ougi - winter lodge - sherlock / around zange
Ougi scooped the snow with her gloved hands while Sherlock monologued. The way she started to build up the foundation's structure vertically, inch by inch, was a backdrop to his building the case inch by inch. When he retracted the idea that Zange could merely see the future instead of being there, Ougi even shaved off one side of the first brick she had created. Then, she started work on the one beside it. She would continue in a circle until she had the foundations for the igloo, and she was making quick progress considering how leisurely her movements were.
"If we are using deduction, one must say that the only reason she died was because she knew us. And if she did, but we didn't know her, then there must be a version of her that doesn't know us. But it also means there is a version of us that does. Regardless of whether those us's are dead, we all died because we knew each other. It's obvious based on the note." On that, she didn't specify. What she was getting at, was that there was more information in themselves than Sherlock was giving credit for. If Zange died because she knew them, then it wouldn't be too difficult to pick out the likely culprits of their pasts and personalities. They could even delve into hypothetical universes to determine what relationships don't exist, but could have existed to cause such a devastating turn. It wouldn't just be helpful to Sherlock for finding out the entire situation, but it could be helpful to Ougi for finding out who exactly Zange was. This is when Ougi began to believe, that it was undeniably her fault that this Zange had died.
Then, she admitted that she didn't really want to be building an igloo. It had only been to get Sherlock to leave her alone with the body, a sentiment which she displayed with a waving of her hand in an ushering manner at him. "If you'd really like to find someone who knows who she is, that healer does." She knew Arlo's name, but didn't use it.

Vincent | Razzle Dazzle ®Hawkpath® Iceclaw - and around zange Vincent had vanished into the role of an onlooker, remaining mute and fully attentive while the two blinkers spent several ineffective moments trying to compromise with one another. The matter of debate seemed to be nothing of critical importance, though he suspected that Ougi was acting on skepticism for Sherlock’s quality. As a man of observation, the detective needed to remember that by allowing himself be blinded by emotion - he was rendering himself useless. No one around here wanted a useless detective. It was because of that, he wondered if Ougi’s antics had been a thing of intentional productivity; or if she had even noticed that quickly after their discussion, Sherlock started rattling off various deductions. It was like clockwork. Whatever had happened, it had gotten everyone’s mind in the right place. Keen eyes moved upwards as Daud blinked in, immediately reminded of his personal suspect list. With Myrnin no longer filling the top space, it left Daud in the lead. His gaze narrowed on the assassin for a moment, aware that he still visibly bore the bandage from the bite he’d received in the murder room. The bite that had been followed by his execution for a crime he didn't commit. Should his suspect list be anywhere near accurate, perhaps Daud had something to do with that. He glanced back down at the body of the current room, raising his eyebrow at it. The two had confirmed his previous thought, being that she was from the future. They’d also discussed why she’d been carrying a note with her, being that she knew she was dying. The question for him, was how she’d managed to know she’d be blinking into this timeline. He glanced after Sherlock and Ougi, then towards the lodge as more blinkers went inside and surrendered their attempts to solve the mystery. It was strange how little such ‘admirable’ people cared. He glanced back down, kneeling down next to her head, studying her face. The healer...Ougi said...the healer meaning Arlo. He leaned backwards, certain he was out of the way as he thought. She’d been so sad in the moment of her dying, speaking so fondly of memories only she carried. She’d come carrying warnings, but she died with grace. Had it meant she’d said everything that needed to be said? How had she died content? What were they supposed to have learned? He glanced towards Sherlock, “What did the note say?” He asked, rising to his feet.

