Plot
Seventeen years ago, the world was at peace- the Avatar kept watch as all four nations flourished among many new technological advancements, and a modern age of electrical marvels unfolded. Then, almost overnight, something changed- a society of metalbenders no one had ever heard of, the Iron Eye, rose up and took control of Ba Sing Se, shutting off the Earth Kingdom's links to the other nations and ushering in a watchful dictatorship that immediately and ruthlessly silenced the slightest hints of insurrection- their labs and workshops still work towards technological progress, but whatever they discover is kept from the public, and the people of the Earth Kingdom either have to give up their choices and assent to the Eye's laws, or they vanish never to be seen or heard from again. If the Eye has prisons, no one knows where they are, and most are scared of finding them. Two years ago, the Eye infiltrated the new technological capital of the world- the Fire Nation, and now two of the world's nations have fallen to their tyrannical rule and the Eye seems unstoppable. But an uprising that started and ultimately failed in Ba Sing Se- an order called the Platinum Night- has reappeared in the Fire Nation. And amidst all this, the Avatar is long gone, murdered by the Iron Eye when he first tried to interfere with their coup. Led by a group of enigmatic figures, the Night and the Eye are reaching a point of all-out war, and if the Night loses, so does the world. It is a conflict reaching from the depths of the Eye's forgotten prisons to the streets of the Fire Nation Capital, but only the Avatar can help end the Eye, and even if they were to emerge after all this time, they wouldn't last long before the ever-present Eye found them. ------------------------------

Plot Notes
(This section serves as notes/news on what is currently going on within the plot- newest events are at the bottom of the list)
❋ The avatar world in this plot is about as technologically advanced as our world. ❋ Juro is the Avatar, although he doesn't know it yet, and so far he serves the Iron Eye. ❋ Sovi Jae-Lan, known to the world and her own organization as the all-seeing or the green shadow, is the leader of the Iron Eye, stepping up to the position after the mysterious death of the Eye's previous, much more publicly known leader. Daichi, while not the highest of the Eye's lieutenants, is the only one permitted to contact her directly, to know Sovi's real name, and to know where she is. There might be an interesting history behind that particular partnership. ❋ The last place near the Earth Kingdom to hold out against the Eye was Republic City- it fell a little less than a year before the attack on the Fire Nation started, which itself is two years from the present. ❋ Rika and Tarei are in a prison compound somewhere in the earth kingdom- it's a veritable underground fortress referred to as 'The City of the Lost'. They've been held there for a year, to be brainwashed and interrogated. ❋ Ailok is one of the two leaders of the Fire Nation branch of the Platinum Night, although the true heads of the organization are mostly back in the Earth Kingdom- they've increasingly been falling out of touch. ❋ Members of the Iron Eye are referred to as shadows due to their covert efficiency, while members of the Platinum Night are called blind sparrows, or just sparrows. ❋ It is currently late summer in the rp. ------------------------------

