Hello everyone, my name is Echowind and this is my first comic ever. I would love any feedback or advice you might have to give so please feel free to share. I would just like to thank the amazing artists Hawktalon, and Sparrow . They inspired me to make my own comic. I also learnt lots of drawing techniques from them, especially Hawktalon. I would definitely recommend reading their absolutely amazing comics. I also want to give a shoutout to ᴄᴏɴɪ﹣ғᴇʀᴏᴜs , who is an absolutely wonderful artist and person who deserves all the love in the world.
THE TERRITORY
The clans live in a valley between two mountains, one mountain is shorter than the other one. The clans have never travelled over either mountain and have no knowledge of any other territories. A large cave system exists in the tallest mountain. The shortest mountain has more flattened areas, while the tallest mountain has a steeper incline. There is a large cliff face that has a ledge where the clan leaders sit during a meeting.
THE CLANS
Snowclan: Their camp is at the peak of the shortest mountain. Snowclan cats have thick fur due to the cold.
Forestclan: They live in the forest in the valley. Forestclan cats are great at climbing trees and catching birds.
Stoneclan: Lives in a cave system in the side of the tallest mountain. Stoneclan cats have excellent night vision; they hunt in the forest part of their territory at night.

At last! I finished this monumental piece! This is the new cover. Now, I promise that Springpaw's eyes are in fact green... And she does have shading... Tinypic sorta stuffed up some of the colours... Now I didn't do the spirits on this cover simply because I didn't know where to put them. So I moved the second cover into the extra art section and copied and pasted the description. Also, the forest that the clans live in do have pines, just maybe not as many as I drew... I needed to fill in the space with something...
PROLOGUE

If its not clear the branch over Finchkit is cracking and in the last panel its snapped. Also The black cat is significantly larger than Finchkit. Finchkit is a she-cat.
The black cats name is Bumbleheart and he is the father to Finchkit.

I made this page on the same day as the first page and I was planning to post it on the weekend. Bumbleheart is the black cat in the first page, he is the mate to the white cat Cloudstorm. When Cloudstorm says "they aren't coming back" she is saying they are dead. Also Finchkit and Ravenkit are litter mates, they are about 3 moons old. The end of the prologue!
CHAPTER 1

I'm so sorry for the wait, tinypic was being naughty, took me forever to get it working again. So the green ball is a moss ball, the ones kits play with. Also in the 4th panel its meant to be a set of ears twitching, sorry its a bit vague.

So introducing the main character Springkit! She is the tortoiseshell kit that jumps on Ravenkit. They were playing a game where one cat had to retrieve the moss ball without being caught by the other. Also I tried out a new style of eyes and shading, I personally quite like it but let me know what you guys think. Also Ravenkit and Springkit are the same size and age, they are both 6 moons old. Ravenkit and Springkit are best friends.

Just realized I forgot to put highlights in the eyes and also forgot to make Ravenkit and Springkit dirty in the last page... Alright introducing Springkit's mother, Acornfur! Ravenkit looks so guilty in that third frame, he grew up with Springkit and her littermates and their mums are best friends, so Ravenkit kind of sees Acornfur as an aunt.
So Springkit's littermates are:
Autumnkit - Tortoiseshell tom - green eyes
Meadowkit - Golden tortoiseshell she-cat - lime eyes
And her father is Sungrass - Golden tortoiseshell tom - green eyes.