A hint of bemuse crossed Vincent’s face as Julius introduced two unfamiliar places. He noted that the man used their names in manner that suggested - should he be from the same plane of existence - that he should know where they were. He exhaled with a soft huff of laughter at Julius’ question, absently picking at his scar while they continued to walk. “Ah,” he hummed in agreement, still smiling slightly. He didn’t bother offering a name of his own, as it seemed pointless. The idea of Julius’ world something entirely different than his own was both terrifying and intriguing. It provided him with a lot to process, mostly about what the house was giving him access to; a discussion of which seemed far too philosophical for his taste. After all, thinking too deeply about the science of magic sounded like a good way to upset his comfort theory - that the house was, and would continue to be, nothing but a very peculiar, and serial, hiccup in his psych. Knowing that this was likely false was something better left suppressed. “Elisia,” he said thoughtfully to himself, as if summiting it to memory. He then glanced back at Julius, both hands returned to their position behind his back. “Is that of common place?” He asked, eyeballing the viper’s tail as he spoke. Julius briefly looked at Vincent as the man repeated the country's name. Elisia's culture was quite different from his own country's, but it was something he had grown accustomed to. He did want to visit Flumentis again some time in the future. It was a dream to bring his sister and the pup along with him. Common place...? "Well..." He paused to gather his thoughts. "It's not as small as other countries, but Elisia is the newest country in my world." Flumentis as an independent country was hundreds of years older than Elisia. His home country was a major exporter of spices and fruits, and played a bigger role in the world's economy than Elisia did. He stopped walking and turned his body to face the doors. Since Vincent was now following him, Julius would feel a little weird walking endlessly in the hallway. Perhaps a room could entertain him, now them, for a bit. Vincent’s brows raised briefly to express his interest. That was something they had in common then, though, to differentiate, they had already discussed that Julius was not quite as involved with the country’s politics as he was. The importance of that was minimal, as Julius seemed to speak fondly of his home regardless. He slowed when Julius stopped, going past him a few steps before stopping and looking towards the same door. He glanced at the viper’s back, crossing his arms and transferring his weight onto one hip as he waited for him to enter or not. A small smirk played on his lips, as he was fairly certain he knew what had motivated the abrupt change in agenda. The snake’s discomfort wasn’t about to make him turn away quite yet, however.

Vincent | Temple?? Room | <Raintalon> In hint to his frustration, a smirk tugged at Vincent’s lip for an instant, a periodic tell at how peeved he was. By refusing to explain her abilities, the ghoul was making it irritating to have to rely on them. He didn’t like wagering his success on uncertain factors, particularly when the only thing preventing him from clarity was someone else’s ignorance. He supposed if Touka wanted to make his life more difficult, he would just have to keep it in mind while playing the game they were already coiled in. In fact, he was better off allowing the ghoul to think she had the upper hand. Calming himself with this, he took in a quiet breath through his nose - then let it out with a sharp sigh to remind his company of his ‘discontentment’. He stayed a few paces behind her, seeming to expect that she’d remain in the lead. After all, these traps were designed to snag humans, according to her, so she’d be fine. In truth, staying behind gave him an opportunity to study her stride, as well as consider his plan to be the one leaving the room alive - in the instance the house wasn’t bluffing.

(excuse me as I yell into a pillow.) Chamomile | Lodge -- Pre- Zange Death | @ everyone Wordlessly the wildclaw’s body stirred further and further in her dreamless sleep. No one had yet recalled her waking moment as it was sure to happen at some point. Waking her at the time was not ideal given the larger, sharp talon and beak spoke for themselves. Such features garnered suspicion anyone with sense wouldn’t bother the resting giant. No, the giant would not greet the blinkers with a feral ferocity but a vacant, glassy stare. She could have been awake at that point grasping two words. Cham. Mother. A period of time passed as the two words sat in her head despite the presence of a leviathan - a god presiding in the house. Not for long as the soul faded and the chatter from the others flooded in its place. Chamomile | Lodge -- Post- Zange Death | @ everyone It wasn’t long for the tears to roll down her rough cheeks. Chamomile’s eyes blurred more than usual clearly discomforted by something rather than a someone. Zange was visibly lying dead not too far from her peripheral though seeing another soul wither in her sight was not uncommon. The cause behind it was unknown but if it was able to create a scene and burnout this big it was worth the concern. Her emotions on the other hand were numb save for a deep pang of sadness the yokai's sputtering incurred. Truth be told the wildclaw's expression displayed a disturbed look about it, for someone so stoic could be swayed to tears. "This was..." Ah, the shock drained her energy just as it did to anyone else. "Early." Never would she had thought of herself outliving the stranger who presented themselves as all knowing. Her body became life like once again when she consciously twitched her beak. "Earlier than expected." The mage turned to the vampire who see flinched for his words dragged her back into the reality of the situation. Myrnin's questions only resulted in more questions. "How am I supposed to know?" She concurred, her voice growing steeley. She had just met a charming druid not too long ago, the inkling of a heir amongst Zange's visions was absurd. She hadn't seen a future with them nesting, not in world filled with never ending turmoil. "One terrible omen after another, I can't deny that the words bound me to something strange yet certain. Did you feel it to? The awful forewarning?" The tears at this point stopped dripping onto the lodge floor now replace by a much calmer visage than before.

