"Yeah, I have a question," Santiago drawled, standing up and striding over to the man, blocking the entrance. The small pirate glanced up, feigning boredom, folding his arms against his chest. He was barely an inch away from the Englishman, and very much tempted to simply stick the thin metal wire through his throat. But he didn't, not yet. "What's going to make us actually listen to you? We could take that boat and sail off. You'd never hear from us again, nor catch us. And what if we said no? Because either way we're dead and you and all of us know that," he said, keeping the tremble out of his voice surprisingly. The Egyptian had no intentions of working for the English, he'd never do that, no matter what. He shifted his hazel eyes over the Commader, studying the man for his reaction in being so close to a pirate, hoping to make him uncomfortable.

(Hurray XD)
For once Santiagos carefully kept facade broke, his face going ashen as he realized that these, these monsters had his kids. Well, they weren't his, not by blood but he'd raised them since before they could remember anything else. He was shocked, really, that he had managed to find them. The two kids were well trained, they knew what to do in any situation and knew how to hide. They'd have to have been watching for awhile if they had figured that out. His face twisted suddenly in anger, joining Zeno in her attacked, whipping out the thin metal blade and jerking him away from the female pirate that he was currently holding. He held the thin blade against his neck, voice low, his normally laid back personality completely gone. "I swear I will make your death the longest, most painful imaginable if I find so much as a scratch on them," he growled, pressing the piece of metal against the mans neck, drawing a small amount of blood. If they didn't have jos two kids he'd just kill the man here.

"Feel free to do so, pirate" He spat against the pressure of the blade on his neck. "They will remain unharmed as long as you agree to our terms. Killing me and trying to find them will do no good. They will be moved from this fort and to another as soon as you step out of those doors. You will never see them again. Neither of you." He finished her face still calm as he turned to look at Zenobia then back at Santiago. The wraith growled at him in frustration. She wanted to kill the man and be done with it but something told her that he was telling the truth. Still... "I want to see them. I want them to come in this room immediately and tell me themselves that they are ok. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure Santiago would be very happy to make your death very painful. So, for your sake, I hope you're telling the truth" She hissed, her hands still clenched into fists. Fletcher calmly looked between them before nodding. He was only agreeing to do this because he had expected this kind of outrage. Holding up his hands he attempted to move from Santiago's grasp. "No," Zeno snapped pointing at him. 'You stay here." "Then can you at least wake the poor woman you have laying on the floor so she can give the order" Zeno hesitated before turning to wake the woman. She woke with a start and scrambled to her feet looking at the situation at hand. Fear took to her features and she clutched her hands to her chest. "Elizabeth, can you knock on the door, please?" The Commodore asked with a raised eyebrow. The woman hesitated then nodded quickly going to the door and timidly knocking twice. The doors opened and the woman slipped out in a hurry. A few seconds passed and two kids came running in, straight to Zenobia. The wraith held them tightly to her before crouching before them and quickly asking them questions and looking them over.

Kali was fuming with rage, if these English dogs thought that she was going to work with them then they had another thing coming. She didn't have kids for her captors to hold over her. And if they had her crew, well, there were always more cutthroat pirates out there. She shook her head as she watched Zenobia get reunited with her children, how stupid could a pirate be to have children. Not only have children but to keep them on the ship! This wasn't a cruise, it was dangerous and no place for a kid to be getting in the way. She stayed quiet though, wanting to see how the others would react to the situation and if they would agree to this. She knew that, despite her fighting skills, she couldn't fend off the whole English army by herself. She settled with wishing Santiago would just cut the Commodore's throat already and glaring daggers at the man. (So funny story, I was listening to KPBS radio on my way home from work the other day and they were talking about pirates, like Blackbeard and stuff. Apparently Pirates never admit to being pirates and always have an excuse for their terrible acts. Just thought that was interesting! )

(Good question....Maybe an official apology from the kingdom about the unfair treatment of her people? Kali is a very expensive pirate lol)
Kali barely cast a glance at Zenobia when she spoke, bored of the whole ordeal already. "And what happens if we refuse to cooperate?" she looked at the Commodore with raised eyebrows. "You gonna kill us? Your, as you said, last chances really at getting to El Dorado before anyone else?" She scoffed and shook her head. "You Englishmen really have a backwards way of doing things."

Kekeke TwT ) (Small question on character generation; do all of the English on the ship have to be English? I have an idea of a German boatswain, but I feel like he'd be a better fit with the English than the pirates.)

Santiago didn't move from his position, it didn't matter that the pirate was much smaller than the Englishman, he wasn't letting him go that easily. "I want to see my kids too," he hissed, watching as Zeno fretted over her own two. The two he cared for might not be related to him by blood, but he still considered them his own. He'd made sure they were literate, a feat for him considering he could only read well enough in Spanish to barely get by, and that they were well spoken and deft with their hands. Those two were surprisingly good pickpockets, even having their own adventures whenever they reached a city. Of course he worried about them, but he'd made it clear to them from the beginning that he was no father, and if they wanted to learn the ways of piracy then they could. They just were kept on a short leash, not wanting them to get caught.

(Who, Fletcher and Santiago?)
Santiagos attention snapped towards the other man, chest swelling with pride when he realized it was his two that had tried to escape. The much smaller man shoved Fletcher away, ignoring the ghost of a smile that had been on the mans lips, annoyed that he had heard nothing of them. "Good job, hijos," he said quietly, glaring at the man who was holding them by their shoulders. The two had been glaring until they saw Santiago, and then they let out small cries, speaking to him in rapid Spanish. "Santi- I wanna go home," "They're mean here." "Why haven't you gotten out yet?" The Spaniard sighed, standing up and glaring at the much larger man. "Id suggest you let them go now." He said quietly, voice dangerously low. He had a reputation, although it was hard to see why until you saw him like this.

Ferret pushed through the door, took one look at the pirates and got the heck out of there shut it and locked it behind her, then glanced around the room at the various pirates assembled there. "You said I should meet the pirates, Sir." She said, studying their faces one by one. Her gaze drifted to the kids and she smiled slightly; she actually quite liked children, especially these ones. She'd let them play with Trelós, and rather than being rough and tumble like a lot of kids, they'd been quite gentle. Of course, they were also a bit rough when Trelós was, but not 'let's pull the ferret's tail' rough. Trelós seemed to recognise his playmates and chittered excitedly.

"You're telling me she gets to see hers, but I can't mine?" Santiago snapped, voice cracking momentarily before his focus snapped on the door, watching as the girl and her ferret entered the room. He gave her a bored once over, the aggression gone now that he wasn't looking at the Commador specifically. He couldn't even bring himself to look at Zeno, knowing it wasn't fair but he felt jealousy spike him to his bones. He couldn't fathom what she had done to get to see her kids, to protect them, while all he got was a glance at them before they were torn away from him once more. He hated it. (Oh snap wait no. I didn't mean for that to sound like he took the kids away. I mean it was just the officer that left the room)
