Now, I'm not fond with Jayfeather's behavior in TAQ, but I wouldn't say he's abusive. Harsh? Sure. But not abusive. But I don't understand why people see his new behavior as "abusive".

Abusive is too strong a word. Jayfeather's harshness is no where near Rainflower or Lizardstripe's behavior

how was he abusive? what scene are they talking about? i seriously dont remember I think it's when Jayfeather keeps on bringing Alderpaw down. I'm not fond of Jayfeather's behavior, but it's not like he's terrible with him.

Jayfeather has never been the most patient with young cats. It's really no wonder he is so impatient with his apprentice. And with Alderpaw's anxiety everything seems worse to him.

Yes, that moment with Alderpaw was verbal abuse.

I feel like that word is being used way too much and probably even misused when describing the actions of certain characters. I don't see how Jayfeather was being abusive toward Alderpaw. Harsh, yes. But not abusive. Jayfeather just has a different method of teaching than other mentors.

He's just stern.
Alderpaw is his first apprentice, and he feels like he has to be strict on him. That's just how it is. Honestly, I couldn't imagine Jayfeather acting any differently.

I do feel like the word abuse is thrown around too much- when there's plenty of other words like jerk, aggressive, touchy, snappy- even grumpy.
Now these days the characters can't even be negative without being abusive.
Not only that, but abuse is extreme. Words in the definitions: "extremely", "violence and cruelty". Jayfeather is far from that.

Nah. Jayfeather is just a big old grouch. And I think losing his powers made him even more touchy, since he was always used to be able to sense other cats thoughts/feelings. But abusive? No. Jayfeather has always been grumpy, it's not anything new.

I think he's more grouchy and bitter now for some reason, but I wouldn't say he was abusive. This.^^ I am not an abusive cat.
