People claim that Firestar, Lionblaze, Cinderheart, Dovewing and many others are all perfect, but this isn't true. Every character has flaws, even the underdeveloped ones. At least, nearly everyone. No one is perfect in Warriors, not even Spottedleaf.
What I don't understand when people call on some characters like Cinderheart and Dovewing as "perfect" when their flaws are right beneath their eyes when they read the books. A character can be bland with little to no personality and still have flaws. Dovewing and Cinderheart are these characters. Dovewing is a hopeless romantic, while Cinderheart can't handle choosing her own path. A lot of people dislike these characters because they "whine". News flash, that's a flaw you listed, added with another flaw; immaturity. Dovewing and Cinderheart both don't handle situations right either. They've both argued with Ivypool and Lionblaze and wouldn't consider thinking about how they've felt. Dovewing never truly understood how Ivypool felt, even though her sister showed obvious signs of her jealousy, which calls her out as being oblivious. Ivypool had to tell her herself. And I also don't understand when people call out on her being with Tigerheart and still call her perfect. Dovewing is breaking the warrior code by seeing him, how is that good? She's betraying her Clan. She even lied to her sister about him. She also snaps often with Bumblestripe, showing that she's very impatient with him, and she used him to try to move on from Tigerheart. Dovewing can't let go of Tigerheart. Her childish crush on him makes it hard for her to move on. She tried to put effort into it, but she has failed.
Let's go onto Firestar. He had so many flaws in the original series. Fireheart often fought with Graystripe about Silverstream. He also judged Bramblepaw, reminding him of Tigerstar. He didn't think of what to say carefully about Redtail to Bluestar, which angered her. And even as a leader he still has his flaws. He sees Spottedleaf behind Sandstorm's back, thinking it was okay. He believed in Ivypaw's dream, causing a battle that killed Russetfur. He tried to separate Squirrelpaw and Brambleclaw, fearing that they'll cause trouble for the Clans. He almost took out his grief on Brambleclaw when Graystripe was taken away by Twolegs.
Lionblaze. He holds a grudge on Heathertail, blaming her for multiple things. He almost nearly killed Crowfeather in the heat of the battle. He didn't handle his relationship with Cinderheart well when he told her about the prophecy. He called the Dark Forest trainees traitors.
Do I need to go on? None of these characters are perfect, whether you like them or not. My biggest pet peeve in Warriors is when someone calls them perfect without knowing the true definition of a mary-sue. I just wish some people would realize that everyone has flaws, even the minor characters.

PREACH.
In all seriousness, most people don't even know what a Mary Sue is anymore. They unironically call characters like Dovewing Sues, while backing up their arguements BY pointing out their flaws. This can be found A LOT on the top tens website. Warning: looking these up will give you cancer. Example:
This type of thing is hypocritical and annoying. Just . . . stop.

Yeah I agree with you about these flaws!
Oh yeah. I forgot Lionblaze almost killed Crowfeather...
Is it bad that I see more flaws than perfections about the cats? Not that there aren't good characters though.

characters without any flaws at all would just be unrealistic and bland
being flawed also does not mean being evil or bad, necessarily. It just depends really on if they try to better themselves.

Come on people, there is no truly perfect character in Warriors. That would just be crappy characterization. I know sometimes the Erins don't write their characters the best, but they usually at least attempt to add some flaws and realism to them. Pff.

I agree. This is why it annoys me when people call cats Mary Sues; Dovewing in particular. Dovewing has clear flaws, just like literally every cat. I'm saying this because it seems like every WarriorCats fan I know thinks Dovewing is an annoying Mary Sue; sometimes I feel like the only person who thinks Dovewing has flaws.
