"Don't mind me." Hal grunted, clearly in pain, but I mean who wouldn't be after an attack like that? He dismissed her offer, with a wave of his hand. "Let's at least see if there's any first aid kits here or not before we dirty up your little sash thing." He said, fumbling around in the extremely dimly lit room, looking for either a first aid kit or a light switch, but both would be ideal. "Haha, we're lucky we made it away from those wolves alive." He said with a soft laugh. "Should have known you wouldn't be a good runner, what with you bein' a librarian and all." He said with a wink, though he doubt he could have seen it due to the dim light so he told her he was just teasing her, as not to seriously hurt her feelings. OOC Text
IC Kenzie huffed quietly. "Well, I may not be a runner, but I did do a lot of reading and we need to get that bandaged soon to stop the bleeding," she told him, placing her hands on her hips, though it was really too dark to see. She hadn't noticed how well, dark it was in here before. She folded her arms worriedly and looked around. "It's kinda dark in here," she commented, still holding the bright blue sash in her hand, which she only just recently seemed to remember and quickly tied it back around her waist. "Hal, how are we going to even survive out here? Five minutes in and we've already ran into huge wolves and up got hurt. We are not off to a good start," she stated bluntly.

"I'm already tired of bringing you down Val. I don't mind going on these harder quests with you... that is if you'll have me." Bist said, determined not to get left behind. He then dug into, well, whatever was sitting on his plate, and it was delicious. "This is much better than the stuff they gave us at that estate. Which is ironic considering that dude was loaded, you'd think that there'd be better food." He said with a shrug, chasing the food down with a large gulp from his mug. "So, with those traits, you think I'll be any useful for tomorrow? Be honest, it won't hurt my feelings." Bist replied with a smile, using a napkin to wipe the food from his face. What can he say, he hadn't eaten food this good in months and got a little carried away.

OOC Text
IC Kenzie took the things and looked at them for a moment before nodding and sitting down, placing it all down and pointing at the floor. "Sit down so I can get to work," she ordered, trying to focus on patching him for now instead of thinking about their situation. "Once you're all patched up, we can then start looking around. See what's here..." she suggested, voice quiet as her hair fell in her face and she brushed it back, placing it behind her rather big, pointed ear. She was still trying to calm herself down after all of that excitement. She was not cut out for this, Kenzie was not a rough and tumble type of person, she had no doubts that she would probably die down here in a few days, she really didn't count on living long.

Hal did as she told, sitting cross-legged in front of her while making sure not to stain any of her clothes with his blood. He could tell just by looking at her that she was nervous and feeling doubtful, he had looked seen the look on her face far too many times on others, not to know what she was going through. "Kenzie, don't worry. We're going to live to ripe old ages down here. You may not believe it today, you may not believe it tomorrow, but we will." He said, giving her a reassuring smile while patting her head. Despite their similar age, Hal almost felt like he had to baby Kenzie, sort of like the way you would a little sister.

OOC Text
IC To be fair, Kenzie needed protected. She was young, and innocent, and naive, she wasn't very strong in any sense, physical or emotional. That's not to say she couldn't do things, she just...well she wasn't cut out for this, any of it. Kenzie was quiet as she cleaned up his wound, taking caution and a rather lot of care as she cleaned it up and got around to bandaging his arm. It wasn't perfect, but it wasn't sloppy either. "Maybe you will, but Hal, I am not many for this. I...I'm not strong and I'm not useful, and I have basically no survival skills," she said, looking down. "People like me, we don't last in things like this. We don't last long in adventures. You might live to a nice old age Hal, but I'm not going to," she explained, sounding like she had already sort of given up on it. "Don't feel bad. It's just simple statistics. Given everything, I'm not going to survive more than a few days," Kenzie said as she finished up wrapping Hal's arm.

Valkoinen considered his words a moment before shaking her head. "No, there have been a lot of things that caught me off guard since I got here. I don't have all the answers yet, either. We should start small, especially if its just the two of us." She replied. "Your stats should come in handy, especially since we have opposite skills. If we could find a healer-type mage, we might stand a better chance since we'll cover all aspects of the card stats." She took a few more bites of her food. "You're not dragging me down, though. You have to remember that sponsoring someone means giving them what they need to get started. Besides, the goddess lady said we had to work together if we wanted to succeed. This should get you caught up to me within a week or two."

"I'd put a little bit more money into your stock there kid. You were lucky enough to survive so far, who's to say that luck streak will run out anytime soon?" Hal said reassuringly. He winced in pain as she tentatively applied the bandage. "Good as new, thanks to you!" He said with a soft chuckle. "Let's see what's behind door number two, here." Hal said, getting from his knees to his feet, and walking towards the door at the furthest point in the room. "There isn't much in this room, so hopefully there's a lot more in the next." He added. "... I opened the last door, why don't you take the lead on this one Kenzie."
Bist let out another long sigh before nodding his head and going back to devouring his food. It didn't take long for the hungry teen to scarf down the large portion of food and he leaned back against the wall, satisfied. "Say, Val. Two questions. How far away from the guild do you live? And, what level are you?" The hunter asked curiously, while patting his full belly. Just how far will I have to go to catch up with her... Hopefully it won't take long.

