and so is the rest of my class
we did this project where we had to make a mini podcast each which we then played in front of the class, and one of my classmates decided to talk about love. she described her first kiss and first boyfriend, but then she got to talking about her first love, a guy in our class. she described how she felt about him and how she felt when they broke up, even retold the nightmares she had as a result of the breakup. we're a really tight-knit group and they were together for the better part of our time as a class, so we were all kind of grieving with them when he starts crying and the rest of us just followed. she went on about how they're great friends now, etc, etc, and by the time she finished every single person in that classroom - including the teacher - was just openly weeping for the two of them. and they were both crying and looking at each other and giving these devastated looks and then she left him behind and the whole thing just seemed like a metaphor and I'm so emotional idk what to do with myself rn

oh no, it's super cheesy and really funny. you don't have to apologise. it's not really that sad, it wasn't some kind of emotional revelation, and honestly, I think we were crying because we've spent so long together and in a few weeks we'll probably never see each other again as opposed to because the story she told was so emotionally heavy or whatever. I am emotional, but laughably so, which is why I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do. because, like, it's so stupid. yet there we were, 30 teenagers who are always so mean to each other and a teacher who doesn't care just... crying? it's hilarious. what happened was absurd and I'm dying.