Myrnin | Worst Cooks in America The House | Clo and strider The pigeon was not being very nice to him. Myrnin dashed after it with a furious speed that was only just under the normal speed of a vampire. This pigeon was not going to get the best of him. He was hungry, okay. Blinking into the House meant he was still hungry. There was just the smell of other food in the room and it was annoying. "Why House?" he asked, looking around the room without really taking it in. There was a lot about it that wasn't really going to be important to it. He really couldn't eat any of it. There was a little piece of paper on his table. He assumed it was his table or something. It was the one he had blinked in in front of. He picked it up lazily, wondering if the House was going to feed him. It would be nice if it would. If that would be considered synthetic blood if the House created it? He didn't know. But instead it was just some sort of instructions on cooking. 'Cook your favorite meal for the judges. You have 60 minutes.' "What is this joke?" he asked.

</div> Will | Art Room | <Raintalon> Will thought about that for a moment, absentmindedly smudging the color on his page so it would blend just a little better from the yellow to the orange. It wasn’t something he’d ever considered before… it was just the way the world was. People got angry about anything that didn’t fit the mold set before them. Or at least that’s how it was in middle school. Elementary school and before had been a lot easier. Nobody cared what color you liked or if you could play sports or what books you read. “I wish more people thought like that,” he admitted. Maybe then he could draw in school more often and he and his friends wouldn’t have to worry so much about bullies. Maybe Mei was right, maybe here were different. “I… hate to ask, but are there things people in your world judge you for that you can’t change? I guess you’re right, it is pretty silly that people do… maybe it’s just in Hawkins, though. Maybe that’s not what the rest of the world is like.” The thought of a world without bullies, where people could do whatever they wanted… it was a beautiful thought. One that Will would probably look back on when he needed to. The world could do with more people with Mei’s point of view.

A young woman blinked into the House. She was wearing an over-sized coat, her shoulders hunched up. As her surroundings changed, she yelped, turning rapidly on her heels to see everything around her. It was... a kitchen. An odd, fancy-looking kitchen. Stuffed with food everywhere. She turned back to the counter and pulled a butcher's knife from the knife block. How had she gotten here, anyways? Was she hallucinating? She heard someone's voice and gripped the handle tighter. There was a man, looking at a piece of paper. She didn't recognize him, and he didn't seem to realize she was there either. She opened her mouth to say something, but found her voice caught in her throat. She closed her mouth, biting her lower lip. Now, how to get herself out of this situation...

(Bleh, it's been a rough week. Still trying to put my muse back together. Sorry if my writing quality is worse then usual pfft.) "Right you are." Sandalphon hummed with his back towards Rowlin, a bit preoccupied to properly turn around at the moment. The serving he was currently working on was almost done, it just needed another minute to finish. "Hmm. This is the second time I've been provided the things needed to brew coffee here, and I noticed that during both, we were left the same type of beans." He mused outloud, personally finding the matter quite curious. "From what I could gather, they were cultivated in some land called 'Starbucks' and are of... presentable make. Regardless, seems they're a favorite of our unseen host." In a display of well practiced movement, the moment the brew was done, the Primarch retrieved a few mugs sitting off to the side and filled them up. He then tried his own first, testing it to make sure the batch was presentable, closing his eyes as he took a moment to studiously observe the quality and flavor. Eh. They still weren't anywhere near the level of Lucifer's beans, but they'd do. They did taste a bit better without any additives this time though. "It's straight black, my personal preference. If that all bothers you, speak up and I'll try something else next round." Sandalphon again turned back towards Rowlin, free hand gripping another mug full of the bitter black drink, which was of course offered to the other blinker. "Apologies if the quality is at all lacking." The archangel's expression was still one of seriousness, however, there was now more lightness in his demeanor. He was still well aware of the possible severity of the situation they were all facing, but being allowed to partake in his favorite hobby helped relieve the tension. While waiting for the other blinker to retrieve, or perhaps deny, what he was being offered, "So... Care to tell me what was troubling you earlier?"

