It seemed the group's time for room preparations, if it could even be called that, was over. Sandalphon instantly set his full attention on that plant the moment he saw it start moving towards the other two children, cutting his little interaction with snarky girl short. "Don't just stand there!" He shouted at the siblings, neither of which were exactly hurrying to get away. Reaching down and unsheathing his sword, the Primarch dashed off towards them, leaving his 'conversation partner' behind. What was with this place, and the children it brought here lacking common sense in the face of danger? Or was that what mortals referred to being as being 'paralyzed with fear'? The very air around him stired as he began channeling power of the tetra-elements. Raising his free arm, he directed a blade-like gust of wind towards the strange plant, aiming straight for its opening maw in an effort to cleave it in half.

"He had sunglasses, and his hair was tied in a ponytail! I think his name started with an M. Marcus, Miles, something like that. Do you know him?" For some reason, Mabel couldn't remember his full name. She hoped that her twin would know who she was talking about, if he did know the man. Noticing her popsicle was melting, the girl took another lick from it. However, her moment of peace didn't last long. She jumped back as Sandalphon intervened, dropping the treat onto the jungle floor. Is that magic? she wondered again, still amazed at the Primarch's strange powers. This time, he appeared to move a gust of wind towards the hostile plant. However, she couldn't focus on the older blinker for long, as a vine suddenly sprang out from a tree and attempted to grab her face. Luckily, she ducked out of the way just in time.

[ Azula || Little Garden of Horrors || not gonna ping since I just did ] Azula's eyes widened in surprise as she watched the older blinker attack the plant. Is he. . .airbending? His previous attack had been strange to begin with. Never before had she witnessed another firebender manipulate such beams of light. If such a thing could be done, she'd have been taught to do it by now. But this - this made no sense. Only the Avatar could bend multiple elements. Sandalphon surely couldn't be the Avatar. He'd been described as a young boy, and the only surviving airbender. This man was certainly not a young boy, and he didn't look like an airbender she'd heard stories of. Something isn't right.

Little Garden of Horrors | larkflight gray The head of the fly trap spilt in two with a satisfying snick, allowing relief to enter Sandalphon's core as he thought the siblings were, at least momentarily, out of harms way. Little did he know how temporary that feeling would be... The Primarch skidded to a halt when he saw the direness of the situation at hand very quickly rising to light, the sight causing the grip he had on his blade to unconsciously tighten enough to turn the skin of his knuckles white. The jungle itself was coming to life all around them, flora of various shapes and sizes stirring of their own accord. Not only that, while the remains of the monstrous plant he thought he just slew still lay on the ground, multiple more 'heads' now took its place, as if it were some sort of damn hydra. Fine then, he'd just cut it down until it didn't come back. Shooting a defiant glare towards his foe, "Begone!" Even stronger serrated gales heeded his summons this time, buffeting Sandalphon's form as they roared past him towards their target. Head after head sperated from their stems, but for each one felled, another filled its spot. Keeping the fly trap occupied with his magic, the Primarch lept into the frey himself, steel cleaving apart any other flora that drew close. For now, the actively approaching threat on this side of their starting area was halted, although that didn't mean much in the long term since they were still exposed in all other directions. While he wasn't concerned about his own safety, after all, what threat could these monstrosities pose to a Primal? He knew he couldn't keep an entire jungle's worth of carnivorous weeds away from the group once the rest of the ones surrounding them started closing in. That was... unless he went all out with the full extent of his power. However, doing so in while boxed in this close to the other blinkers would put them in even more danger, meaning that option was off the table. They needed a plan before things got even worse.

