I just sort of had an idea. I'm not yet 100% sure how long the plot will last or how it will be developed but I guess I just had an idea and wanted to see if anyone would be interested.
My girl is a suffragette who has been thrown in jail after being involved in a somewhat violent protest. She has gone on hunger strike and is starting to draw attention to herself. Your guy is a prison guard who meets my girl. Over time, the two gradually become friends [and more if you're interested in romance, no problem if not]

( color me intrigued, may I join? ^^ ) Totally, you can claim. What'll your charrie's name be? Mine's going to be Madeline Duke. I can start if you want, though don't worry if my reply length is different to yours, I'll try to match]

A young woman sat in the corner of a cell, knees drawn up to her chest and her stomach growling. Madeline Duke couldn't remember when she had last eaten, and she was becoming slow and groggy and tired. But she couldn't give in to them. not ever.
She had lost a lot of weight already, her frame slim. She was average height. She had a pretty face, with delicate features, but her cheeks were now hollow and her cheekbones prominent. She had dark circles beneath her green eyes from lack of sleep and her dark red hair was tousled.
She stood and approached the bars as one of the governors of the prison approached the bars.
"You're still refusing to eat, I presume, Miss Duke?"
"You're still refusing to give women their rights, I presume?" Madeline shot back
"Very well, have it your way. I won't give you the satisfaction of making a scene by starving yourself to death. You're booked in for a feeding tonight."
Ah. Force feeding. One of the most unpleasant experiences the twenty-three year old had ever gone through. Madeline had been force fed before. A doctor had held her mouth open as someone else poured food down her throat and forced her to eat it. She had almost vomited several times and returned to her cell with tear stains on her face.
Madeline just fixed the governor with a hard glare as he walked away with a roll of his eyes. Madeline would never give up.

Madeline turned her eyes to the young guard who had decided to speak to her. None of the guards had ever seen fit to talk to her before. This was most definitely a first.
"I know he would," Madeline replied "But if I wanted things easy I wouldn't have become a suffragette. Besides, I don't think he would go that easy on me even if I did what he wanted. I'm clearly crazy, radical, a threat to peace, with ideas way above my station."
Her voice sounded like it wanted to have anger and passion to it, but she was struggling to summon up the energy to give it the emotion it needed. Sometimes she questioned whether she had the resolve she needed to get through this. Whether she was strong enough.

I like a lot of anime. If you want to talk about some, don't be a stranger.

"You won't last long Miss Duke, not like this you won't..." Arthur said, reaching into the bag on his back and pulling out a paper bag. "Here, it's not much but it's something." The young man pulled out a sandwich from the bag, along with what appeared to be homemade cookies. "I uh, I'm not much of a baker, but it's better than nothing." The young man muttered, his face red as he reached through the bars offering the food to Madeline, refusing to look her in the eyes.

"Oh, wow, thank you so much," Madeline replied with a smile, taking the food "Maybe with some food in my stomach I'll be able to keep my food down later if they force feed me. Just don't tell anyone I gave in. Oh, and you can call me Madeline"
'Miss Duke' sounded so derogatory to her, maybe just because she had heard it from the governor's mouth so many times. Not that she thought this guard was anything like that. In fact, his kindness astonished her

At the first comment, Madeline let out a bitter laugh "No, they wouldn't. This is the kindest anyone has been to me for months and months. As for how I got here, I have been a suffragette for a few years now. I went to a protest that got a little...spirited, to say the least. Stones through shop windows and the like. I just happened to be one of the ones who got arrested, unfortunately. The suffragettes don't usually have to do much to get arrested."

"I didn't say I actually did anything, did I?" Madeline replied "I was just there. I didn't actually put any rocks through windows. I wanted peaceful protest too. But sometimes if they don't listen to peaceful protests you have to turn to something a little more controversial. It's sometimes the only way to get your point across."
As the guard moved to sit at the table, Madeline took a bite of the sandwich, hoping to get it finished before the next guard came. She didn't want anyone to see that she was eating again.

"I'd only worked in a factory, making clothes. I've worked in that factory since I was thirteen. I'd always wanted to be a teacher but getting the qualifications and getting the job as a woman was difficult. Of course, I got fired from the factory a little while before I got arrested. Can't have a suffragette in their workforce." Madeline had replied matter-of-factly.
She heard the man's stomach grumble and, without hesitation, passed the cookies to him through the bar "Here, you need these more than me. The sandwich will be more than enough. I'm past the point of having an appetite"
