Ever since I first read Midnight, I can't help but think about this one particular line from Squirrepaw every time I go back to it.
This got me thinking, could it be possible that Squirrelflight once felt as though the Clan had high expectations of her just because she was Firestar's daughter, similar to how most cats expected Bramblestar to turn into another Tigerstar when he himself was younger?

That's probably the case. I wish it was expanded more upon, but I suppose it would've seemed like a parallel to Brambleclaw's arc at the time.

I think so. I wish we got to see more of that, though.

Definitely. Living up to their family's success seems to affect most of Firestar's descendants.

Especially considering how much she resembles him, I'm sure pressure was a big issue for her, which was why she rebelled a lot near that age.

Definitely. Considering she resembled him and she was the one who they originally thought of for Fire and Tiger even though Leafpaw was also a choice due to Squirrelflight looking more like Firestar, I'd totally expect there to be pressure on her. Also on Leafpool but in a different way since she's a medicine cat. Squirrelpaw probably got it worse because she was training to be a warrior. But yeah, definitely. TBH I always liked Squirrelflight as a -paw and found her personality great, but I think I'm the odd one out with that. I always really liked Squirrelpaw, too and I also found her personality to be interesting.

She probably felt pressure from her whole family now that I think about it. Her father is the great Firestar, her mother is the clans best hunter, and her sister was training to be a medicine cat and was also seen as "perfect". (The Warriors app once said something about Squirrel putting ants in her sisters nest because she was annoyed she never got into trouble).
Do you think this could have been a factor as to why she was determined to go on the journey with bramble? She probably saw it as her chance to prove herself a hero.