New page up! Sorry for the wait. Alright a a ton of new characters! Introducing the clan leader Birdstar! She is the light grey she-cat with white patches. I'm trying out a new style for the eyes, I like it a lot more and its a lot quicker to do, let me know what you guys think. It was really hard to make sure the speech wasn't covering the cats, super annoying that most of these are on the smallest fonts... Alright first naming ceremony finished! Only 3 more to go... Also the white cat emerging from the rocks has already been introduced in a spoiler, she will become more important as time progresses. 3 of the mentors are in the first panel, lets see if anyone can guess which ones they are. Ravenkit is thinking about Finchkit and that is why he looks unsure.
The white cat emerging from the rocks is Leafspirit, the medicine cat.
The cream cat sitting at the base of the rock is Sandfall.
The light brown cat with brown stripes is Adderclaw, the deputy.
The dark brown cat with a black mask and paws is Bearfear.
The grey cat is Jaggedcliff, he is an elder.
The brown cat is Coldpaw.
The white cat with golden patches is Daisyfright and the green set of eyes is Antlerfoot, an elder.
The cream cat sitting at the base of the rock is Sandfall.

I was trying out a new style of speech, and personally loving it, let me know what you guys think! Also Bearfear is massive and Springkit is a normal sized apprentice. Both Sandfall and Bearfear can be seen in the gathering scene from the last page. Ravenkit's mentor will be a new character, she is Bearfear's mate, a deliberate decision made by Birdstar so that the uneasy Ravenkit can train with his best friend Springpaw. Ooooh! I forgot to say that Bearfear and Sandfall are nodding, its a tradition for a new mentor to give a slight nod of the head as to accept their new apprentice.
Ravenpaw's mentor will be Applefrost

So on this page I tried a ton of new styles, I will definitely keep doing the fur but the shading and highlights were a bit too time consuming. Sorry for not getting this up sooner, more school work = less time for comic... Introducing Applefrost! She is Bearfear's mate as well as the best hunter in the clan!
CHAPTER 2

Who is this? A bully? Sorry guys that I've been taking so long to upload pages... I'd like to give a good excuse but... yeah. So, life has been getting in the way so pages are going to be a lot slower than usual but it should go back to normal soon. Ooh... I just realised but you can't actually see Ravenpaw's pupils in the 6th panel... They are there! I played around with new styles so let me know what you think!You guys will get to meet this new bully and his mentor in the coming pages. His design has actually changed over time, he was originally light brown with a brown mask, tail tip and paws, but neither him nor his sister had their father's tabby markings so I changed that. Also this new cat's father has been seen in one of the previous pages... Page 6 perhaps... Let's see if anyone can guess who it is!

YAY!!! I finally got page 10 up! I'm sorry about how slow page updates have been... The bully's name has been revealed! Ferretpaw! Yes, he is a grump. Okay, to clarify, it is Ferretpaw's mentor calling for him to come. Hmmm... I have a slight suspicion that there is something on this page that is a bother to draw and that I will probably avoid drawing *aggresivly stares at Ferretpaw. Ferretpaw: "What? I can't help it if I'm a tabby and you decided to draw tabbies like this!". I think I'm going to avoid drawing tabby cats from now on...Ferretpaw's mentor is actually the brother to Quietshadow, and he is a real grump.

Poor Ravenpaw... He has such a fragile soul... Good thing he has a friend like Springpaw! Wow... I managed to make two pages in only a couple of days... Ravenpaw's eye is a tad bit odd looking, something must of went wrong when I was adding effects.

Okay, so I made this page ages ago just never posted it... Sorry... On this page I tried a tone of new styles, also, Adobe released this new update that made comic pages so much easier to make! So, to clarify, the mouse is next to Ravenpaw's paw, not Springaw's, and in the 8th panel Springpaw is using her tail to silence Ravenpaw, like we would use our hands.