OOC Text
IC Kenzie got up, glancing towards the door that Hal pointed out. She wasn't so sure she wanted to open it, who was to say what they would find on the other side? But then again, it was either that door or the one they came from, and she did not want to deal with the wolves again. So she gave a shaky nod and walked over to the door as she clasped her small hand on the cold handle and gave it a shove to open it, however it didn't budge at first and she tried again before coming to the realization that this was a pull not push type of door. Instantly heat rose to her cheeks in embarrassment, which she ignored and instead tugged at the handle, pulling the door open to lead them into the next room.

"With our last mission, I hit level fourteen." Valkoinen replied. "As for the house, I live sort of near the city gates. So if anything happens, I'm right there to help. It's not a bad walk if you don't overeat. Or over drink." She tried to remember how the road home usually went. It was typically cool out at night, and the only people about were the ones who were heading home or the guards who were heading over to switch shifts. Otherwise, not bad. "There might be a few others in the guild that live near there too. I just haven't spent a lot of time at the house since we started dungeon-delving."

Hal waited patiently for the introverted girl to figure out the door, patting her shoulder when she finally managed to do so. "Stairs?" He said, thinking out loud. "Big stairs too... just how big is this bunker?" Hal questioned, staring at the wide set of stairs before them, that was at least ten feet wide. "I know it's ladies first but... we don't know if this place is safe yet, that and the lights are pretty dim down here, so it's best if you just stay behind me." He told Kenzie, reaching into his pocket to grab the knife that had helped them so much before. Hal warily reached out with the knife in his right hand, while making his way slowly down the stairs while keeping his left hand against the wall. "This may be an odd question but... you don't happen to have any paper on you... do you?"

Valkoinen put a hand over the brooch a moment, thinking it over. "Well, it's been good in emergencies, and thirty seconds of protection is really a long time in a fight, especially since the enemy has no idea I can't be hurt. They never stop to wait it out, and it's common for them to tire themselves before the effect is over. Unfortunately, because it's a once-a-day thing, there have been times where I tried to save it for later when I should have used it, and vice versa. It's hard to predict when is the best time to use it. It's definitely saved my skin a number of times. I'm really glad I took it instead of a weapon." She took the last few bites of her dinner before she piled their dishes to make them easier to clean up. "I'm all good to go. Come on," She said, standing. "I'll show you how to get to the house."

Bist looked at the little pendant she wore, in awe. Can that little thing really prevent her from being hurt entirely? That's kind of crazy... He looked at the spear to his right, before picking it up and holding it, it was surprisingly light. It couldn't wear more than two or three pounds, quite a large feat for something of its size, definitely wasn't hollow either. Bist slowly got up, stretching his back and yawning loudly, before following Valkoinen. "Say, how long did it take for you to save up money to buy a house? We've only been here for a few months, you must have worked your butt off." He said, curiously.
I agree, not really sure what the whole currency system is for.

OOC I like the update, it's fun.
IC Kenzie was more than happy to let him go first, though she did feel a twinge of guilt for it. What if something was down there? Hal could get hurt. But still, she let him go and followed after him at a slower pace, having a bit of trouble with the stairs. Then he mentioned paper and Kenzie's face brightened as she rifled through her pockets for a moment before pulling out a very small notebook, which she passed to him with a smile. "I write in my spare time, so I always have some paper on me," she explained rather happily that she could be of use in this case. Kenzie mostly wrote down story ideas, maybe parts of stories, sometimes poems, and of course some pages were littered in no writing at all, but rather small little doodles she did when she was bored, but there were still plenty of blank papers there too.

Hal came to a dead stop, and turned around slowly, giving Kenzie and incredulous look. "Are you serious? You seriously have paper on you? Like, in your pockets? I could name ten things that are infinitely better for situations like these, just off the top of my head, that you could carry around. For instance: matches, a knife, hell even a candy bar..." Realizing he came off a bit harsh, and noticing the fact that it was him who even asked for the paper in the first place. "Still though, I'm glad you came prepared... well to a degree." He added with a soft chuckle. "Anyways, I ask because judging by the size of these stairs, this place is huge and we're gonna need to make a map and document our way back to the entrance." He said, while continuing his slow pace down the stairs.

OOC Text
IC Kenzie frowned and huffed slightly, taking her notebook back and shoved it back in her pocket. "Well we all can't be as prepared as you for being tossed down to the ground like this," she retorted quietly as she folded her arms. It wasn't like she thought this would happen and writing was a good coping mechanism for her. She scrunched up her nose, feeling rather offended and a bit hurt actually that he asked for paper and then got all upset at her for having it in the first place. So she just quietly moved passed him on the stairs to take the lead, keeping quiet after that. She kept her steps lightly on the stairs, keeping her back turned to Hal. That was another thing with Kenzie, she was sensitive, easily hurt, though she also used this to try her best not to hurt others, but still.