Crutchie | Worst Cooks in America the House | Cloverleaf mintedstar/fur “Nobody wants to read about no government corruption!” Crutchie protested, arms crossed. “You-” he broke off as he noticed the House around him. It was rather nice to be back, to have a break from yet another day of terrible headlines and people in power having the ability to do whatever they wanted without being checked by regular people they had control of. There was none of that in the House, it seemed, and Crutchie was grateful. He was aware of course, that he was in the House, but he had no idea where, exactly, he was. He didn’t recognize most of the things in the room around him, but if he had to hazard a guess it was a kitchen of some sort. There was food in the room, which was a good indication that his suspicions were correct. Crutchie also recognized Myrnin from at least one other room. The girl with the knife, on the other hand, was a stranger. Crutchie had a feeling she was new to the House from how she was looking around, but he wasn’t sure how to tell her that it was okay, she could put the knife down. “’Scuse me,” he said instead, keeping a safe distance from her. “Are you alright, miss?”

Myrnin | Worst Cooks in America The House | Clo and striderWell. That hasn't stayed empty for very long. Now it was just Myrnin and two humans (who smelled great. He sniffed the air, just a little, and then looked away). He glanced down at the note again, then at the women who had just appeared in the room. "That knife," he pointed out. "Is probably not made for whatever you're intending to use it for." He chewed at the side of his thumb, thinking about it for a second, and then pointed at Crutchie using the same hand he had been using. "And you're that boy," he said, not sure what his name had been or anything like that. It was nothing within his head that hinted at the tension under his eyes. It was just a mix of thoughts. "Government corruption and a knife. I think this is a bit too deep for me." The corners of his mouth twitched. "Who are you, Knife Girl."

Eurydice lowered her eyes, taking in the situation. The small voice of another drew her attention, and she took in the sight of the boy in clothes ragged like her own, leaning against a crutch. He seemed... nonthreatening, to phrase it nicely. She didn't answer if she was alright or not. It wasn't like he would care. He looked like he had his own problems to worry about. People didn't want someone else to bog them down. Instead, she asked, "Where... is this?"
She felt eyes on her and narrowed her eyes at the man two tables away. He was looking at her almost... hungrily. She hunched her shoulders a little bit more. "That's life, pal."
"Who're you?" She countered, jutting her chin out, pointedly not answering his question as well as pointedly not setting said knife down.

Crutchie | Worst Cooks in America The House | Clo and mintedstar/fur Crutchie frowned at Myrnin. He didn’t like being referred to as “that boy,” like he had no consequence at all. He doubted Myrnin meant it that way, but it still pricked at him. That was what he was referred to by the people who didn’t care if he lived or died in his own world, who thought that someone like him shouldn’t be selling papers, who were just as likely to report him to the police even if he did nothing wrong as they were to buy a paper from him. Setting that thought aside, he turned to deal with the girl with the knife. “This is the Paradox ‘ouse,” Crutchie replied, trying to appear as friendly as possible to the girl. “You’ll go ‘ome, soon, I promise.” He smiled lightly. “Name’s Crutchie,” he added, sticking his hand out in case Eurydice wanted to shake it. That was the polite thing to do as far as Crutchie knew, but he knew some people in the House were particular about that. There was no expectation if she didn’t want to, though.

