(Auh man! I don't want him to be intimidated! Although she is a little intimidating isn't she?... but she's his age, so maybe she could teach him a little more confidence?) Frostblizzard's blue eyes shined with faint empathy at his stuttering, believe it or not she used to stutter and stammer all the time too, always too worried about what the other cats were going to think of her with her parents being so important to the clan. "Sure, but there's no reason to be nervous, I swear I don't bite," she teased lightly. "Plus it'd be nice to get away from the senior warriors," She mewed with a flick of her ears, "they worry enough that sometimes I want to claw at their ears."

(Sounds like a good idea to me. He's just naturally nervous though so it isn't really her fault.)
The small tom laughed at Frostblizzard's words, trying to force himself to ease up a bit. They were Clanmates after all, so there was nothing for him to be afraid of. Shadowpelt just wanted to make himself of some value to the Clan. "A-alright Frostblizzard. Let's get going then." Like before he spoke a bit more slowly and even softer than usual, but managed to control his stutter better. Shadowpelt started towards the pine forest, looking over his shoulder to make sure Frostblizzard was there.

Frostblizzard trotted alongside him, her pelt started to go near invisible with the lightly falling snow that slowly covered up the gray of her fur, only her blue eyes were easily visible against the white Snow Fields. "So are we hunting here or the Pine Forest?" She asked as she watched a rabbit scamper away from them, letting Shadowpelt take the reigns to the patrol. (How strong is Shadowpelt's ice and snow paths? Frostblizzard could teach him to harness it for hunting and fighting if you'd like! )

(Pretty weak, so that would definitely work.)
"P-pine forest. That's where I thought w-we should go." Although he was light on his feat and naturally stealthy, he found himself feeling rather envious of Frostblizzard's lighter pelt. As sneaky as he could try and be, there was no denying the fact that he stuck out pretty terribly in the snow. Which meant he stuck out in pretty much the entire territory. Luckily, the falling snow helped to cover up his black fur a bit. He slowed to a stop and turned to face Frostblizzard, opening his mouth to speak. After a moment of silence he shut it again, unable to find the words he was looking for. After briefly licking down his chest fur, Shadowpelt continued.

Frostblizzard pretended to have not noticed his blunder, "Good choice, there's only rabbits and mice over here in the Snowfields. What're you hoping to catch?" She kept padding alongside him, her tail leaving a track in the snow so they could easily find their trail back if they wanted to travel back overground. (Once they get close to the Pine Forest I can have Frostblizzard try and catch an eagle (she'll miss for sure) using the ice and snow pathways as platforms. How does that sound?)

(Sounds good to me. If you want I could bring in the loner I made at some point to mess with them.)
Shadowpelt grumbled softly as he realized his mistake. Well, it wasn't too late to fix it, he just needed to start heading towards the Pine Forest. "H-honestly, it doesn't really m-matter to me what we catch. Feeding the C-clan is the important part after all." This could certainly be going better, but it could technically be going worse. As long as they brought something back to camp Shadowpelt would feel pretty good about this whole thing.

Frostblizzard's ears twitched as she saw the pine trees of the forest start to come into view, "maybe so, but it would be fun to catch an eagle or a hawk." As if on cue, the air rang with an eagle call and Froztblizzard stiffened before she knocked Shadowpelt over into the snow to hide his black pelt. Once the black fur of the tom was hidden, she ran away a good distance away from Shadowpelt before she turned around and bunched her muscles together for a high leap. The moment her paws left the the ground, a thin platform of ice shimmered into view where she would land, which she did a moment later. After a few more platforms Frostblizzard leaped for the eagle. But, she timed the leap wrong and her claws barely skimmed the eagle's feathers before she fell and landed in a snowdrift in a heap, disappearing beneath the snow. "Mouse-dung!" (that'd be cool! )

Shadowpelt popped up out of the snow just in time to watch Frostblizzard's attempt. Sure, she might not have caught the eagle, but he was shocked that she could so fluidly piece together those ice platforms to bring herself closer and closer to her prey. He padded over towards the snowdrift he had seen her fall into as quickly as he could without scaring off all of the prey in the whole forest. "Hey, F-frostblizzard. Are you alright?" The tom's voice was quieter than most cats' idea of a whisper, and he smiled down at the snow-covered warrior. "That was pretty close there..." Shadowpelt said with a friendly smile. Much closer than I've ever come to catching an eagle at least. So much for leading this patrol, he wanted to learn how to make those ice paths like he had just seen Frostblizzard do.

