First, you need the url to the image - something like www.site.com/image.gif ! Surround that link with img tags, like so:

[img]www.site.com/image.gif[/img]

It should work fine from there, as long as you aren't hosting it from your computer or something!

I don't know if this will work on your computer, but here is what I do.

When I find the gif I want, I right click and save it to downloads. Then, I go to tinypic and upload it there and then I just copy paste the one used for forums into the signature and that seems to work. It depends on if your computer will save it as a gif, or freeze it and save it as a picture.

There's a couple of things that could've happened.
1- did you make the gif yourself? if so, make sure to tick the "save as animation" (or similar wording) box when exporting it.
2- tinypic may just be having problems. I don't use it so i don't know about how reliable it is for gif, try imgur.

I noticed that the gif was too big to add as an attachment too, maybe it's too big in general?