Allegiances
Iron Eye:❋ Sovi Jae-Lan || 27, Female, Earth Kingdom/The Iron Eye, Earth-bender, Metal-bender || *Darkpool*❋ Sovi is peculiar-looking for an earth-bender- or for anyone, in fact. She's very short and fragile, with a cloud of fluffy medium-length hair so pale it's almost white and eyes a very pale shade of green, She wears long dark-green tunics or dresses, sometimes over black or light green trousers, and silver slippers; lots of flowy clothing to emphasize her small, slim frame. Many of her clothes have intricate silver embroidery, and all of them are emblazoned with the mark of the Iron Eye- a black eye around a silver earth kingdom symbol. She's also very fond of jewelry- metal pieces, not jeweled ones- wrought in anything but platinum. On the off chance she has to record a speech for her shadows, she wears a long green cloak with a hood and a cowl to hide everything except her eyes, in part because she's very private and enigmatic and in part to cover up a series of scars and burn-marks disfiguring the left side of her delicate, angular face. However, her appearance hides a marked viciousness- her jewelry can abruptly be a deadly weapon given her skill and finesse with metalbending, and she's known to hide a number of small knives and darts on her person, some of them tipped with deadly poisons. At the slightest threat she will lash out, most times fatally. No one knows exactly where she came from, who her family was or what her childhood was like, but she's been within the Iron Eye since its beginning despite only being ten at the time of its insurgence, although at the time she wasn't its leader. In fact most don't recall ever seeing a glimpse of her before she was the Eye- her proof of her work within the society is her perfect memory of missions no one could know about unless they were there. Those who do remember her remember a girl who always wore a hood over her hair and never let her name slip out. She became the Eye itself at the age of eighteen under suspicious circumstances- the previous leader, Ackar Finou, managed the Iron Eye with a much more public presence- the entire nation knew his name, and perhaps this lack of privacy led to his demise. While no one can confirm whether he is in fact dead, he is believed to have died in a fight with one of the Night's uprisings, and if the slim chance that he is still alive is true, he has never come forward to challenge Sovi for the position. Sovi appointed new lieutenants before seemingly vanishing from the face of the earth, and later began her practice of contacting her shadows through technology and recordings. For unknown reasons, she selected two lieutenants- Daichi and Vrala- to meet directly with, although with a little digging you find she had contact with both long before she selected them- she taught Daichi metalbending and made sure he ascended the ranks of the Iron Eye- of all her fellow shadows he was the only one who ever stayed to make sure she survived a mission if it started to go wrong, and Vrala, almost as enigmatic as Sovi herself, was a healer who appeared to have cared for Sovi during the early years of the Iron Eye's rise. Vrala died about a year into Sovi's reign, in unknown circumstances, and Sovi did not select a replacement for her, instead focusing on Daichi and honing his abilities- he appears to be the only person she trusts, giving him information on where to find her as well as revealing her name to him. He is, in a way, her counter-balance and perhaps she genuinely feels affection toward him, and maybe that is why he isn't as decorated as some of the other lieutenants- she keeps him close because he is the only person she can depend on. Personality-wise, Sovi is a sharp, witty speaker who always has a cynical comment on hand and thinks nothing of insulting others, whether they be servants of the Eye or the Platinum Night. Slightly obsessive and controlling, she eternally worries her empire will one day crumble, driving her to cruel actions- she thinks nothing of harming the citizens of the two nations under her thumb in her quest to eliminate the Platinum Night and have an orderly society, even killing some of the Night's sparrows, and at times she interrogates the prisoners in the City of the Lost herself. She does have a more soft-spoken side, usually reserved for Daichi, who's fiery temper has to be matched by her cooler indifference, and is a rather pensive person, but when she's at her calmest she's also at her most deadly. She's not the sort of person you ever want to take your eyes off of, but that's very difficult considering she's never in one place for more than a moment. ❋ She has a near-eidetic memory, and fights with small, bullet-like metal weapons and poisons- she is perhaps one of the greatest metalbenders currently alive, having a rare skill for the art. However, she does not have a similar affinity for general earth, sand, and lava bending. She prefers to keep most of her history secret. She's currently the head of the Iron Eye. ❋ Daichi || 29, Male, Earth Kingdom, Earthbender/Metalbender || ~*Spottedpath*~❋ Daichi is your typical Eye lieutenant. He has a strong build like most earthbenders, broad shoulders and all. His muscular frame is what causes the intimidation of many Eye operatives. No one would dare challenge a guy like Daichi, and he actually likes that. He also has strong arms and large hands to go along with the Earth Kingdom build. Daichi has straight black hair down his shoulders, usually pulled into a top knot, and he has deep green eyes. He is always seen wearing the typical Eye uniform, consisting of silver and dark green. On his face, a little bit of stubble can be found, and a long scar across the right side. This scar was done to him by his ruthless father who had abused him during his early years of life. Daichi would be called a scum bag in our world. He pledges his full support and loyalty to Sovi Jae-Lan, A.K.A. The Eye herself. He is actually one of the few to have seen her in person, to not wonder what she looks like. He takes immense pride in that, and you should know that his pride is what he lives on. Like most earthbenders, he is very proud and boastful of who he is and what he does, and being close to Sovi makes it even worse. He is ruthless and cares nothing for those he injures, imprisons, and kills. In fact, he loves doing what he does to his victims, and he will stop at nothing to squash the Platinum Night. ❋ His main weapon is his earthbending and metalbending, both of which he is very skilled at. Sovi taught him metalbending herself, in fact. His occupation is a lieutenant of The Eye. ❋ Juro || 17, Male, Earth Kingdom/The Eye, Avatar; currently only knows earthbending || ~*Spottedpath*~❋ Despite being an earthbender, he actually has a skinny frame, mostly bone. He has short black hair atop his head, and light green eyes. Little freckles also dot his face. His physical appearance is what gets him a lot of teasing and bullying in The Eye. A lot of them do not think he is fit to be apart of them, given his smaller build, but he knows he is skilled with his bending, something they tend to forget. In personality, Juro is naturally very shy and timid. He likes to fade into the background if he can. Sometimes this does work in his favor, but other times he unleashes the fire he has inside of him. He likes to fade, but he knows when he has to stand up. He knows that sometimes being meek can get him killed, and he has to act bigger than he is. Juro believes in The Eye, and thinks the Platinum Night sparrows are a bunch of terrorists looking for spotlight. He doesn't understand them and why they would try to bring down their glorious yet mysterious leader, for The Eye protects everyone, right? This may get a bit awkward now, when he realizes who he really is... ❋ He mostly relies on his earthbending, but has a sharp dagger just in case. His occupation lies in the lower ranks of The Eye. ❋ Lao Kue || 23, Male, Earth Kingdom/ The Iron Eye, Earth-bending ||»ѕιηgєƒυя«❋ Lao is a very tall man, standing at about 6'5". He has a naturally muscular build which is well evenly distributed. Equipped a mousse colored complexion and dark hair, Lao actually wears his hair in the faux hawk fashion, the hair on the top of his head has a bit of a shaggy look to it. His strong jawline is almost never clean-shaven. Shared with his father and sister, his eyes are a bright emerald-ish shamrock. Both of his ears are decorated with piercings along with one in his right eyebrow. Lao Kue is your usual strong silent-type. Though judge-mental,sharp, and ruthless in battle, he has lazy tendencies and prefers to sit back and observe. He always preforms his missions in the Eye, but never going beyond to impress. Just doing as asked. Though it may not show, he does have a little tender spot in his heart. He is a bit sensitive to the hardships of others, though the longer he stays in The Eye the more he's becoming