☁ Introduction ☁
You wake up and find yourself in an unknown forest. Hardly any birds sing here and the shadows of large rocks and dark trees seem make it almost night. The only thing that makes you from thinking its night is the thin lines of light shining through the spruce and maple leaves of this forest. As you take a look around to see where you are, you notice the silence and the eeriness of the area, you try and remember why your here but nothing comes to mind, a bump on your forehead indicates you were probably knocked out.
As you walk along; your paws ache from weariness and your head starts to droop with tiredness. You push yourself along though, eager to make high ground to see where you are. Finally, you can walk no longer and collapse into a pile of exhaustion, a cool breeze calms your ragged breaths but you're in no shape to keep moving, everything is aching. A bird circles you as your vision goes blurry and pawsteps sound from behind you but you can't turn to see who it is.
Something makes your nose scrunch up, like the smell of tangy herbs. You open your eyes slowly, blinking a few times. Your pawsteps touch the place where you lay splayed out, it's soft and feels like moss and feathers. You blink again, your vision coming back, your pelt prickles with confusion as you try to sit up but are gently pushed down with a paw. Something cold is pressed to your side and you wince, when its pulled away, a gentle voice speaks .
"Don't try and get up onto your paws quite yet, I want the herbs to sink into that wound of yours." The voice paused, "You can sit up though." You make out the voice a little, it's a Tom, a younger cat than you.
"Where am I?" You finally find words to use.
After a minute, the voice speaks again. "Your in Shadeclan territory, ___star found you near the North border."
"Who are you?" You sit up now, your tail curls over your paws on instinct and your eyes focus on an average sized Tom with a solid black fur coat.
"I'm _______." The Tom replies, "the medicine cat around here."
You take in his words then finally speak, "Should I leave? I mean, it's nice of you to help me but I've heard about the clan, they're vicious." The words feel like poison.
The Tom doesn't reply but when he does, it's almost a whisper. "Then you've heard wrong. Join us, I'm sure ____star wouldn't mind." He said, trying to be chipper.
Just as you are about to say something, a shecat enters the den, she stares at you with an icy gaze, with her head high in authority. After a minute of talking to the medicine cat in private, she calms a little and smiles, thanking the medicine cat.
The she-cat turns to you, and finally speaks. "I'm ____star, leader of Shadeclan." She mews friendly like to you.
You return the smile, instantly feeling welcome. "I can leave if you want." You pause for a minute and say this more quietly. "I just don't have anywhere to go."
She chuckles and her whiskers twitch with amusement. "Actually, I was just going to ask you if you would like to stay."

A long time ago, in the forest of the rogues, a forest where rogue cats lived side by side, not in an orderly fashion or big group like a clan; two brothers were born. They were named Shade and Shadow. Shade was a smaller Tom with a broad frame. His pelt was a dark brown at the top which trailed away, leaving a perfect shadowy color scheme on his pelt. His eyes were a piercing dark blue. His brother however was quite the opposite, size wise. Shadow was a tall black Tom with a thin frame and his eyes were a dark green. The two brothers lived side by side until an incident happened. On the night of the full moon which turned up once every month, the rogues in the forest had turned on each other, fighting for prey. Shade and Shadow were the only two cats left that didn't turn on each other.
Knowing that the rogues would tear themselves apart, Shadow leaped into the battle. As he tried to separate the yowling cats, a cat had sunk his teeth out of anger into Shadows neck. Shadow fell to the ground, but the rogues didn't stop. Shadow bled out, a pool of blood circling around him. Shade stood from the ledge that overlooked the clearing, he felt as if his heart was in his stomach as he watched his brother take his last breath. He flattened his ears and blinked away the tears that threatened to fall, he needed to be strong.
He turned back to the fight, his anger growing and he felt his heart going cold. He didn't even notice, but his voice rang out, louder than expected, "We aren't fools." Shade spat, looking down with hatred on the crowd of rogues below. "Answer me, does it help get more prey if we tear each other apart?" His voice was filled with anger. The rogues looked down with shame. "We are noble warriors, my brother won't die for nothing." Shade rang out, his voice filled with authority now. "Because, we are the dark and dangerous Shadeclan." He paused, his heart leaping as cats started to chant his name and the newly formed clan's name.
"Shadeclan! Shadeclan!"
"Shade! Shade! Shade!"
As the clan thrived living in the exact location of where the battle that started Shadeclan, ranks were formed. The clan needed other ranks besides Shade, for he would soon grow old and pass away without a heir. The clan decided it would be best to extend their names and soon it wove itself into the clan. Shade chose his suffix to be star. Every leader of Shadeclan and another clan after Shadestars time, still follow this tradition today. Being honored with 9 lives from your ancestors that the cats called star clan and having the suffix 'star'. All other cats were required to have a suffix ( not the suffix star ) unless they were a rogue, a lone cat outside of the clan.
☁ About The Cats ☁
The cats of Shadeclan are sleek and sly footed. Which means, they stick to the shadows, the shady parts of the forest. Despite their name, Shadeclan, these cats rarely get any sunlight shining through the trees and when they do, the enjoy it. Shadeclan cats usually have darker pelts. Sometimes a lighter pelted cat will be born or accepted into the clan but these cats usually have patterns and dark colored markings. Shadeclan cats usually have strong builds like broad shoulders, some cats are tall, and some cats are bulkier than others. This variety makes a strong clan, a strong Shadeclan.
Shadeclan cats are trustworthy and protective, which makes them secretive to outsiders.

