening slightly.
Hanzo.