immune to hurting others. His earth-bending skills are mediocre, not really setting him apart from other earth-benders. And he becomes easily self-conscious of the fact he can't grasp the concept of being able to metal-bend, lava-bend, or sand-bend. He is normally wearing the Eye Uniform, though the rare occasions that he's not it's black jeans and a white tank. He always has bandage wrapped on his forearms and shins used as a brace. Lao Kue actually spent the early years of his life in the Fire Nation with his sister Jin Kue and mother. It wasn't until his fire-bending mother and earth-bending father divorce did he go to the Earth Kingdom. With everything going on there at the time, his dad wanted to take care of Lao's grandparents and cousins. Down with the task, Lao Kue made his father take him. ❋ Other than Lao's earth-bending, he has a pair of butterfly swords. He hardly uses them and they're kind of a family heirloom, he still carries them around with him most of the time. His rank in the Iron Eye is that of one similar to a middle class. ❋ Fuyumi || 19, Female, No nation, sandbender/lavabender+inexperienced earthbender || *Darkpool*❋ Fuyumi has dark red hair that she wears in a braided coronet or a tight braided bun- she never let's it hang loosely on it's own. She also has green-grey eyes and a constantly sulky, squinty looking face. She's medium height with a lithe, graceful body, and she dresses in things that allow ease of movement- comfortable trousers and tight shirts and vests, usually in dark colors. Her footwear is likewise a set of black boots meant to be wearable and silent. She wears no jewelry or any other type of decoration short of embroidered insignias for the Platinum Night. Fuyumi was raised in the Si Wong Desert, an orphan in a sand bender tribe, raised mostly by a woman named Shula. She became an accomplished sandbender and discovered her talent for lavabending by accident (at the time it was more glassbending since she didn't have any earth to work with), although she was soon using it to her advantage, as well as to create beautiful works of glass. In a way it was what she dreamed of doing for the rest of her life but she gave up on it soon enough. With her advanced sandbending skills, she ultimately dug up Wan Shi Tong's library, only to find it empty since it's contents had been transferred to the spirit world. However, the library still acted as a portal and she visited Wan Shi Tong on a few occasions to look for information. Her peaceful life didn't last, as at the age of fifteen the Iron Eye finally found the sandbenders and returned them to Ba Sing Se where they could 'better use their talents'. She began learning earthbending, and in a desire to escape the Eye's restrictive rule she joined them so she'd be trusted enough to leave the country- and so she'd know if they went looking for the great library so she could stop them. In the following years she would rise through the ranks, known for her fast-acting intelligence and skill at silently sneaking around, and traded in her pale linens for her current wardrobe. She adapted quickly and was ultimately given leave to attend diplomatic missions to the Water Tribes and Air Nomads as well as the Fire Nation and Republic City- her main purpose in these situations being to gather information and transfer it back to the Eye. She got rather good at this in her world travels, and eventually became the Eye's master spy. In a bid for Shula's freedom, and the rest of her tribe's, Fuyumi has embarked on a mission to infiltrate the Platinum Night, on direct orders from the Green Shadow. It took a while to establish herself in an area in the Fire Nation, and she's only recently been accepted into the order, but her strong lavabending skills immediately won her favor in the group. But at this point she's acted on both the behalf of the Night and the Eye, as well as her goals for her abducted tribe. But no one quite knows who she really acts for- most think it's just herself and, if anyone else, Shula. No one knows where she came from, either, or what she learned in Wan Shi Tong's library, but her lack of loyalty makes her a dangerous subject. She doesn't really seem to mind the Eye's harmful practices, and has grown to somewhat respect the organization- mostly it's leader, the Eye herself, perhaps the only person to ever manage to be more sneaky than Fuyumi. Fuyumi puts on a cold, confident, and quiet exterior to most of the world- she's good at her job and terrible at socializing, and she doesn't really form friendships with her compatriots or even in her tribe. She doesn't really care for the world outside her tribe, although she did love traveling it, and so doesn't care if she hurts the Platinum Night- the Eye can win for all she cares, just so long as her sandbenders are freed. Underneath her expressionless mask, she's a bit more vulnerable- a lonely, tired girl who's dreams were crushed by an uprising she didn't understand. She's either apathetic or sad, and can barely muster the energy for anger or bitterness anymore, and so throws herself wholeheartedly into her missions and training. She has a certain annoying amount of arrogance to her, but she's never failed a mission. Whatever her true cause is, she's absolutely dedicated to it, and once she sets sights on a goal she never lets it go, to the point where she lets other things in her life slip away. The only things that make her happy are dark, morbid humor and, strangely enough, songbirds. ❋ She can use a wide variety of weapons and poison darts as well as her bending skills- she's acted as assassin before, along with being a spy, although no one's ever figured out it was her apart from those who gave her the orders. She has a knack for making up stories. Despite her hard exterior, at heart she still wishes she could have just been a glassbender. ------------------------------ ------------------------------
Platinum Night:❋ Ailok ||18 , Male, Fire Nation/Platinum Night, Fire and Lightning bender || *Darkpool*❋ Ailok cuts a rather unassuming figure- a medium-height teenager with a mess of unruly dark brown hair and light hazel eyes, clad in dark burgundy and black shirts, jackets, and trousers alongside worn black steel-toed boots, he doesn't look out of place among the street urchins, orphans, and beggars left over from the Iron Eye's attack. During his early life, he lived in an earth kingdom city a few miles from Ba Sing Se with his older sister Rika and their parents- an earth-bending father and fire-bending mother. Only a year old when the Iron Eye rose to power, he grew up under the strict leadership of the organization, and his knack for mathematical and technological thought meant the Eye consigned him to their Progress Workshops early on- he never had a choice in his future, but after seeing friends and relatives dragged off by the Eye, never to be seen again, he gave up any chance of rebellion and obeyed the orders of the Eye unquestioningly. He was very close with Rika, and when he was 13 tried to stop her when she followed a friend of hers into the Platinum Night. Two years later, he was permanently conscripted to the Core Labs in Ba Sing Se, and had to leave his parents and sister behind- the last time he saw Rika, she promised she'd find a way to get him out of the Eye's domain. He wouldn't see her for another two years, during which the Eye began their assault on the Fire Nation- she attempted to infiltrate his compound, something he's always felt guilty about since she was trying to get to him. She was caught in the attempt, and unknown to the Eye's operatives, he was present when she was captured and taken to one of their prisons. Before she could be linked to him, however, one of her compatriots (Tarei) completed her mission and got Ailok out of the labs and on a smuggler's ship bound for the Fire Nation before being caught as well. Once in the Fire Nation, which was now under the control of a branch of the Eye as well, Ailok realized he could never try to start over until the Eye was defeated and so joined up with the branch of the Platinum Night located in the Fire Nation, rising through the ranks and becoming one of the leaders of the organization within a year. He's looking for a way to destroy the organization from the center and to save his sister. Personality-wise, he was always very wary, cautious, and anxious- his years in the service of the Eye only served to make him more fearful and paranoid but he's hardened since his escape, becoming steadily more ruthless and focused on achieving his goals at all costs. Still very methodical and careful, he's completely dedicated to the Platinum Night, and is very loyal to both his family and the other members of the Night despite being very mistrustful. The few who know him well know he's very friendly and talkative, but his situation seems to have beat those traits out of him and made him a much more stern, concise person. His