The Territory Outside of the Camp ::
Outside of Shadeclan's camp, a vast forest slopes upwards slowly into the mountains. The forest is made up of mainly spruce, but a few maple and oak trees are scattered around. Near the Southern side of the territory, the forest thickens a little. Trees block shortcuts and brambles poke cats from every turn. On the North side, a river cuts through the territory, heading down the mountain. On the Western side, a thunderpath lays, where monsters wake and run. On the Eastern side, a cliff overlooks the unknown and unclaimed territory below.
Moon Slope:
On the night of the half moon, a small hill on the eastern side of the territory is covered in moonlight. Shadeclan cats believe this is where Starclan cats come down to say hello to their loved ones.
Moonlit River:
Moonlit River is where the leader will receive the nine lives and the responsibility of being leader. The leader must sleep on a smooth ledge behind the waterfall, sheltered from the outside world. The waterfall blocks all sounds from the outside world causing a quiet and peaceful place. The leader usually spends a night here.

Becoming The Leader ::
Before the destined leader becomes a leader, he or she must eat a mix of herbs from the medicine cat's choice. The soon-to-be leader will be accompanied by an apprentice and the medicine cat, all going to Moonlit River. Moonlit River is where the leader will receive the nine lives and the responsibility of being leader. The leader must sleep on a smooth ledge behind the waterfall, sheltered from the outside world. The waterfall blocks all sounds from the outside world causing a quiet and peaceful place. The leader usually spends a night here.

Leader ::
The cat who commands the clan. Can initiate anything, good or evil and is looked up to. The leader receives nine lives and their suffix 'star' when they greet their ancestors at Moonlit River. Anything that he/she says, goes.
Deputy ::
The deputy is second in command and substitutes for leader when the leader cannot. The deputy is usually the wisest of the clan.
Clan Advisor ::
The clan advisor gives advice to the leader and all clan members. The clan advisor is usually a high trusted clan member and is always friendly.
Medicine Cat ::
The cat in charge of curing injured or sick cats. Only the medicine cat and their apprentice can know what herbs are used for.
Medicine Cat Apprentice ::
Soon-to-be medicine cat, follows the medicine cat around helping with sick or injured cats.
Warrior ::
The force of the clan. These cats are the ones that protect the sick, injured, young, and old of the clan. The clan is usually made mostly up of warriors, ranging from 15 moons - 50 moons.
Apprentice ::
The apprentices are assigned to a warrior when they first become apprentices. They are taught how to fight and protect the clan.
Queen ::

Kit ::
A cat under 6 moons. (Self explanatory )
Elder ::
Doesn't have to do much, the clan takes care of elders. (Self explanatory )
