Mostly posting this here as a warning to other forumers who might have the same experience. If this is in the wrong board, I'm really sorry.

Twice now this week I've had extra tabs open while browsing the forums, which go to a webpage supposedly offering an 'urgent firefox update'. I've checked this out, and the 'update' is without a doubt a virus. FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY DO NOT CLICK DOWNLOAD. A popup comes up at the same time saying 'you have chosen to open...' Again, click cancel on this as soon as you see it.

Mods, could you investigate if this is an issue linked to the forums/proboards? It might be unconnected, but given that it's happened to me twice on this site I thought I'd better post.

I use chrome, but I have had a similar experience in the past. If I remember correctly, it happened on websites other than this forum (or other proboards forums) as well as this and other proboards forums, so it may be something unconnected if it's the same or a very close situation.

I did this when I got pop-up adds/virus/etc. and they disappeared after about two more times.

I used to have this on other websites commonly before I got ad block, now with ad block it never pops up.