personality has also affected his bending skills- he's a fire bender, and also has a limited control of lightning-bending abilities- he can produce lightning and redirect it but has trouble directing it and usually ends up causing an explosion, which might be due to his obsessive, anxious attitude. He's very accurate with a pistol and with throwing daggers, but not so much with hand-to-hand combat. ❋ Ailok has a wide variety of weapons at his disposal through the Platinum Night, but personally defends himself with his not-quite controlled lightning bending, a set of throwing knives, and a pair of pistols. He's terrible at close-range physical combat given he never had a chance to train in martial arts. Currently he has no crush, and considering the situation he's in he hasn't really considered it much. His only occupation is as one of the leaders of the Platinum Night, but previously he lived as a scientist for the Eye. His years with the Eye also taught him the value and danger of information in the wrong hands, and so he never keeps records of anything- especially not electronic ones. ❋ Rika || 19, Female, Earth Kingdom, Earthbender || ~*Spottedpath*~❋ Rika's appearance can sometimes be deceiving. She looks like a nonbender, with her slim, lean frame, looking as if she had never been trained all her life. On the contrary, she has the stamina of an earthbender, much like her father. She inherited the physical strength of her father, while her younger brother, Ailok, inherited the traits of a firebender from their mother. Rika has long dark hair that she always keeps down, and dark green eyes. She has a pale complexion, and a small nose. She is usually seen wearing dark cloaks and pants, boots, and the occasional gloves, as an operative of the Platinum Night. At heart, she is an Earth Kingdom girl. During her early years, she grew up in the Earth Kingdom with Ailok, and her father wanted one of his children to learn the ways of the earth, and his daughter was chosen. She became a formidable earthbender over the years, and she is currently attempting to teach herself metalbending while in prison. Personality-wise, Rika is very determined and strong-willed. She is unafraid to fight for what she believes in, despite the low chances of succeeding. She holds some resentment for her brother, since he decided to blindly follow the Eye because of their immense strength and power, while she herself would not subject herself to that way of living. She loves him all the same, however, knowing once she escapes this **** hole of a Dai Li prison, she will never leave his side again. Her emotions can get the best of her, however. That is her one flaw. Sometimes she can get so angry that she will begin screaming and punching the closest thing to her. She was fourteen years old when she followed a friend of hers into the Platinum Night. Two years later, she attempted to infiltrate Ailok's compound (she was trying to get her brother out), but she was unfortunately caught and imprisoned, where she is now currently, often losing her free will to the mind control of the Dai Li. Rika is hoping her strong will will hold out before it is too late, before she loses herself to their mind control completely.❋ Rika's occupation was and will forever be an operative of the Platinum Night. The weapons she relies on is her skill in bending, and she keeps a dagger on just in case. ❋ Tarei || 20, Male, Earth Kingdom/Platinum Night, Earth-bender and Lava-bender || *Darkpool*❋ Tarei always looks a bit imposing, even if he hunches over to seem shorter. Tall and lean, he's actually much stronger and sturdier than he seems, and much friendlier than his expressionless face and ice-blue eyes would lead you to believe. He has long-ish light brown hair tied back in a short ponytail most of the time, and generally stoops even when walking around- his clothes, overlong dark green shirts and baggy brown trousers, don't help diminish his size. The son of shopkeepers outside of Ba Sing Se, he met Rika and Ailok while doing deliveries and quickly became friends with the spirited Rika. He still had a happy, unhindered childhood until his parents were killed in a Platinum Night raid on one of the Iron Eye's barracks that ended in a destructive battle. Realizing the Eye didn't care for the civilian casualties, he decided to join up with the Platinum Night at the age of fifteen, where he would soon be joined by Rika. Rika ascended the ranks much faster than he did and he followed her throughout several missions, until ultimately he even agreed to go with her on a mission the leadership of the Night hadn't authorized- a break-in at the Core Lab compound in Ba Sing Se to save Rika's younger brother. Rika was caught in the process, but still loyal and not wanting her effort to be in vain, Tarei saved Ailok and got him out of the Earth Kingdom before being captured and sent to the City of the Lost, just like Rika. He's been there for a year now, and while he thinks he hasn't given anything away so far, he also can't be sure- he isn't holding up as well as Rika under the Eye's constant brainwashing and mind games, and his memories and dreams are beginning to blur together or vanish entirely. Despite his year in incarceration, he's still a powerful fighter and bender, and he's trying not to give up all hope. Personality-wise, he's always been sarcastic and obnoxious despite his general quiet demeanor, and he tries to look at the world realistically but humorously. Often the one to hold Rika back when she gets particularly annoyed. He's fairly good at hiding his feelings; both his bitterness and heartbreak over his parents, and his growing affection towards Rika. ❋ A shopkeeper by training, his size and brawn made him a powerful martial artist and sword fighter after his first few years of training with the Night. While he lacks a finesse and delicacy to his bending skills, he's similarly powerfullly efficient with both lava and earth bending, and that's his primary method of defense and offense at all times. He's never been able to sand or metal bend, which sometimes annoys him. He's a loyal follower of both the Platinum Night and Rika, who he has a growing crush on. ❋ Kai Lou || 19, Male, Republic city/Platinum Night/Fire Nation, Water-bending||»ѕιηgєƒυя«❋ Kai has messy blonde hair paired with the signature stunning blue eyes gene many water-benders carry. He has a very fair and clean complexion. Other than a little muscle on his arms, Kai Lou quite scrawny and stands at a perfect 6'0". Making him not short but still not quite the tallest either. Kai usually wears a long slate blue jacket, usually unzipped, having a simple dark gray tank on underneath. Paired with a large water tribe pendant hanging on a silver chain around his neck, given to him by his father. Both of his forearms are wrapped with dyed blue bandage of which ends where his peacock blue fingerless-gloves start. To finish his attire, he wears tight blackish blue jeans with tall umber combat boots. Kai is quite the...er peculiar guy. Though most of his teenage years included potato chips and TV dramas, he's actually had developed the knack for bending. Never having any lessons, this self-taught guy is quite the good fighter. Dorky and awkward around the ladies, this guy hardly knows how to act in public. Not long before the death of Korra did Kai's parent move to Republic City. There he was born and raised. He's never travelled to his father's home, the Northern water tribe, though takes quite a bit of pride in his ancestry. Having grown up in the city founded by Aang, he's seen how the city changed after The Eye took over. This was the beginning of his growing hate. In his about middle school years, Kai Lou befriended a girl a few years older than him. To Kai, she was his world. She belonged to a rich family who strongly opposed The Eye and tried to use their own wealth against them. This of course, resulted in the disappearance of the family, and more than likely, the demise. Kai was thrown into a phase of heart break afterwards. Surely he was young. And maybe he "didn't know what love was," but he did know he lost something important to him. After a few years of returning to himself again, the revolt in the Earth kingdom happened. Inspired and impulsive as he is, he left to go to the Fire Kingdom to find and join up with the Platinum Night's ranks. ❋ Kai Lou has been involved with underground pro-bending for a while. He became quit popular for it while in Republic City, so when he arrived in the Fire Kingdom it was fairly easy to jump right back into it. Aside from it being his only source of income, it's also his favorite sport and biggest passion. He dreams of being able to do it someday in front of Republic city and without the Iron Eye's rule. He fights with his bending alone though carries a small vial of water with him everywhere as a sort of last result weapon. He knows basic water healing techniques as well.

