A small silver and dark gray tabby tom sprinted through the undergrowth of a thick forest, dashing side-to-side in attempts to dodge the trees. His amber eyes were wide in terror, and he dared not to look back. Behind him was a much larger she-cat, who was letting out growls and shouts as she chased the younger tom. The tom made a sharp turn, skidding slightly, and kept running. He at first thought that he had lost the angry she-cat, but he let out a screech for help when he saw that she had made the turn easily and was still running after him.

A dark figure suddenly dropped down from somewhere above and turned, taking the little grey tabby head-on. It grunted from the force and staggered over, it's near solid black coat shuddering. "What's with all the noise?!" But before he could do much more, the sound of thundering paws against forest debris caught his attention and he was up to his paws in a heartbeat. His short coat bristled to where he was nearly twice his original size and released a warning yowl in the direction of the she-cat.

A brown tabby she-cat raced along after the gray tabby, tail bushed in anger. She snapped at his tail as he dashed around corners. She bounded ruthlessly after him, claws extended for extra traction on the ground. A ginger tom burst from the trees to come up beside her. "Got him yet, sis?" he asked her. "He'd be under my claws if I did, brother," she snapped at him. He grinned. "Bet you I can catch him," the ginger tom said, pulling ahead to try and reach the gray tabby.

The tom skidded to a halt as another cat dropped down. He glanced over his shoulder at his chasers, before diving behind the dark figure and trying to hide.

The ginger tom skidded to a halt, sniffing the air as his sister caught up with him. "Lost him, Rust?" she asked sweetly. Rust glared at her, tail flicking with annoyance. "He's down there, Leaf," he hissed, indicating the short drop down to where the gray tabby was hiding behind the other cat.

The tom trembled in fear as he heard the voices of the other cats. He screwed his eyes shut, hoping they wouldn't find him. Heaven knows what they would do to him if they did!

Rust looked at Leaf for a second. "Why are we chasing him again?" "He insulted me!" snapped Leaf. "Now come on!" She leapt into the gully with Rust following closely behind.

The black tabby charged after the little grey tabby's pursuers, cutting them off just inside the gully. "You'd better watch yourselves," he growled menacingly at the two. "Trespassing into another's territory is a great offense. An offense that isn't taken very lightly around these parts." He stood straighter, composing himself more in their presence. "I've already got the little one to deal with. I don't need two more hairballs picking at my prey."
