OLD VERSION // { the cats of crescent bay }

The cats of Crescent Bay have several well-known traits. These cats are known for their tough paw pads as they spent quite some time gripping the rocky paths that lead down to the bay. They normally are medium-furred as the weather and water plays a big part in the climate. They also have webbed paws, prepared for a quick dip in the bay if need be. BayClan cats do not have a certain type of stature, though it said that the first generation was full of more stocky than slender. Over time, that has changed, leaving the clan with a mix of builds.

common pelt colors - - { xx }. grey & brown. As for pelt markings, classic tabbies are more common compared to spotted.

common eye colors - - { xx }. green & yellow. 

common prey - - { xx }. mice, squirrels, freshwater fish, shrews, small birds

common predators - - { xx }.  foxes, whales, seals, moose, bears, coyotes

Living in the heart of the bay, BayClan is much more than just a bay. The surrounding landmarks create even more beauty than one could imagine.

crescent bay - - { xx }. Crescent Bay is the epitome of BayClan for it gave the clan its namesake. With beautiful, glimmering ocean blue water, this bay seeps out into the ocean and other water sources alike. The bay has a rough, sandy shore along with several large rocks lining the upper part of it. The reason for this bay's name? Simple; it's close to being the shape of a crescent hence Crescent Bay. It is truly a wonder of our world. 

mossrocks - - { xx }. Above Crescent Bay sits Mossrocks, which is pile of boulders and rocks ranging in many sizes, big and small, where the trees thin and turn into the sandy shore of the bay. The rocks themselves are covered in thick, soft moss. These are to be avoided and only admired as they are a danger to the clan for these rocks could come crashing down. 

upper woodlands - - { xx }.  Found on a hill higher than where BayClan's camp is located, the Upper Woodlands is full of mixed trees such as birches, pines, spruces, maples, and many more. These hardwood trees decorate the forest from east to west, north to south. Ferns, mosses, bunchberries are also found here along with herbs the medicine cat may need. Most of the hunting is done in the woodlands unless the tide is low near the bay that the clan can fish.

abandoned harbor - - { xx }.  Located on the west side of the bay, the Abandoned Harbor is said to be the place where one of our founders, Baystar, grew up. After quite some time, twolegs hardly come around to the harbor anymore. They spend their time in the woods, hiking rather than down on the shore in their boats. There is a broken dock which has some boards floating in the water. There's also two abandoned boats, old and grimy from the weather. The paint on these boats has worn off due to exposure of the sun and its age. Sometimes, apprentices enjoy exploring the harbor though it's not uncommon for warriors to do the same. It's said to have a great view of the bay, especially for sunsets.

deer's hollow - - { xx }. Deer's Hollow is an open, vast landmark. There really isn't much to it unless you look past the animals that graze here. With deer grazing here every so often, this hollow is used for training too. Lush, soft green grass covers the hollow floor along with little boulders, bushes, and two small red spruce trees. It's best to be careful here so that one doesn't spook the deer or injure themselves in training.

clearspring creek - - { xx }. Not a normal hunting spot, Clearspring Creek is an astounding sight as the water is crystal clear. This creek comes from far away and connects to Crescent Bay, its clear water pouring into the ocean blue. Before it reaches the bay, it streams throughout the territory, allowing the cats to reach a quick source of water instead of wandering down to the bay's shore. 

the fallen birch - - { xx }. - Once the tallest tree in BayClan territory, the Fallen Birch was known as the Great Birch in times long past. The ancient tree now sits on the forest floor, collecting moss, fungi and lichens. It sits in the center of the Upper Woodlands, and is difficult to climb over even for full-grown cats, as it is extremely large. The elders enjoy telling old tales of the Fallen Birch especially of the days when it was known as the Great Birch.

crescent pool - - { xx }. Oddly enough, Crescent Pool was not named after the bay for it was named after the clan's first medicine cat, Crescent-tail. A very dedicated she-cat, Crescent-tail had stumbled upon this cave when she was searching for their StarClan place with Baystar, the clan's soon-to-be leader. On the edge of the bay sits a cave, a crack in the rocky mesa. The walls of the cave shimmer white when the moon is full. Inside this cave is a shallow pool where those who visit touch their noses to the water before drifting off to sleep. Crescent-tail was the first medicine cat of BayClan who found the pool which was named in honor of the work she had done for her newly found clan.