Fire Nation:❋ Jin Kue || 18, Female, Fire-Nation, Fire-bender/Amature Lightning Bender || »ѕιηgєƒυя«❋ Jin stands at about 5'8" though her thin frame accompanied by the way she carries herself, confidently, she seems so much taller. She has a short, choppy dark brown bob with a fringe, both usually a bit unkept. Her eyes are a bright emerald green. Under her left one, she has a little beauty mark. Though far from ugly, the roundness of her head seems to make the sharpness of her other facial features feel a little off. Her usual attire would include a thin maroon hoodie, perfected with a black Fire Nation emblem on the back. Of which most can't ever even see because she has her black leather jacket layered over it. Dark shaggy denim jeans and black knee-highs with combat boots; even though she'll say she wants to lay low this girl's attire says other-wise. Though she doesn't have any weapons, she does wear a ring on both her index fingers, along with a locket around her neck. This woman will make you think of an enraged bear. Though Jin is very much so capable of organizing and running activities- she's very bad at picking up the pace when a part of her plans fail. She is short tempered and very assertive which earns her the personality type ESTJ. Her entire life she has mostly just gotten herself into danger. However, Jin does know how to wind down and have fun, in fact she does that a bit too often. She loves pranks and spicy foods. Some might say she's a childish dummy that doesn't know what she's ever doing. When Jin Kue was little, her mother and father, a fire-bender and earth-bender, had divorced. Her older brother and father went back to the earth kingdom to take care of her father's side of the family, despite the risks of going to the home of the Iron Eye. Now after hearing of the Platinum Night, with hope replenished, she plans to try and break into the Earth Kingdom and find her brother all on her own. ❋ Jin Kue isn't much a person for weapons other than her fire bending, and last resort lightning bending. She has had a lot of jobs already for an 18 year old. She's been a waitress at two places, a grocer, and worked fast-food. She's lost them all for arguing/threatening customers. She's now occupation-less though has money saved up to help relocate her missing sibling. Although she agrees with everything the Platinum Night is doing and even more so the fact its in the Fire Nation with her, she has no intentions of trying to join. ❋ Hali || 17, Female, Fire Nation, nonbender || *Darkpool*❋ Hali is tall for a girl- and she only accentuates this by wearing her long black hair in a simple braid, along with loose, baggy linen trousers and blouses, and long necklaces or scarves. Her amber eyes are set in an oval face, and she usually looks slightly worried. A nonbender, she's lived in the Fire Nation her whole life- her two older brothers and one older sister were all firebenders, so she thinks she's sort of the family disappointment. Her father was a merchant, and her mother was a doctor, so she lived a comfortable life, hearing about but disregarding the stories of the Eye's rise in the Earth Kingdom. When the Eye invaded the Fire Nation, she lost her eldest brother, who had enlisted in the Army, and her other brother and sister went missing while at university. Similarly, her father, who was trading with the Water Tribes when the invasion took place, wasn't able to return once the Eye took over, so Hali lives only with her mother. Her mother shut down after the sudden loss of most of her family, and became increasingly immersed in her work- she had to work overtime due to the sheer amount of Fire Nation soldiers and the Eye's shadows injured in the fights across the nation. She never seemed to question the Eye's orders and accepted the loss of the family's money and property without blinking- but she did rebel in the fact that when injured Platinum Night sparrows came to her hospital, she cared for them and refused to let the Eye know about them. But she doesn't talk to her daughter much, and in the two years since the invasion Hali decided to take up a job as an archivist. Her mother's growing sadness and apathy mean Hali is usually the one making sure they have food and that their bills get paid. She dislikes the Eye's strict enforcement of what can and can't be kept in a library but has no choice but to agree. She supports the Platinum Night's beliefs but dislikes the amount of collateral damage some of their attacks generate, and so far she's tried to stay out of the conflicts seizing her city. While she wants, more than anything, for her father and siblings to return, she's too terrified to act, another part of why she refuses to join with the Platinum Night. She's shy and skittish, but overall a very kind person who's very hard to anger. She dislikes change and wishes everything would go back to the way it was even though she realizes it's a stupid hope- she's an optimist who realizes it would be better if she were a realist. She wishes she were braver and more assertive, and that she had bending abilities.❋ She's an archivist, and she doesn't know how to fight at all- her eldest brother taught her to throw a weak punch and some basic self defense but overall she's hopeless, something a lot of people attribute to her lack of bending skills. She keeps a journal filled with the things she learns in the archives- trivia and gossip, anything really- as a way of organizing her thoughts and staying calm.
------------------------------ ------------------------------
Earth Kingdom: ❋ Irta Zhisu || 18, Female, Earth Kingdom, nonbender || *Darkpool*
❋ Irta's dark brown hair is cut in a rather severe, angular bob, her wide blue eyes and drawn, hollow cheeks giving her a similarly severe expression. She's of an average height, but carries herself with the grace and composure to seem both taller and older than she really is. She wears light makeup with lots of flared eyeliner, and is almost always in a longer, traditional dress in Earth Kingdom colors and variants of gold or black slipper flats. She loves wearing heels but generally dismisses them on grounds of being impractical. And Irta is a very practical person. Born into a noble family in Ba Sing Se that had built it's name in the phone and transmitter technology industry, Irta is the heiress to her family's fortune- and prior to the Eye's takeover, to the family company. From a young age, Irta had to appear with her parents at company functions and was continuously taught the right things to say and the right ways to act, neatly being molded into a proper heir and socialite. She was only a year old at the time of the Eye's rise, and her parents only escaped imprisonment by fully cooperating with the Eye, turning over their company, giving away information regarding the other technological empires in the capital city, and agreeing to work with the Eye's Core Lab. Irta grew up with a similar expectation on her shoulders- agree with the Eye unconditionally and continue the family business even if the company no longer belongs to you. However, she has branched more into medical technology and studies of diseases and their cures. In recent years her family has been receiving threats from both the Platinum Night and the Iron Eye, and Irta has grown rather fed up with both factions- as a result she's become an information peddler- her access to the Labs and to the vast business world in the Earth Kingdom means she's dug up info on both the Eye and the Night, and she doesn't care who she sells out- her primary goal is to keep herself and her family, particularly her younger siblings, alive and safe throughout this conflict, so at times the way she plays both sides comes off as self-serving and ignorant. Despite her usual elegant, sweet, and polite composure, a mask she can throw up at a second's notice, Irta is a cynical realist, steeped in sarcasm and irony. She likes to laugh and finds a great many things funny, but her societal training keeps such expressions at a minimum. She's usually brisk and as aforementioned, practical, but at her core is a generally affectionate, kind person, particularly towards her younger siblings. She feels bitter regarding the avatar's disappearance and thinks that if he's still alive, he's a coward who can't face his duty and has let the Eye/Night conflict rage on too long.