Fear showed itself on Steve's face watching as purple sludge splattered on the formerly pristine floor. He'd only caught on by chance, he had his quick reflexes to thank for that. Now the brunette was kneeling keeping himself steady while the podium moved downward towards a dark abyss. The stairs themselves twisted, some moved while others remained in their places ever twisting and connecting each other. However the stairs occupied the majority of the room one constant was that they were all made out of solid marble. Surreal as it was the teen forced himself back onto his feet no longer kneeling before the strange man appeared out of solid air. Steve cursed out of shock, wishing he's somehow hit his head on the pool's border. There had to have been explanation for his previous hallucination no matter how real it felt. "How am I supposed to know, man?" He shrugged his shoulders waving his hands expression how oblivious he was to all of this crap. In the other hallucination he'd seen people poof into existence like Hook it was weirder this time around. "This is crazy! I'm telling you this room is crazy. (this one's for des!)

(thanks man ;3 hook | stair room | Lark The pirate shook his hand in one final, sharp jolt - flinging off the remaining gore as he gave Steve a stern look over. He stared impatiently at the stranger as he reacted to his rather simple question, then dropped his shoulders with a sigh as he realized why he’d gotten such an attitude from the other blinker. He let his deflated weight loll him a few exaggerated steps backwards, peeking back towards the newbie as he vocalized his panic a bit more. “Aight, aight,” he interrupted begrudgingly, extending his good hand in a halting manner. Mid-thought, the pirate’s attention suddenly shifted away from the teen as movement caught his eye, causing him to pause any attempt at interaction. The man gave a serious look around the room, watching all the moving parts closely to be certain that it hadn’t been a trick of the eye. He seemed satisfied after a couple of seconds, if not thoroughly confused, then looked back at Steve expectantly. “Im going to need you to not...” he waved his hands in a brief mockery of what the other blinker had done a moment ago. He turned heel and started to parol the space that was available to the two of them. “I’m more experienced with this shit than I want to admit to you, so try and learn somethin’, or...” he trailed off with an absent mumble as he gazed over the platform’s edge.

(The fact Mabel thinks they're friends ... cx) Clearly Vincent wasn't going to answer Mabel, so Myrnin did. Just because it might annoy Vincent. Well ... he wished, anyway. "I'm Myrnin. Blondy over there is Mice. He likes rice and likely has lice." He flipped through the pages that Vincent had shoved at him. Most of them were very uninteresting and more of them were blank. He wondered, after a second of taking one out of the pile, if Vincent had checked completely over what he was passing to the vampire. He folded his own piece of paper, wiggled his eyebrows as he looked at Vincent, and placed it in his own pocket. "Now give her the stack of papers," he said, nodding to Mabel. "If you're gonna play the House's game, at least play it a bit more fairly." There might have been something better in the pile, but really Myrnin doubted it. After all, the papers did seem to be advertising superpowers.

[ Mabel and Azula || Little Garden of Horrors || HᥲꙆƒꙆɩɠᖾt Lark ] Panic flooded through Mabel as the vines closed in around her. For a brief moment, all she could do was stand still, eyes wide in fear. Luckily, her twin grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the way just in time. She nodded in response to his question, even though she didn't think of the man from last time as unhelpful. He'd seemed like a pretty nice guy. "Yeah, he had brown hair!" She couldn't chatter for long, however, as she then spotted a large tree branch sweeping down to attack them. "Look out!" she cried, sprinting in the opposite direction.
----
Azula was still in shock about Sandalphon's abilities, but the encroaching plants were just as big of an issue. If they weren't stopped, all four of them would die. She shot a blast of blue flames at a group of vines that were moving towards her and jumped out of the way. Now next to the two siblings, she was face with a hostile tree branch. Like with the vines, she used her firebending in an attempt to attack the tree. She loathed the time she spent here, as she had important duties to take care of. However, at least she was getting some firebending practice.

