After rereading Goosefeather's Curse, I decided to write a fanfic that spanned the end of the book to the his death. That means the missing warriors in GC need to be born soon. There are only four cats missing: Stonepelt, Sparrowpelt, Robinwing, and Fuzzypelt. I really don't want another incest pairing in the form of FuzzyXRobin so that means there has to be at least two new litters born.
The problem is that the famine ThunderClan had killed a bunch of she-cats and there are already a lot more toms that she-cats in the Clan at the time.
The she-cats in the Clan are:
Squirrelwhisker
Daisytoe
Fallowsong
Swiftbreeze
Poppydawn
Moonflower
Larksong
Rainfur
Mistpelt
I can rule out several right off the back. Mistpelt is an elder, so she's out. Rainfur and Larksong are still nursing their kits, so it is unlikely that either will have more kits right off the back. But Larksong wasn't mentioned to be as bad as Rainfur, so she is still a possibility. Swiftbreeze, Moonflower, and Poppydawn are possible, but they are all very young warriors. Their litters in BP seemed to be their first. Robinwing was mentioned to have a litter before Frostfur and Brindleface, but we never saw those kits. So they seem kind of unlikely. Daisytoe is mentioned to be getting old, so is unlikely but not impossible. Fallowsong was mentioned to be sick and I really think that she starts a greencough epidemic that kills off a lot of the older cats.
That leaves only one likely queen: Squirrelwhisker. (I also headcanon that she is Pinestar's sister.) I think Squirrelwhisker will have Robinwing and Sparrowpelt. The other queen was a hard one. I finally settled on Larksong having another litter right after her current one.
So, thoughts? Would you have done this differently?
