someone on twitter got both books today and has posted some photos of the books. Credit to them @liamysticv I recommend following them if you want more spoilers but anyway under the cut is some photos of Spottedpaw and Thistleclaw's relationship    this one is a bit hard to read, so I typed it out for people who can't see it. [Thistleclaw leaned toward her until their cheeks brushed. "I think a very great deal of you, Spottedpaw. Whenever I am in my nest, in the forest, patrolling the borders... you are always beside me." Spottedpaw couldn't breathe. Her heart was beating so hard, she thought Thistleclaw must be able to hear it. This wasn't like a warrior talking to an apprentices about her [???]. This was completely different. Thistleclaw was talking to her as if she was his equal. And she felt different, too. Am I falling in love?"What about you?" Thistleclaw prompted softly. "Do you think about me too?" Spottedpaw nodded. "Yes," she whispered. "But you're a warrior, and I'm only an apprentice...." "You won't be an apprentice forever! I've watched you train, and I know you'll pass your assessment with no trouble at all." Thistleclaw straightened up. "There is no harm in thinking about the future. Our future." "Really?" Spottedpaw felt her heart flip over. I must be dreaming!"Of course." Thistleclaw nodded solemnly. "Look around you. You believe in StarClan, don't you? We are surrounded by omens that tell us we should be together." Spottedpaw stared at him. "Are... are you sure?" Thistleclaw gestured with his tail. "Look at those two clouds, side by side. And those crows flying over the trees-- how many of them are there? That's right, two! Down there beside the river, do you see those two dark stones? But that scene makes me wonder- did he fall in love with Spottedleaf after Snowfur died?

Wow Thistleclaw is quite a charmer, isn't he O_o" I can see how he flattered Snowfur. But that scene makes me wonder- did he fall in love with Spottedleaf after Snowfur died? Pretty much, since Spottedleaf was born after Snowfur died. And speaking of Snowfur, I wouldn't be surprised if at least part of the reason Thistleclaw falls for Spottedpaw is because he sees Snowfur in her. |

Man, this is hilarious when you remember how obsessive she was over Firestar. I never expected this. I'm pretty sure no one expected this. XD And speaking of Firestar, now that ThistlexSpotted has been confirmed, I wonder if this experience had any sort of influence at all on how she felt about Firestar. |

It's not even the age difference that creeps me out (Thistleclaw is still pretty young himself at this point), it's the fact that Thistleclaw is nice is what I find weird. Then again, he's decent with pretty much anyone who isn't Bluestar.

Yeah, that's what I wondered on a different thread. Maybe Spotted saw some of Thistle's good side in Fire? Maybe. And her obsession over Firestar probably stems from the time where she pretty much almost became Thistleclaw's new mate. She clearly had to give him up once becoming a Featherwhisker's apprentice, so when she fell for Firestar, maybe she didn't want history to repeat itself and tried to hang onto him as long as possible even after she died and after Firestar took Sandstorm for a mate. |

...................welp now I know I really don't like Spottedleaf anymore At least she's given an actual personality here and the pairing actually has development more than FirexSpotted ever did. Other than the strange shipping, I think I may actually like Spottedleaf in this novella. |

I pretty much agree with Mothflight and don't mind the age gap but just find the ship really weird. They're so different to one another and it just feels like the pairing came out of nowhere. It's also quite sad to see Thistleclaw move on from Snowfur to Spottedleaf but as has been mentioned, perhaps he sees some of Snowfur in Spottedleaf as they're both quite gentle.