Myrnin Worst Cooks in America The House | Clo and strider"Name's Myrnin," said Myrnin without hesitation. He took a breath in, then out, and stepped forward and attempted to push at the point of the knife so it wasn't pointing upward anymore. "Has no one taught you how to hold a knife? You're supposed to cook with it, not wave it around like you have threats on the brain." It seemed like both of the veteran blinkers was paying attention to the new blinker, but then as soon as Crutchie said his name, Myrnin was paying attention to him. He didn't talk down to people, but he did forget the names. Under his breath, he was muttering "Crutchie" over and over again in a tone which was just audible. "Yeah," he added, in a actual voice of normal sound. "This is the Paradox House. Apparently the cooking version of it anyway." He turned around slowly. "I can smell ... lettuce ... somewhere. And tomatoes. And uncooked meat." He took a step forward, his finger somehow still on the tip of the woman's knife. There was a drop of blood blooming on the tip of his finger now.

Eurydice shifted her pose, taking in the clean, brightly lit kitchen. This was so foreign. She felt out of place. But the kid- Crutchie- seemed more familiar, and nice enough to ask questions to. "Go home? Back to where I just was? Like magic?"
He had held out his hand for her to shake, but the knife was clutched in her right hand. She lowered it slightly, but she wasn't going to set it down anytime soon. She gave a light shrug and held out her left hand instead, the ghost of a sheepish smile flashing across her face.
Eurydice wavered from her place at the kitchen counter as Myrnin approached her. Her steps were jerky, like she was caught between holding her ground and keeping her distance. She pressed the knife forwards against his finger, wincing at the blood that appeared. "Don't come near me."
Her expression perked up at the mention of food, though she didn't lower her guard. She was so hungry.

Crutchie | Worst Cooks in America The House | Clo and mintedstar/fur Crutchie had to admit that if he were to be on the wrong end of a knife… he wouldn’t be reprimanding said knife-wielder about how to use the knife. Maybe that was just him. He looked away at the sight of blood, and was relieved that Eurydice herself seemed uncomfortable with the sight. Eurydice seemed nice, and he didn’t want to ruin that image with one of a girl who was happy spilling blood. Though he could understand that she felt threatened. Myrnin was… intimidating, to say the least. He was glad to know his name for certain, now. If he had known it before he had sadly since forgotten. Pushing the thought aside, Crutchie shifted, placing his right hand back on the handle of his crutch and responding to Eurydice by reaching out his left hand as well and shaking with more strength and warmth than it seemed a kid his age was likely to have. She was nice, Crutchie decided. “I guess it’s like magic,” he responded, a small smile appearing on his face. “Right back to where you was, then you might come back here a bit, but it won’t change nothing where you’re from.” He did notice that she hadn’t offered a name, but he wasn’t inclined to press. With the way Myrnin had been looking at them both when they had blinked in, he wasn’t sure he would have given his name out in this place if he hadn’t known what it was.

Myrnin | Worst Cooks in America The House | Clo and strider Myrnin was not convinced that this was going to be a room he was going to survive. He retracted his hand from the tip of the newbie's knife. It seemed like he was off on the wrong foot with them. "Oh?" he said with a hum. "If magic is the easiest way for you to explain it ... then go for it." His voice sounded a bit critical. But he was already turning away, his golden rod yellow spotted shirt clinging to him in a fashion that showed each movement ooof his shoulders and the sarcasm under them. "You going to work out how this room yet? Because I will not be making food for you." He was back to the table that he had claimed as his own. He picked up the piece of paper, a spot of his his own too red blood getting onto the edge of the folds. "Food," he said. "It says to cook your favorite food for "judges" - wherever they are - and you have 60 minutes. So? Any chance you both will be doing that?" He was a bit too snappy - he was hungry too.

Eurydice nodded slowly at Crutchie, taking in the situation. She didn't fully understand, but there was nothing she could do about it right now. Magic didn't seem to be quite right, according to that man, but he declined to explain further. So she'd have to figure it out on her own.
"We get to use the food?" Eurydice questioned, her gaze drifting to the pantry behind them. She stared for a bit too long, pressing her lips together. Actually, no one seemed to be really in charge. The three judges' chairs were empty. No one was watching.
She waited for a moment, then darted over to the pantry, her steps unsure but quick once she'd taken the first one. She picked up a peach and took a bite, her eyes fluttering closed as the sweet flavor exploded over her tongue. "Mmm."