Last page of the chapter! So, I made this page while I was on the plane coming home from my holiday (the main reason for slow posts recently) and have tried a few new styles. I made a few changes to Bearfear's design, however, he is mostly unchanged. Oops... I just realised that I made a speech bubble rather than a thought bubble for Springpaw in the last panel, oh well... I guess it still works 'cause nobody is nearby. Also, just assume that Ravenpaw picked up the mouse after calling out to the rest of the group. And yes, Springpaw has major issues (I didn't just make her perfect!). She tends to do this sort of self talk a lot, often debating with, questioning and degrading herself and she worries about most things (practically everything) excessively. She tends to do this when she has nothing distracting her and so her minds goes wild. Springpaw desperately wants to know what she is destined/meant to be, since she believes it will make her feel valued and that she belongs (she already has these by the way), and not knowing this makes Springpaw feel unimportant. No cat really knows about Springpaw's issues, as she doesn't show them in public and she hasn't told anyone, and, to be quite frank, her bubbly and happy exterior makes it so no cat really looks any further. However, Springpaw is not pretending to be happy, she actually is! When she is not thinking she tends to forget about her problems and just enjoys life.
So, in the next few chapters the real excitement and adventure will begin, however I still haven't decided on how Springpaw and Ravenpaw should become warriors: Something heroic and exciting or just something simple. I think I will do a poll. Also, so far, the next chapter will be very short.
Chapter 2

Alright! We are starting to get to the exciting parts! Now, just to clarify, cats and landscapes that have the splotchy sparkle like things on and around them are from Starclan. Now meet Leafspirit! Forestclan's medicine cat, her first appearance was in page 6, however, she was never formally introduced. And yes, she is related to Springpaw. The glowing white eyes means that they are giving a prophesy, which will be continued on the next page. Now, I will put a list of the names of all the Starclan cats on this page in a spoiler just below.
Macadamia - Cream she-cat with one paw and her tail tip being a darker cream/light brown. Blue eyes.
Jackrabbit - Brown tom with light grey/light brown underbelly and muzzle with a bobtail. Green eyes.
Tigershadow - Scarred dark brown tom with black stripes. Amber eyes.
Blacknose - White she cat with a black nose. Yellow eyes.

BLOOD WARNING!
I think this may just be my favourite comic page so far! Sorry about taking forever to upload this page... Although, my offering of peace is page 15 and 16 together! I just noticed that I forgot to add the scars on Tigershadow's (the brown tom with black stripes) ear... Oops.. Okay, to clarify, the 2nd last panel is supposed to be the stars are falling down around Leafspirit and the last panel is supposed to be that Dappled Whsipers (and all the other Starclan cats) are disappearing. Also, I decided to change the appearance of spoken prophesies. Basically instead of having speech bubbles it's just words, I think it looks better.
So, I have decided to just tell you guys who all the characters.

So this page probably needs a lot of clarification. In the 3rd panel the ground is breaking and disappearing under Leafspirit's paws, sorry that it's very unclear... In the 4th panel Leafpirit is falling through a black nothingness and in panel 5 she has woken up from her dream. And in the last panel she is talking to herself, not to Starclan. Sorry about the terrible wording though... Well, like I said, this was the shortest chapter.
CHAPTER 3