Frostblizzard pushed herself to her paws and shook the heavy snow from her fur, "bleh. Besides getting a whole ton of snow up my nose and in my ears? Yeah, I'm okay." She pawed annoyedly at her ears, "pretty close isn't as good as succeeding," she sighed before she gave herself a shake and looked over at him. "oh well. Ready to keep going?"

Shadowpelt felt himself grow rather warm under his fur, despite the cold. Although he would have much preferred to not ask Frostblizzard for help, there was no way he could allow himself to pass up such an opportunity. "A-actually...I was w-wondering if you wouldn't m-mind showing m-me how you did that." He muttered, doing his best to look the she-cat in the eye as he spoke. "Y-You know, h-how you made those platforms out of i-ice."
Yarrow looked overhead to see an eagle, a bit worried at first. He noticed the eagle looked like it had been attacked, and given that it was flying in the opposite direction he figured he wasn't alone anymore. Sure, he knew there was a group of cats living on this territory as well, but he had had the good fortune of not running into them yet. It seemed to him that his luck was about to run out. Well, might as well see what I'm up against. The tom assumed these other cats would be hostile, and so he did his best to be stealthy as he headed towards the direction he had seen the eagle come from. Every few tail-lengths Yarrow scented the air, hoping to catch wind of the Clan cats before they noticed him.

Frostblizzard looked surprised, most cats ignored that particular skill, content with just keeping on top of the snow rather than fighting and hunting with it. "Sure," she mewed, her pelt warming slightly, "I can teach you after the patrol if you'd like, but we need to get food for the clan first... if you don't mind." She twitched her ears slightly nervously. (Do you want Yarrow to catch wind of them first?)

(Sure!)
Shadowpelt nodded in agreement with Frostblizzard. Improving his skills as a warrior was important, but not anywhere near important enough to be put above the needs of the Clan. "N-no, you're right. Let's k-keep going." He spoke with a smile, before he padded forward slowly in a hunter's crouch. Scenting the air, he grinned to himself as he noticed there was a rabbit nearby. This was his chance to prove himself, he thought, as he closed in on the rabbit. Shadowpelt's approach was slow, but he managed to keep all but silent and the snow he was covered in kept him fairly well hidden. Judging the distance between himself and his prey, the young warrior leaped towards the rabbit with claws unsheathed and paws outstretched. Catching hold of the rabbit, Shadowpelt quickly finished it off with a killing bite.
Yarrow let out a low growl as he grew closer and closer to the pair of Clan cats. He could smell the rabbit Shadowpelt had just caught, an he also understood that there were two scents up ahead. Staying as low as his large frame would allow, the burly loner continued slowly gaining on the others, wondering whether or not to strike once he was in range.

"great catch!" Frostblizzard purred before she sank into a hunter's crouch and stayed near invisible as she silently snuck closer to a hawk that was looking around at the edges of a large tree's roots. Come on, don't get startled. She snuck closer to the bird, her blue eyes fixed on the hawk, sheets of ice and snow keeping her above the snow as she crept closer. (Wanna have Yarrow startle the hawk?)

Shadowpelt did his best to smile around the rabbit in his jaws to show his appreciation for the praise. The tom watched Frostblizzard intently as she manipulated the ice sheets to make platforms, hoping he would pick up on something that would help him copy the technique. That would definitely make hunting a fair bit easier.
Yarrow had closed much of the gap between himself and the hunting pair. So much so that the warriors were now within sight, and he saw the she-car making ice sheets appear as platforms while she got closer and closer to the hawk she was stalking. He had never seen anything like this before, being new to the territory. Concerned about what other moves these cats might be hiding, he decided now was the best time to make a move. Unfortunately for Yarrow, he was far too bulky to make any impressive leap up the ice and snow beneath Frostblizzard. No, instead his chosen method of surprise attack was essentially just getting himself going as fast as possible and barreling straight into Shadowpelt, who happened to take the blow rather poorly and skidded across the ice and snow. "Who are you?" He asked in a rather calm voice, smiling in a strangely friendly manner as he turned to face Frostblizzard.