"Rather low," muttered The Doctor. She glanced over her shoulder at the ship that they were leaving behind. It looked very different from the outside. For starters, it was a lot bigger than even The Doctor had expected. One 'wing' was crumpled like a tin can, while the main body was badly damaged, holes peppering it and truly a sad sight to see. "I don't know when it will blow up," murmured The Doctor. "But that damage looks too bad to have escaped any of dat." The Doctor's arms were only released when they had gotten a good distance away - almost to the other side of what The Doctor was assuming was a park. This was not before she noticed that this part of the park didn't include any sort of vegetation and instead had plated white panels in a square pattern. This was nothing she had ever faced before. She was used to running into planets that she had at least heard of - in myths or legends at the very least - but this was no such planet. "Okay," she said to Volt. "What do you think?" They had been blinkers at the same time, but they were both aliens. Matt was human, who had experience with games no doubt. The Doctor glanced at him as well, waiting to see if he had any of his own input. She honestly was fairly certain that the only thing they could do was wait for the ship to blow up so their captors could deal with them. That didn't take long after The Doctor was looking at it. Their 'new friends' either had very sturdy ships or they must have done something, because the explosion was more of a very impressive inward collapse with several flurries of sparks and small fires budding from the rubble. Three forms reappeared with pops of displaced air not to far away, a case between them. The case was dropped to the ground - carefully - and then all three turned to look at The Doctor, Volt, and Matt. "No sign of the crew," one said. "They wouldn't have left this package." The voice was harsh and clipped. "Do you want to do a better job of explaining this? What are you? Where are you from? We want ... answers."

</div> Mei | Art room | strider |Mei stopped drawing for a moment, considering what Will had said. "My world isn't better than yours," she said shortly, picking up her blending stump again and adding a few finishing touches to what was shaping up to be an impressively realistic depiction of a dandelion that had gone to seed. "I'm sorry. Would it have made you happy to hear that people are kinder in my world than in yours, or would you have envied me?" She asked the question in a flat, analytical sort of tone - she was genuinely curious to hear his answer, because she wasn't quite sure she understood why he'd asked the question. Maybe he was just looking for someone to relate to - being an outcast could be very lonely, and it helped to share the title. She knew that much.

Rex exclamation was probably what had most drawn Myrnin's attention. Chamomile's reaction had stumped him. He'd asked the Wildclaw, almost in a joking manner, if she had any children. He hadn't actually assumed that she would start crying like this or that she might take the question as more than what he had said. Zange looked human. The sentence 'Cham ... mother' couldn't possibly mean that Cham was Zange's mother. But maybe his flippant way of responding to Zange's death had been an issue. Hesitantly, he reached out and patted the side of the Wildclaw. "Hey, I don't think this is it or anything," he said, trying to search for something to say that might make this better. There wasn't much. "She'll probably be back and you can ask her what she meant then." But she had still died. And somehow the House was preventing someone from healing her. "Maybe you should go inside?" suggested Myrnin. Things weren't exactly calmer in there, but they might be. That was when, as previously mentioned, Rex snagged his attention because of his exclamation. He slipped in through the door, reentering for the most part, and then pushed his way further in. His position just inside the doorway was all well and good, but apparently there were blinkers who wanted his attention. Somewhere along the lines, Touka had blinked in and now she was talking to him, her heartbeat (or whatever stood in for a ghoul that Myrnin would be familiar enough with by now to recognize) beating slightly irregularly. "I've been in the lodge before," he said, lips curling with just a bit of curiosity under his tone. But he didn't press. Usually he would, but something was telling him that he shouldn't. Or maybe he was still distracted by Zange's proclamation. After all, he had no heartbeat to give his secrets away. It hardly seemed fair. "I don't think the House could get sick of Mister Rex," Myrnin said, snapping out of it and speaking up as Touka did, glancing first in her direction then in Rex's. "Though you are right. He has been absent for a little while." He tapped his foot against the floor, humming under his breath, and then added, "How have you been Touka?" He hadn't seen her since the Murder Mystery Room, which hadn't been that long ago, so it seemed likely that she had skipped ahead rather than him. How long though he didn't know?