❋ Despite being a nonbender like her parents, she had the best self-defense instructors her parents could find and learned a great deal of fighting techniques from a young age- this comes in handy given the kidnapping and murder attempts directed at her family from time to time given their status and turn to the Eye. She was at some point close friends with Ailok, as both worked in Ba Sing Se's Core Labs before Ailok was rescued. She has two much-younger siblings, nine-year-old brother Miran and seven-year-old sister Jana.------------------------------ ------------------------------
Water Tribes:❋ Karoe || 19, Male, Southern Water Tribe, waterbender || *Darkpool*
❋ Longish uneven brown hair, bright blue eyes, and a perpetual cheeky grin make Karoe seem like a generally happy-go-lucky guy. He wears ratty old over-sized shirts and jackets over jeans and well-worn boots, and his only traditional aspect is the blue ties in the locks of hair on either side of his face. He's lived his entire life in the Southern Water Tribe, with a few brief visits to Republic City and the Fire Nation, where some of his cousins live. His mother is a Fire Nation non-bender while his father is a Southern Water Tribe historian who disapproves of his son's reckless, flighty behavior and the fact that Karoe insists on using waterbending for even the easiest tasks. His mother always had a better sense of humor regarding her son's actions, but due to fragile health began to leave their house less and less. Karoe grew up with the Eye being a background rumor affecting only the Earth Kingdom, and his childhood was relatively happy and stable. More recently the coup in the Fire Nation has been more concerning, cutting off contact with his mother's family and leading to her health further worsening. Karoe and the leadership of the tribe have begun to put forth defensive measures to keep the Eye from trying to overthrow yet another nation, and Karoe is attempting to contact with the Platinum Night to find both his family and the medication his mother needs. He still lacks focus and seriousness, but to a degree has been forced to face the harsher reality of the world around him. Despite his wise-cracking, cheerful nature, when push comes to shove he'll do anything to protect the people he cares about.
❋ A good waterbender and swordsman. He doesn't plan much and had no idea what he wanted to study if he wanted to study anything at all. The only thing that can keep his attention for more than a few seconds is a good book or some new gadget from the Earth kingdom.------------------------------ ------------------------------
Air Nomads:❋ Sage || 16, Female, Air Nomads, airbender || *Darkpool* ❋ Sage is a light-hearted soul and her appearance expresses it. With a feathery chestnut pixie cut above a freckled heart-shaped face and traditional airbending tattoos, she's frequently smiling, which reveals dimples in her cheeks. She has wide, inquisitive bright green eyes that make her look sweeter than she really is. She wears lots of off-the-shoulder shirts and embroidered tank tops, and has way too many pairs of jeans and strappy sandals. She's also very fond of bangles and long earrings. From time to time she also wears a more traditional airbender toga over breeches despite the funny looks it gets- and she ties it at her waist with an intricate golden belt set with opals, a gift for her fifteenth birthday. She also has a tattoo of the sun on her left ankle. She's a happy-go-lucky sort, and the type to ask for forgiveness rather than permission. She also has the attention-span of a squirrel, which led to her getting her airbending master tattoos a little late, much to her disappointment, although the tattoo on her head is barely visible as she doesn't much care for shaving her hair. She tears up over just about anything and in general is a forcefully emotional person- much to the annoyance of her teachers and parents. Not quite as wise or as calm as her name would indicate, she nevertheless always listens to her friends and offers advice where she can. She also has a deep connection to the spirit world- the only thing she manages without breaking focus is meditation, and growing up in Republic City she got to see a lot of spirit creatures and interact with them, and even venture into the spirit world a few times herself. However, inexperienced as she was during all of these mishaps, Sage now carries the effect of some dangerous things from the spirit world- she has fragmented visions of past and future, and so far the cause hasn't been found- it started occurring after a spirit world trip she told no one about. Sage grew up on Air Temple Island with her twin brother, daughter of a nonbender air acolyte father and an airbending mother. At the time Republic City was not yet under Eye control- and it fought for years. The city was finally conquered when Sage was thirteen, a year before the Eye moved on to the Fire Nation, and Sage was heartbroken to leave her home when her family fled before they could be detained by the Iron Eye. They relocated at the Eastern Air Temple and have been there ever since, although they've also visited the other air temples to spread news and make sure the Eye hadn't reached farther. During her first month at the Eastern Air Temple, Sage entered the spirit world to see if she could find out was was happening in her old home- this was when her visions started, and she refuses to disclose exactly what happened. Sage fully supports the Platinum Night but due to her pacifist beliefs refuses to join with them. Instead she has dedicated herself to finding the avatar, believing her visions might hold a clue to who he or she is. She believes the avatar is the only thing that can now save the world. ❋ Sage has no weapons- she has a glider (and can fly a plane due to an early life interest in Sato Industries and engineering) and a a flying bison named Ranno. She's a firm believer in true love and adores romance movies. ❋ Miyu Oda || 15, Female, Air Nomad, Air-bending ||»ѕιηgєƒυя«❋ Like many air-benders, Miyu is shorter with a incredibly small frame. She has long black hair that's usually kept up in a bun with a few strands hanging out. And her unique amber eyes seem to clash with the blue of her tattoos and faintly sun-kissed skin. She can be caught wearing the traditional air-bender in training loose orange shawls over yellow shirt-like robes with mid-shin high boots, which definitely casts her out from modern fashion. She has chosen her Flying Bison companion, Gege, only about a year ago. Gege can be recognized easily by his abnormally long ears for a flying bison. Miyu carries a very happy and welcoming vibe with her everywhere she goes. She is super shy around new people but warms up quickly. Miyu is almost a prime example of an air-bender. She is very in sync with her skills. She's light-footed, a bit modest, and follows most customs. Though sure enough, she's not perfect. Both ignorant and a bit arrogant. Sometimes even a bit too naive for her own good. She also is equipped with the terrible habit of becoming infatuated easily. Recently, Miyu Oda has left her air-temple along with Gege, to travel the world. Despite what she's been told. Miyu had grown up in the Northern Air Temple, so the revolts had little affect on her life growing up, and with her ignorant characteristics, doesn't quite know the dangers of traveling in this age.❋ Miyu Oda doesn't carry any weapons with her for she left her air temple to travel and not fight. She travels somewhat light with Gege, with just food, water, and a tent. Like all air-benders, she's a vegetarian and doesn't fight unless attacked. ------------------------------