Steve | Stair Room | ~∂єѕтιиу Steve wanted to hold this breath wishing if he closed his eyes the next time he would see his friends grinning, taking a dive in his pool. The only diving he would do was diving into a strange dream having no one else to be with other than the hooked man. He wasn't kneeling if so much had an urge to keel over and call it a day as he should have, the teen stood there in utter shock. The brunette winced, unable to focus on anything around him in the near vicinity proving that maybe in his attempts to impress those attending the party had been in vain. When the adrenaline calmed down he caught Hook glancing at the room deciding that the world wasn't ending like last time. No, he was treating this like a small inconvenience, humoring even causing Steve to pipe up on the matter."The hell do you mean alright? You're treating this like its a walk in the park." He did say he had experience. By all means he wasn't aggressive towards the pirate but emotion clung onto his exasperated exclamation. That and the fact his hook had a nasty gleam to it proving it worthwhile to keep his mouth shut if he didn't want to be gutted where he stood. Shoving his innate disgust aside he had to take it in stride as his room buddy had pointed out so kindly, clearly an exaggeration by all means. "God this can't be worse than the volcano." He muttered to himself, nerves lingering when he copied Hook taking in the abyssal environment. The unlikely pair's spat progressed them to descend further down the intricate rooms, pieces and parts of stairs continued floating in the air at a slug's pace. (Computer's being rude today which is why it took awhile to respond.)

Vince | power room | Sησω mintedstar/furVincent seemed entirely disinterested by anything Mable had to say, only giving Myrnin a sideways look when he stared rhyming. He wasn’t all too impressed with the vampire’s ability to string together elementary level insults in such a fun little way; but it did prompt him to look towards the younger blinker again. “Vincent,” he corrected steadily, glancing back to the table as Myrnin grabbed the paperwork he’d left for him. He watched for the vampire’s reaction expressionlessly - then grinned as he plucked something he seemed satisfied with. He stepped backwards a few paces, sending a nonchalant gaze out the window as Myrnin scowled him for being unjust, his smile lingering. He then loudly snapped his fingers at the girl, pointing at the papers where they lay before turning the gesture into an open palm; evidently inviting her towards them. He then crossed his arms and eyed the others in the room, waiting for someone else to act as a patient smile stayed on his face.

That should do it. No way that fanged shrub would get its jaws on anyone now. The fly trap, or what was left of it anyway, lay scattered in fine pieces around the jungle floor. Its ability to instantly replace any severed heads had been imposing at first, until it proved to be its downfall. Too busy trying to out-regrow the wind slashing it apart, it offered no resistance when a sword blade found its way into the base of the main stem, severing it down to the root. Taking advantage of this short lull, Sandalphon retreated back towards the other blinkers, rejoining them just in time to catch sight of the older girl fending off some other plants with a display of... Fire magic? This was the first time he'd seen anyone else here wielding it. Completely unaware of her uncertainty about him, he was unable to resist letting out an amused grunt. "Heh. Explains that brashness from before. Power over fire does tend to make those with it think they're the 'hot stuff'." Cheeky as he was being, any amount of assistance was appreciated, and the fact she could defend herself removed some of the weight off his own shoulders. Find higher ground? The height of where they stood mattered not if this flora could simply follow after. The human boy's proposal caused Sandalphon's gaze to wonder upward in thought, towards the hole he had left in the jungle canopy, and the welcoming blue sky beyond. Damn, if it was only the two smaller children, he could easily have lifted them out. Heck, just the chance to fly up there and get a look at the terrain would have been a big help too. Something impossible to do without leaving the rest of the group at the mercy of carnivorous plants. Until one of them revealed she held power of her own anyway. It was then an idea struck the Primarch. Peering over to once again address her with a questioning glance, "Say, do you think you can set the area around us alight and keep it continually maintained? Just enough to keep our foes away for a few minutes."

"Ahh, I'm going to lose my train of thought," they remarked, not irritated at all by that fact. Calmly, they tossed their stick onto the nearest couch and headed for the hallway, making a beeline straight for the nearest door.