Sam | Lodge | Daud The small boy did take a step to the side, looking embarrassed still, but also rubbing at the side of his head as he looked up at Daud with a bit of defiance. "Why so snappy?" he asked the assassin. Not impolitely, but as an inquiry of someone who was apparently not going to move at once. It was interesting. It was almost like looking at Daud should have been intimidating, but wasn't. "Who are you?" Sam asked instead, glancing back at Zange. Daud hadn't really blinked in for the proclamations of the dead blinker (Sam almost shuddered as he looked back), but Sam wasn't inclined to think that meant much. This all felt like a setup. He hadn't been sure about the House before, but now he was distinctly reminded of the clones and feeling like he was a pawn.

Without another word, Julius approached the door and opened casually. He wondered if he'll find himself in another store kicking a smelly emo in the head. He wasn't sure why he was suddenly reminded of the incident, perhaps it was because the room was the first time he met Vincent. He was thankful that at least Vincent's scent wasn't terrible. Different, but tolerable. Not checking to see if Vincent was right behind, which Julius guessed the man still was, Julius stepped into the darkness. He widened his eyes a bit, looking down at the soft, fluffy cloud he just stepped on. It was almost like stepping on snow and a pillow at the same time. His feet sunk in and stopped so that he couldn't see the bottoms of his pants. He expected resistance when he stepped forward, like one would with deep snow, but was pleasantly surprised at the light weight. He looked up and around as he took a few steps forward. The sky was littered with fast moving clouds; they all moved in different directions, some forwards and others upwards. Julius figured he had to be careful of where the clouds began and ended, he didn't know if there was even a ground below the sky in this room.

Vincent | Cloud Course Room | NumquamVincent unfolded his arms as Julius entered, staring at his back for a moment before walking after him. He became immediately distracted from his company as his feet sunk, causing him to glance down in surprise. His breath caught in his throat as he saw what was beneath him, seeming to expect himself to fall. When he didn’t, however, he was left perplexed, then fascinated. The white accumulation swallowed his shoes entirely, the fog swirling around his pant leg as he slid one foot across the impermeable surface they seemed to be on. He eventually looked up from his shoes and took a look around at the sky, quickly finding himself at a loss for his breath again. He took a few cautious steps towards the end of the cloud they were on, gawking at the expansive horizon. He glanced down, exhaling quietly as he saw the blue only faded into a pale haze of undefinable height. He stepped backward slowly, then turned to Julius, raising his eyebrows to indicate that falling wasn’t ideal. Unless jumping was the point...in which case this room would be a real bitch.

~∂єѕтιиуJulius put his hands back in his pockets as he casually strolled forwards. He observed his surroundings to note the movement of the clouds, and if anything else popped up that needed attention. So far, it was just clouds. His curiosity did peak at the clouds that traveled upwards. He watched one go up, and it seemingly disappeared once it was high enough. He also noticed when one disappeared, another one right below followed its trail. Almost like a slow moving line of clouds, only the clouds within the line weren't close to one another. From a distance, Julius could also see clouds moving straight downwards. Similar to the ones that went upwards, once these clouds lowered far enough, they disappeared completely. He looked behind them, and there were no clouds at all. He looked to his right and left, and also noted no clouds. Just endless sky. Interestingly, to the sides of their cloud, other clouds would randomly appear right next to them and fly forwards. He watched these new clouds and noticed that they too suddenly disappeared after travelling a certain length. The cloud that they were on didn't move at all, and there were no clouds directly in front of it either. It seemed like the only way to move in this room was to jump on the clouds that moved. He noticed that those forward-moving clouds disappeared just as they passed by another stationary cloud that was quite a ways in front of them. Strolling to his right, he waited for one of these clouds to appear. He glanced at Vincent, and jumped just as one such cloud appeared.