Frostblizzard gave a leap as the hawk got startled by the loner's presence and flattened the bird to the snow before she quickly killed it and padded over to the loner, the fur around her neck was lifting slightly. "I am Frostblizzard." She mewed cooly, her blue eyes were now guarded and indifferent. "Before you tell me what your name may be, can you get off of my clanmate?"

Shadowpelt struggled beneath the much larger tom, which ended in the two exchanging blows with claws sheathed. After a bit of pushing from Shadowpelt and Frostblizzard's request, the two toms were separated. Taking a moment to compose himself, the young warrior glared over at the loner, wishing for a chance to fight him even though the odds were not in his favor in a fair fight here.
Yarrow came to stand a tail-length or two away from Shadowpelt, seemingly paying the other tom no mind. After all, it was Frostblizzard he had seen manipulating the snow and ice, not her "clanmate". "I haven't seen any of your clanmates before, can you all control the ice like that?" The loner was regretting his original choice of words, he wanted to know more about this she-cat and her strange abilities. Her name or Clan were of little importance.

Frostblizzard's right ear twitched with slight annoyance, "yes. All of us can, to varying degrees anyway." She kept a careful eye on the loner and Shadowpelt, while she knew the black tom could handle himself, an opponent bigger than both of them wasn't at all fair odds. To both busy her paws and to keep the hawk from turning into eagle-food, she pushed the hawk beneath the snow and compacted it so that the hawk was staying cold.

Shadowpelt was rather on edge, muscles tight as he prepared to pounce should this loner try something again. Although they were smaller than Yarrow, he was confident that they would be able to overtake him if they needed to since they had him outnumbered. Plus, they were still warriors. They had been trained to be able to hold their own in battle.
Yarrow seemed a bit confused now, having expected these cats to be much more hostile. He was no stranger to being run out of territory that had already been claimed, that's how he had ended up all the way out here in the first place. "Aren't you going to try and chase me out of here or something now?" He turned to look over at Shadowpelt, shaking his head. "Or did I just make a fool of myself, and there's nothing to worry about?"

"Only if you don't stay toward the far edge of the forest," Frostblizzard mewed, her tail lying still on the snow.

Yarrow looked from warrior to warrior in disbelief. "If that's all there is to it, I'm sure I can do that." He wasn't used to being allowed to settle down on someone else's territory. "I'm sorry about all this then, I guess I'll see you around then." He licked down his chest fur, feeling hot with embarrassment. "I'm Yarrow by the way."
Shadowpelt turned away from the loner, focusing on Frostblizzard instead. "We should k-keep going. There's s-still p-prey to catch." His voice made it clear that he was still tense from being tackled only moments earlier, but there were more important things than this loner.

Frostblizzard gave the loner a short nod, "as I said before, my name's Frostblizzard, and the black tom who you so rudely attacked is Shadowpelt." She turned her attention toward Shadowpelt, "yeah if you want me to teach you any ice maneuvers it'll take some time and the clan needs to be fed first." She then dipped her head to Yarrow and flicked her tail toward a pile of rocks, "you are welcome to stay at the edge of the forest on the border closest to the mountains. Do you see the rock pile that go between the two streams? Behind those rocks is where you can stay."

Shadowpelt watched Yarrow over his shoulder as he started to pad away from the loner. Not only was the hawk that Frostblizzard had been stalking gone, but they had probably chased away any other nearby prey with all of the noise they made. It looked to him like this patrol was going to take a while, nothing had really gone right for them so far.
Yarrow nodded in acknowledgment to Frostblizzard, and was soon heading away from the two Clan warriors. He hadn't expected them to let him stay in the territory, let alone care so little about the fact that he was there. As much as he felt like he had embarrassed himself, at least he didn't have to find a new home.

Frostblizzard followed Shadowpelt and kept her ears turned in the loner's direction in the process, I bet this patrol's going to last at least another day. She sighed mentally, not only does it take a while to get back to camp, but we haven't caught anything so far and that in itself takes some time. She glanced up at slowly setting sun and was alarmed by the wisps of cloud that was beginning to thicken into storm clouds. "We should try and hurry, dragging prey through a snowstorm isn't a very fun experience."