</div></div>A newcomer blinked in. He was tall and lean, with a sharp, thin face and intense blue eyes. His long black hair was straight and fell halfway down his back, and he was wearing a shirt with a punk band logo on it, a black denim jacket, black ripped jeans, and black combat boots. Lucifer stopped walking. His surroundings had changed. He slid his hand into his pocket and his blue eyes searched the room, scanning it for any clues as to where he was. “Michael?” He asked the air carefully, breaking the silence at last. “This is an odd place to meet. Not like you. Where’s the chandeliers and gold candles? Where’s our siblings?” He knew the question would sting. That was, after all, the point of it. He took a step forward, towards the hallway. Then he finally caught sight of another person and he stopped. He didn’t recognize them. He could tell they were...what the hell we’re they?? Not human. He couldn’t see into their mind, though. He missed that. “Hello?” He said, taking another step forward, hand still in his pocket. “Who’s there?”

Hange | Living room | ®Hawkpath® |The second Lucifer blinked in, Hange stopped examining the doors and straightened up, craning their neck to see who had spoken. "Hange Zoe," they replied simply, "Is here. And you are...." They paused, taking a small step forward and tilting their head. "Human," they decided at last, a hint of disappointment in their tone. Lucifer watched the other person - Hange Zoe - carefully. He didn’t know what they were. Human? No. Angel? No. Demon? No. He wasn’t familiar with their species, which made him nervous. He hated not knowing things.
He stiffened as they called him human. He opened his mouth to correct them, then reigned himself in, because that was a very bad idea. Instead, he tilted his head slightly and gave a short bow. “Henry.” He said. “And new to what, exactly?”

Or, at least, could not compete with the rewards of whatever it was they were trying to do. "Your name's not Henry," they contradicted, and with a good, solid tug, ripped the doorknob off of the door and held it up to the light, turning it a little to examine all sides of it. "It's alright though. As for your question - this place is called the Paradox House. As for what it is, I don't know, but it seems to be potentially sentient, and is not connected to time as we perceive it in our own worlds. Lucifer hesitated, then walked forward to join them. He wasn’t about to be left behind when there was something happening, and this certainly counted. He didn’t understand what was happening, and that meant he needed to find out. He froze, then turned his wide eyes on the other blinker as they stated a fact they shouldn’t have known. They were right, of course. Whatever they were, he needed answers about it, now. “And you’re not human.” He retorted, raising an eyebrow at them. “Now are you? So what are you, exactly? You’re not an angel or a demon. And your information, though partially correct, is a bit faulty. So you can’t read my mind, but you can tell other things about me. Am I wrong?”

They were silent for a second, thinking, then straightened up, a wide grin on their face. "Ah! I have an idea," they said, flinging the doorknob aside so hard it made a dent in the wall. Lucifer met their eyes with his own shocking blue ones. They seemed to be quite knowledgeable about this place, this...Paradox House. He didn’t know what he should say to stay safe, and he wasn’t sure how much this creature could know from looking at him. So, he was just going to have to be careful. Ah yes. His strongest suit. He watched the doorknob as it flew, and his eyes widened slightly as it dented the wall. So super strength, then. Even more reason to be careful. He tilted his head and stared at them for a long moment, then gave a small smile and dipped his head. “I accept.” He said simply. It was the best way by far to get answers, and he didn’t mind giving some information away. If he could figure out how they could tell when he was lying, he could also find a way around that in case of difficult questions. He looked at the door. “What, exactly, is in these rooms, anyway?”

"As you'll find out for yourself, that's not an evasive answer, it's a truthful one. The contents of the rooms behind these doors changes each time you open them. I am still working on finding a way to predict it." They smiled, gesturing down the hallway. "Now. Pick a door! I will ask my question once we're inside."

“Are you going to be so forthcoming with all your answers?” The fallen angel asked sarcastically, narrowing his eyes at them. If they were just going to avoid answers, then there was no point to this. He shook his head slightly, then turned and faced the long hall. For the first time, he realized just how huge it was, and he couldn’t see the end of it even with his eyesight. He hesitated, then began to jog down the hall, looking for an end to it. After several minutes, he stopped. “Is there an end to this?” He demanded, looking over his shoulder at the other blinker. He spun on his heel and grabbed a doorknob at random, opened it, and stepped inside without waiting to see whether they would follow.