Vincent was beginning to notice the pattern in the sky as well, given that Julius had been too distracted by it to pay him any attention. His eyes narrowed curiously as he watched a cloud appear to his side, tracking it’s speed and the location in which it stopped. Should he try to, he could see what was perhaps...a path. Interesting. He wondered for a moment if, with the right-
He turned sharply toward his right as he watched Julius jump off their cloud, the other man suddenly abandoning him with no remorse. He stepped after him instinctively, though froze quickly after when the cloud took off toward the next without him. While Julius went with it, he started to form what sounded like the start of the viper’s name, and then perhaps a word of protest, then finished with muttered words of incoherent confusion. He drew away from his quiet panic and looked forwards intently, watching Julius’ course. He was nervous - not for the snake - but for what the snake’s actions inevitably meant for himself. He was going to have to follow. How the [oops] had that happened?
He gave an irritated look to his left as a cloud appeared, huffing anxiously as it took off without him as well. Willing himself to jump was easy enough, as it was the most practical thing to do, but it didn’t change the conscious acknowledgment of just how heigh they were. Should he drop, there wouldn’t be much of system to put back together. Ah, still, there were worse way to go. He tracked to the right, glanced after Julius, and cursed his name under his breath. He tugged sharply at his collar as a cloud appeared, and with a pleasant word to make his last, stepped out towards the cloud - landing safely on a solid surface. He had to steady himself hurriedly, as it was moving fairly quickly after he made the jump, but he certainly took the time to release a sigh of relief. Next, he eyed the next point he’d have to target, knowing that he was sadly not finished after the first leap.

Julius simply stood, hands still in his pockets, as the cloud carried him forward. He enjoyed the cool wind that came from the cloud moving so quickly. Despite the pinkish-orange sky, he noticed there was no sun in sight. If it weren't for the fact that this cloud will disappear upon reaching its destination, Julius would have sat down. Instead, he watched as a stationary cloud came closer and closer.
The moment the opportunity presented itself, Julius hopped off of his cloud and onto the un-moving one. He turned, and noticed that his cloud paused momentarily before disappearing. He then looked around, seeing that the next moving cloud hadn't appeared yet. He kept occasionally glancing around, unsure where this new cloud will show up.

Vincent, who was currently less cognizant of the grace and beauty in his surroundings, kept his eye on the stationary cloud for most of the journey. He recalled how Julius had left his cloud, and, seeing that the viper was still in the same place, hastily followed suit. He quickly turned to watch as his transport dissipated where it had stopped, completely gone after only a few seconds of him being safely off it. Making note of that, he exhaled curtly, and then quickly had to suck in another breath as he realized he had held his breath for the entirety of his excursion.
He ran his fingers through his hair, turning a sharp eye on Julius’ back. The man had not once looked back to secure his safety, which was expected, but aggravating none the less. At the very least, the house seemed to recognize them as a duo, even if Julius didn’t. That much he could appreciate - for if he were correct in his seductive reasoning, the viper would only be able to keep his pace as quick as his struggling companion would allow him. By denying the snake the ability to get too far ahead, it allowed Vincent the time to calm some of his nerves from surviving the first obstacle. It also allowed him time to find his place on the opposing side of the cloud, assuming he’d have a moving piece of his own to take once the room decided to let them move onward. He said nothing to Julius, as he was sure the viper would say nothing to him.

At last, Julius noticed a cloud come upwards from the front. He watched, tilting his head back, as it floated up until eventually disappearing right in front of another high cloud. He walked towards the front of the stationary cloud and patiently waited a few seconds for the next cloud. Just like before, he jumped onto the new moving cloud and simply stood as it raised itself higher into the sky. He peered down to see if any ground was visible, but he couldn't see anything too far below. There was too much foggy mist to see the ground below.
Then do we just have to keep moving where the clouds want us to go? Julius thought that surely something must have been up. It couldn't have been as easy as moving with the clouds. He figured there would be some kind of surprise, some kind of trick, waiting for them eventually.
He kept the thought in the back of his mind as his cloud came close to the next stationary cloud. He quickly hopped off, noting that this stationary cloud was much bigger than the previous ones. He also noticed that this was the highest cloud; looking around, he saw that all the other clouds were below.
Julius couldn't help but stare at the sky ahead. This time, a breeze came by even without the cloud moving. Why rush through this room for now? It seemed peaceful enough. The beautiful view seemed to have lifted his mood, even if he he was in the same room as a man. Despite growing up in the city, Julius was always one for an outdoor view. He walked to the middle of the cloud and decided to sit down for a bit.