(I figured we'd just continue where we left off? Singe- we can skip ahead with the Hali and Jin plot to where they're training together. Spotty- we could skip ahead but we'd have to explain what happened. When last we left them, Daichi was running after them, Sovi was watching, Rika and Tarei landed by the locked entrance of the earthbender wing, and Ailok + his group were running after them with the intent of getting out of the earthbender wing and then bending their way into the walls, so we could start with them breaking out of the earthbender section of the City? omg I still haven't finished my last two character forms xD)

(Yep, we're open for joining! The joining page is linked in the first post. It is a remake (or rather, it's a transfer from the old forums to here), but it actually hadn't existed very long when we moved it so not much has happened in the rp so far.)

Alright! Thank you, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't interrupting halfway through a long plot that I would be completely lost on, you know? anyways, I just wanna check if having lgbtq+ characters is accepted here? I'd assume so considering the canonicity of korrasami but better safe than sorry. Oh and also, any particular kind of character you need? To fill some role or something? Sorry for so many questions xc

Post by *Ɗαɾƙρσσℓ* on Aug 6, 2016 1:32:56 GMT -5
(Nah, we're basically at the start of the plot- springing some main characters out of prison lol Yes, we accept lgbtq+ characters! Uhh...I don't think we specifically need anything, but we're putting together a sort of team avatar (Sage is our only member right now) if you want to rp the whole avatar search, and the Platinum Night has two leaders in the fire nation- one is my character Ailok, the other is currently an open position. So there's that, but you can more or less join with whatever kind of character you want short of avatar/leader of the Iron Eye c: )

What age range would you suggest for team avatar?