"I've walked probably eight or so miles down it before with no end, but you can't really know if there's an end unless you find an end, can you?" Quickly, they wandered inside after their new companion, their eyes widening as they found themself in a massive, sprawling building, covered in furniture and household fixings of all kinds. The lights were unpleasantly bright and unnaturally white - something they'd found was the case with many of these strange casings that didn't seem to be candles. They still hadn't figured out how they worked. "Welcome to your first room," said Hange. "I will be taking notes. Feel free to do the same. Now, as for my first question..." “True enough.” Lucifer agreed. He knew they were right, but he still wished that there was some way he could know. If he still had his powers, for example...no. He couldn’t think like that. The room was huge. Lucifer started around, turning in a full circle to take it all in. It was… It was a f(oops!)ing IKEA. “Are you serious?” He asked no one in particular, crossing his arms over his chest. “What is this? I was expecting something unusual.” He was actually disappointed, to his own surprise. He looked at his new companion, who seemed quite intrigued by the store. “I’ve got a good memory.” He told them, turning to face them as they asked their first question. Well. That was not what he’d been expecting. “What do you mean?” He asked warily, watching them carefully.

"Nice to meet you!" Mabel chimed. She didn't understand why Myrnin had called Vincent 'Mice', but she hoped it was just a joking insult. After all, they were friends, right? And friends never said mean things to each other. Most likely, he was just trying to make the other man feel better. He didn't seem to be in the best of moods. Though she had shown no prior interest in the papers, the other blinkers seemed like they wanted her to look at them. She pulled them out of Vincent's hands and began to flip through them. She hadn't expected them to be anything of note, but as she observed the pages, her eyes widened in interest. "Are these from a comic? There was the kicker. "See, I knew you would say that crap!" Joey raised a finger motioning at the detective. Regardless of how confusing his experience was, it felt a little nice to have the upper hand on him. Even if it meant he'd dig his grave deeper than it already was. "So get this," The younger of the pair motioned with his hands, recounting his harrowing tale. "I got inside the house or whatever you want to call it, but yeah I probably died in the house. That's when everything went wrong because I turned into a skeleton! An actual skeleton!" God it was experasting the first time he tried to explain it. Frankly he didn't give a damn if he got some convoluted answer, just anything would work other than 'it is what is it'. "I was never a skeleton before or after so when that happened I met this demon called Tsu, then this mummy that called himself Kid walked up like it was no big deal. I thought I was a goner, like this was gonna be how it all ends. The next thing you know, I'm back home not a skeleton." Matt | Mall room | Lark |Matt raised his eyebrows as he was pointed at, and they stayed raised for several moments as he watched Joey wave his hands, completely befuddled as he began to tell his very strange tale. "Careful, they'll lock you up if you go around telling people you turned into a skeleton," he said, with a vaguely nervous laugh as he tried to figure out if he was being serious. "So...you blinked in, turned into a skeleton, then blinked back, and you were a person again. Sounds like a weird room...it's a little early for Halloween, too..." He shrugged. "Look, man, the rooms'll do weird shit to you sometimes. If I had an answer or an explanation I'd give it, but I probably don't know much more than you do. Even I only know what I've seen and been told. This place is an enigma." He peeked inside a store, raised his eyes at the black and spike-covered contents, and wandered back out into the main area again, deciding whatever was in there wasn't worth his time. Somewhere around here, there were hundreds and hundreds of expensive collectors' cards just free for the taking, and he was going to find them. "I find it's best to just not think about it too much," he said, turning back to Joey. "Not like you can do anything about it. You blink in when you blink in, you blink out when you blink out. Why worry?"