I have returned! I am terribly sorry that this has taken FOREVER to post on WCRP... Truly, you have my most sincerest of apologies. Now, since I am super lazy (and also 'cause it would be unfair to you guys if I don't give you the same explanations) I have simply copied and pasted the description from DeviantArt (which has had these for a while now) and therefore there may been some inconsistencies. Anyway, here it goes:
Square text boxes are in fact narration, and surprise! Springpaw is the narrator! Given the fact that it is HER story, I felt that was appropriate. Also, blue boxes are for stuff like time skips. For those of you who were wondering, Leafspirit was in fact telling Birdstar about the prophecy which is why they both have such a troubled expression.
Some of you may have recognized them from previous artworks, but may I officially introduce: Coldfur, Eaglewing, Fallensnow and Adderclaw! Also here for their first debut: Swiftsky, Sungrass, Owlsight and Daisyfright! With the first show of Birdstar’s newest design, and the return of Applefrost and Leafspirit! Gosh... Why did I draw so many cats? Anyways, I’d say that it is time for a few proper introduction! (Briefer character descriptions are at the bottom of the page)
Swiftsky! Meet the kind hearted, strong and usually quiet sister of Birdstar. She is the mother to Fernkit, Goldenkit, Willowkit and Riverkit.
She is a blue eyed white she-car with light blue mask and tail-tip.
Now, since her character is still pretty underdeveloped, I’m going to be holding a competition/poll of sorts to help flesh out her character! More info on this will be posted soon!
Coldfur! This gentle she-cat is beloved by all the kits and elders alike, if you can’t find her she is probably teaching the kits some awesome moves or hanging out with the elders. She is mates-to-be with Eaglewing, and loves spending time with him. Her name comes from her unfortunate inability to develop that thick,warm coat that keep her clan mates warm, despite this, she still enjoys life to its fullest!
She is a green-eyed chocolate brown she-car with a darker brown overcoat and lighter brown front left paw.
Sungrass! Meet the father of our very own ball of energy! Sungrass is in fact Springpaw, Autumnpaw and Meadowpaw’s father, and is Leafspirit’s brother (hence the similar coat). Sungrass is a very laidback, friendly kind of guy. He loves spending time with friends and family and always has an air of confidence to him. While his exterior can sometimes come off as careless and arrogant to some, internally he is constantly calculating and planning everything to the dot.

Eaglewing! This gentle giant takes much after his uncle, Bearfear. While he is much more energetic, Eaglewing has Bearfear’s gentleness and sometimes even his quiet reservation. Much like Bearfear, this is due to so many fearing their large size, constantly expecting some cruel brute rather than Eaglewing’s bright and cheery personality.

Fallensnow! Mother to Ferretpaw and Mistpaw and mate to Adderclaw, Fallensnow is an often over protective mother hen. She is constantly fussing over Mistpaw, much to the annoyance of Ferretpaw.
A delicate sky blue eyed white she-cat with dark grey freckles.
Adderclaw! The esteemed deputy of Forestclan, Adderclaw is a strong fighter and excellent leader. His strategic thinking and kind heart make him the perfect deputy, although no-one could match Birdstar’s legendary way with words and problem solving! He is a strong hunter and warrior, and is often found teaching tricks to the apprentices of the clan. His loyalty to his clan is only matched by his love for his family. This, however, often leads to him seeming over protective.

Daisyfright! A loyal warrior and excellent fighter and story teller, Daisyfright earned her name for her gentle heart but ability to instill fear into her enemies’ hearts, or to unsuspecting kits during one of her legendary stories!

Owlsight! This massive tom earned his name for his excellent sight and owl-like mottled coat. While his sight is excellent, his large size often causes him to create quiet a wracket when hunting...

Copy Paste: So here’s the deal, since I’m going to likely be posting once a week (and will therefore hold onto some pages for a while) there are going to be some pages where I try out a new style and don’t like it - resulting in the page looking different from all my other art that I post around the same time. This page is an example of this, while I do like the idea of less panels and a dark background (around the panels), I’m not too keen on the shading or backgrounds. Regardless, enjoy!
We get to see a new side of Ravenpaw here, the one that has been nicely hidden (but always there) for a looong time; the protective part! So yeah, essentially Ravenpaw can be brave when he needs (or thinks he needs) to protect a friend or family member.

Copy Paste: Hello everyone! So, I know you guys will have noticed the abrupt change in style halfway through the page - sorry ‘bout that... Anyway, point is that this will *likely* be the style I stick to. Also, the background was inspired by KelpyART !
Just for clarification, “when you two finish having your little domestic” is used in the same way that the Sherlock TV show’s Mrs Hudson used it to describe fights between Sherlock and John - not in a offensive or violent manner.
Alright, and page 21 and 22 are in the works!

I was listening to some music when I came up with this idea! I'm so proud of it. Also, believe it or not, this was all made in adobe photoshop sketch with a few extra imported brushes (for those of you who don't know, sketch is the Ipad version of photoshop, it is, to my knowledge, completely free). #Advertisment