Post by *Ɗαɾƙρσσℓ* on Aug 6, 2016 10:12:55 GMT -5
(Wolf- basically what Singe said, late teens/early twenties, although a younger character would be okay too (the original team avatar was in the 12-16 range xD).
Singe- You can add Kai to the team if you want to, we'll just have to find a way for him and Sage to meet! I loved Sokka and Bolin, so that'd be a great addition to the team xD And yep, you can go ahead and start the rp! I'm not sure what to rp right now with Hali. And I still need to finish Irta and Karoe's forms, I kind of forgot in the panic of the forums shutting down.)

Jin had walked home after her adventure to the grocery store. "Mom I'm back," She said as she entered the front door and set the groceries down on the kitchen table, then walked into her room. Jin turned around and fell backwards onto her bed with a sigh of relief, grabbing the "defense book" out from her jacket. She flipped through the pages until she came to the part about fire-bending then sat up and went to her desk. Opening a door she pulled a piece of paper and pencil, both writing and doodling down the information. She wanted to be able to refer to this information someday in the future, of course. -- Jin left the house a few hours later, going and exploring some mountainous, rocky forest range the Fire Nation held home to a lot of. She stopped at a glade with a large boulder. This is good, she thought, before beginning to demonstrate some moves she already knew. A small smile appeared on her lips, she hasn't firebent in what felt like foreeevverr. She continued practicing her reflexes, her face drenched in sweat from the flames, she felt a little embarrassed giving it her all against an opponent such as a rock. She was honestly a little glad Hali was at work. Oh hey Hali. She checked her watch, before basically running out of there. Jin wasn't exactly late, but she wanted to be at the archives before Hali got off and if she just stood around any longer that wouldn't happen.

(It's fine, I've been poofy too, especially cause I'm still saving stuff on the old forums xP)
Hali spent the day toiling under Nilo's harried orders, furtively exchanging rolled eyes with Mei from time to time. One grumpy old woman came in looking for pie recipes and made Hali wait on her until she found the right book- then changed her mind three times before finally settling on a book to check out. She also had to pull a few volumes for a 'specific hold', as Nilo put it, which was shorthand for books that the Eye didn't want in the libraries. Placing the books in a transit box bound for the Eye's headquarters made her feel hollow- no one was ever going to read them again. By the time the end of her shift rolled around, Mei had already left and Hali was exhausted. She stopped in the back rooms to pick up her pay, and then with a sigh of relief she headed out the door, thinking of what she would buy at the grocer's and whether her mother would be there when she got back. She had almost forgotten about her meeting with Jin when she saw the girl running up the steps to the archive.

Hali was taken aback for a moment, "Oh. Oh, right, I need to run to the grocer's! C'mon, it's right down the street- Quan's place. Don't worry, it won't take long!"
(so I'm rping a Starkit's Prophecy rp on the old forums right now and I've laughed myself to the point of crying twice the SPELLING IS SO TERRIBLE XD)

(sure, you should jump in and rp too xD but the spelling really is near-illegible. GleamClan)
Hali didn't even know what to say. She thought about it as they entered the little grocery store and she grabbed a basket, then started absent-mindedly speaking as she grabbed ingredients for a shrimp stew, "Um. So you know I have- had, that is- three siblings who are firebenders. Apart from that, well, I grew up in the city, I went to school here. I was gonna go to university for history...but then there was the whole upset with the new government and, um, I lost contact with my dad and my older siblings. So it's just me and my mom and I had to take the archivist job 'cause I couldn't leave her all alone."

{{ THAT THREAD OML IM LAUGHING }}
Uh oh, she didn't ask the wrong question did she? Jin Kue walked with her, she felt a bit awkward. It wasn't her fault she was pushy, she was just born that way. She did her best to not show the awkwardness on her expression. Allowing Hali the space she needed to think about her answer. Her muscles loosened when Hali gave one, a bit relieved she didn't get upset or anything. "So that whole thing, huh?" She asked, thinking of her own older sibling, "We're more alike than you'd think. Do you have any idea where they might be by any chance?" She asked, mindlessly glancing at the colorful food packaging as they passed.

(I know, isn't it the most beautiful thing you've ever read? <3)
"N-not really," Hali said as she picked up a pack of noodles, "I mean, my dad was in the Northern Water Tribe on business when the shutdown happened, so he's hopefully still there, we just can't contact him? And,um, my oldest brother died, he was in the army. Then my other brother and sister, well...they were at the university in the island region. We haven't heard from them either in the last two years. I don't know if it's just information restrictions or Iron Eye recruitment? I'm...I'm sure they're not in prison or anything, they're...loyal to the nation!" she awkwardly scrabbled for a way to make sure she didn't betray her family's Platinum Night sympathies. "I hope once things settle down a bit we'll all get to see each other again. It's been a long two years. My mom's not doing very well, she works too hard."