camp - - { xx }. On a lower hill that's easily reachable from the bay, the camp is hidden in a dip that's not too far from the beach. Luckily for these felines, a flood entering the camp is unlikely if even uncommon. When first entering, you'll noticing there is a nursery, which is made of out of dug-out hole with moss and fern fronds lining it. Next to it is the elder's den, which is under a small bunchberry bush. Across the clearing is the warrior's den, found in a dip and covered by a large bush. Only several fox lengths away is the apprentice's den, which is beneath a rocky overhang  with walls weaved with reeds and seagrasses, the base being done with ferns and lichens.  The medicine cat's den is at the back of the camp, nestled underneath a large red maple tree's roots where the herbs stay in dug out hollows and makeshift shelves. There are several moss nests for the ill and injured to stay in and the entrance/exit to the den is near the back, allowing one to climb up and find themselves not far from the leader's den. The leader's den is small as it is buried underneath a berry bush like the elder's den. There is a tall birch tree, which is used for announcements and meetings with the clan. Lastly, the clearing is the middle of the camp and the fresh kill pile is not too far from the elder's den either, making it easy for the retired warriors to have a meal.

camp trails - - { xx }. There are three paths that lead out of the large dip the cats call their home. Each path leads in the direction of a different landmark; the first being Crescent Bay and the Crescent Pool. The second leads to the Upper Woodlands and Deer's Hollow and doesn't stray far from the creek. Finally, the last trail leads to the Abandoned Harbor and Mossrocks. This path in particular is less traveled as it's not used every day. Of course when there's time to have some fun, this is the trail to take!

activity - - { xx }. All I'm asking is for you to be active; please be on three times a week and roleplay. People with higher ranks such as medicine cat, be on at least four times a week and roleplay. As long as you warn me about inactivity, we'll be fine. On the other hand, if you aren't active for a week without notifying me, you will be deleted.

spam & stealing - - { xx }. Spam isn't welcomed here. If you need someone's immediate attention, like their post, maybe even post something if that's what it takes to get their attention. If you do spam on this thread, you will be reported. As for stealing, DO NOT steal any graphics, coding, characters, or any information. It all belongs to their rightful owners and for stealing, you will be reported

god-modding, powerplaying, etc. - - { xx }. This is an easy rule to follow. Do not god-mod or power-play. Don't know what these mean? For example, god-modding is taking over the roleplay and making your character the star. Power-playing is controlling someone else's character. Don't take control of the roleplay or someone else's character; it's annoying and uncalled for.

characters - - { xx }. There is something to with characters I do not want happening; mary sues & gary stus. These are known as perfect characters. I don't want to see a cat described as "the most beautiful cat in the clan" or "they are the sweetest, most gentle cat ever. they are the best hunter in the clan's history". Like people, characters too have flaws and this applies to their personalities too. I will be allowing LGBT+Q relationships, and if that's something you're not comfortable with, then please don't join. 

joining - - { xx }. Before joining, you must give a roleplay sample. If you do not supply a roleplay sample, I will remind you to read the rules before trying again. If you are denied, you cannot join the roleplay. I will be checking your activity to see if you have any current roleplays that have posts similar to your sample. You must CLAIM even genders which means for each she-cat, you claim a tom. I will only allow one apprentice per a member as they are a rank that people make characters for quickly and we will need enough mentors for them. You may have an unlimited amount of characters, but don't go overboard, especially if you can't roleplay them all. Queens and kits are NOT allowed for joining at this time, and if you do decide to join as one, you'll be denied. Unless another member is roleplaying the mate or ex-mate of your queen, the role is closed. Orphan kits will only come with plots. 

literacy - - { xx }. Literacy was a controversial topic on the old forums, so please don't call me out on it. What exactly is literacy? Let me provide you with an actual definition from the web.

plots - - { xx }. Plots come and go. They are one of the few things on a page that is updated every so often. This reason alone is why you should make it a habit to check the plot section of the Clan. Depending on the plot depends on the amount of spots open for a certain role. These will be specified in the plot section. However, there are general rules for us to go over. The main plot and general Clan events override smaller plots and smaller Clan events. If something that moves the main plot is scheduled, that will override any possibility for a predator attack or a queen kitting until that event is completed. It is wise to let me, ~Sandclaw~, or a clan moderator know about when you may want your side plot or a small Clan activity to take place. If there is a conflict, it will be thoroughly discussed until a resolution is achieved.

He is a bi-colored feline, those two colors of black and white. His ears, back, and tail are completely black whereas the rest of his body is simply white. Woodpeckerstar has golden yellow eyes.
