yikes like i didn't notice how rude he was being but like.....damn he's literally just putting his apprentice down constantly and there's no excuse for it anymore. like a little sass here and there is fine but the fact that he's being so damn rude to alderpaw makes me suuuuper uncomfortable?? jayfeather in PoT and OotS was rude, sure, but he had moments of showing kindness and respect to the cats who were his family and important to him, but now he's....literally just putting alderpaw down and showing abusive language to him like. yikes my dude.

I've only read the first few chapters of AVoS but from what I've read so far it feels like most of the characters are feeling kind of 2-dimensional. Jayfeather has been reduced to a rude, impatient furrball, Leafpool is just kind of playing good cop to Jayfeather's bad cop, and I was really surprised with Molewhisker's snappy-ness while he was Alderpaw's mentor (although that doesn't really have anything to do with this).
I really haven't read many chapters of the book but from other people's opinions I worry about Jayfeather's character for the rest of the book and the arc because to me he isn't acting himself already. The Erin's seem to think that's all to his personality nowadays, rather than him being thoughtful, intense/ distant depending on the situation, etc

Exactly. The Jayfeather I know and love would NEVER act like that. Like I said, he's not mean, he's just a little snappy. He can be impatient, but not when it counts. I feel like they really butchered his characteristics in VoS, as if the Erins who wrote it didn't like Jayfeather |

It really makes me not wanna finish the book, but I need to know what happens. I think it will officially be my last Warriors book. I thought I was done after OoS, but I was excited for the storyline. Now, not so much. It's sad what it's become |
