(Yeah it's kind of murky but we more or less decided they were on par with our own technological advancements. It's why like half the characters are wearing jeans and leather jackets xD They have a form of internet/computer but it's very restricted in part because lacking technology and in part because of the Eye. Idk we're sort of building the world as we go :3)
"I mean, otherwise we could start passing them around to families we know are sympathetic to our cause...and then they can pass them on to someone who they trust, and so forth. Ironically, we might have less of a chance of the Eye finding us that way, but it'll also get to fewer people," Fuyumi wondered, mentally looking over her options. People with no web access would be left out completely with the first, but the second would be much slower and more tedious...

(Fuyumi on twitter omg xD)
"I suppose that's the wisest course of action," Fuyumi said, "I know how to record and log them so we don't lose them, but Ailok's going to have to handle setting up a web distributor. Once we have electronic copies, we can start passing them around."

(It's okay, I'm trying to figure out where to go with this rp so my posts are getting shorter too xD We could probably rp with some of my other characters now that Karoe/Irta's forms are done :3)
Fuyumi shook her head, "No, sitting around waiting has never done any good. Especially when the Eye is practically omnipresent. Besides, I know how to record the books electronically, I just need the right equipment for it. Which we may have to steal if none of you has a reader or an unlinked filedrive. The only thing we need our brilliant leader for is creating and securing a site." She said the word 'brilliant' with a dripping condescension. She had noticed some of the blind sparrows doubted Ailok. Because of his age, because of his past, because he put his sister before the cause. She didn't doubt his skill, but making wry comments about him seemed to be a regular pastime around here and it was one she readily partook in.

(It's fine! I'm just glad we seem to be on at the same time :3 )
Fuyumi nodded, "Of course. So does anyone have the material I just mentioned? Or are we literally going to have to go steal it? We can grab a reader just about anywhere but an unlinked filedrive is probably only going to be found in one of the locked scrapyards. Which means more guards, more fights..."
Lee shrugged, "My family might have an old reader. Filedrive, definitely not. They were all swapped out for linked ones when the Eye took over."
(lol I'm so tired)

Fuyumi shrugged, "Filedrives. Something to save the electronic copies on. Problem is, all the new ones are linked to the Eye's computer systems- if we bought one they'd know whatever was on it as soon as we saved it. So we need one of the older ones. Which were all carted off to the scrapyards, where commoners can't access them anymore. We'd have to break in but considering the messes going on in the streets, I don't think it'll be too heavily guarded."

Fuyumi's eyes narrowed, "So where do we start? Scrapyards are on the outskirts. That's a longer trip and it's harder to run from if we trip an alarm. It's gonna take a bit more planning."

Fuyumi frowned, "We wait till tomorrow- it's too late to do anything now. And then we head out to the eastern limits, that's the closest scrapyard around the city. We may need to scout it to see where the guards are and how the place is monitored- we really can't afford to be seen. There's probably a few shacks around the place where we can hide out, and we'll probably have to use one as a safehouse on the way back."

Fuyumi nodded. This mission was somewhat more tactic-oriented than what they'd been doing the past few weeks, which was mostly unprepared ambushes on transports and the like. With Ailok gone, his sparrows were beginning to get nervous. Fuyumi looked around at the others, "Get some sleep, we're leaving early." She herself finished off her tea while the others found some of the pillows and blankets stashed around the place. It was after Eye curfew, no one wanted to risk going home. She followed them and tucked herself into an old couch in a corner. She closed her eyes but it was a while before she slept.

Nate was walking along a street with a person on each side, a man and a woman. They were heading home after eating out when a group of uniformed men came around the corner behind them, chasing after them. Te three of them picked up their pace quickly, running as fast as they could as the Iron Eye bared down on them. When they realized that escape was futile, the man secretly hid Nate among some boxes as the woman distracted the Eye with some Firebending. When the man joined in, they started to attack the Eye, but the odds were not against their favor as the Eyes troops outnumbered the man and woman by 10 to 1. The man and woman quickly fell, dead before they even hit the ground, as Nate watched everything. The Eye left, searching for more people, for another boy to ruin his life. Nate ran towards the two, not believing that they were dead, refusing to believe it. He dropped to his knees and placed his hands on their chests, searching for the slightest hint of life in his parents bodies, but to no avail. Looking up to the sky, tearing streaming down his eyes, he let out a blood curling scream. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Nate woke up, breathing deeply, as he realized he just had a dream, that it didn't happen again. Panting hard, he sat up, running a hand through his hair as he tried to calm himself down with slow, steady breaths.

Fuyumi woke up a little while before everyone else. She watched the peace and quiet for a few moments, recalling how mornings in the desert with her tribe had been the same- she'd always be up before anyone else was. Then she noticed Nate give a jerk and sit up, looking confused and frightened. She contemplated staying silent, then her curiosity got the better of her and she asked, "Bad dream?"

Fuyumi wasn't one to argue about personal matters. She wasn't much of a talkative person at all. So she let Nate run out, trailing after him a few seconds later partly to see if she could get a new pot of tea- it wasn't bitter like at their last safehouse- and partly to keep a watchful eye on Nate. When people were emotional they tended to do crazy or dangerous things, and somehow Fuyumi wasn't in the mood to watch Nate pick an unwinnable fight with one of the Eye's patrols.

Nate sighed and sat down outside the safe house, leaning against the wall and staring into the horizon. Then, Nate did something that he hardly ever does, his eyes started to tear up, and he started to cry a little. He slow placed his head in his knees and wrapped his arms around them, so Fuyumi couldn't see him crying, he didn't want to seem weak or emotional, he was always the tough one. Slowly, he started to cry more and more, until his whole body was shaking with each tear that poured down his face, before splattering onto the concrete sidewalk underneath him.

Fuyumi watched Nate fall apart, feeling for once uncertain. She didn't know how to react to a person who was so clearly sad. When she had cried she had done so at night in her room when no one could see, and by morning she'd look cold and emotionless again. But Nate cried out in the open, even if he meekly tried to hide it. She got the feeling she should reassure him somehow or comfort him. But she didn't even know what was wrong, let alone how she should remedy it. She took a step towards the door, trying to find something, anything, to say. It'll be okay. Except likely it wouldn't, and she wasn't fond of sugarcoating things.

Fuyumi blinked, silently contemplating before asking, "What happened?" She wished her voice was warmer, more soothing. She always sounded so harsh, so unfeeling. But harsh and unfeeling was all she knew at this point. It was hard to break away from.

"Oh." Fuyumi said, not entirely sure how to react but still feeling a stir of pity, "That's awful. I'm very...sorry for your loss. When was it?" She tried to ignore the tiny guilty part of her that reminded her who she was working for. He didn't matter. No one mattered. Except her tribe.

Two years. Right at the start of the invasion. They had probably been stricter about curfew back then. Everyone had been a threat to them. Now things were going their way. She was helping them. She reminded herself she didn't care about them- not the Eye, not the Night. They didn't matter. If she was alive, if Shula was alive, if the library was never found by anyone on this plane, that's what mattered. So why did her heart hurt for this boy. "That's horrible." She sat down next to Nate, "No one deserves that." More quietly, she mumbled, "This war's taken so much from everyone. Too much."
