I know Leafpool's medicine skills are quite useful, but what bothered me is how the Erins decided to give her medicine cat rank back. I mean, I like her, and she has been punished enough, but the Erins were harsh on cats like Mapleshade and Yellowfang. So why did Leafpool get everything back?

My guess is the clans back then were more strict with the code hence that's why Yellowfang and Mapleshade got harsher punishments, You could say Firestar was less of a traditionalist. possibly why Leafpool to have rank back

Leafpool's punishment is the shame and guilt for a choice she made in the PAST. if they knew she was pregnant earlier, then would they be able to punish her then? You can't really punish someone who's pregnant, thats too cruel. Leafpool didn't need a punishment, imo. her shame and mistrust was enough.

Yeah, she earned it. Plus she's already gone through enough emotional, social, and mental anguish.
And the clan would benefit from her being a med. cat more than would with her being a warrior.

Imo if Jayfeather didn't ask her to come back or help in TLH then she wouldn't have got her rank back. But I feel like it was the right for her to get rank back because as a warrior she's not really that good as a warrior, but she did learn, but she's more useful as a medicine cat than a warrior.

Well, the clans needed her for the battle and all. Even if she didn't deserve it, which she did, she was still needed. The punishments for Yellowfang and Mapleshade are different circumstances. Mapleshade was exiled because of an omen and Yellowfang because Brokenstar framed her. Some cats just have worse luck than others. Plus Leafpool still lost her mate and kits. It's not like she got completely everything back.

Why not? She's a skilled, talented, and experienced medicine cat. If ThunderClan had found out Yellowfang was Brokenstar's mother earlier, should she have been forced to retire?
Plus I think that, considering ShadowClan is about to get driven out and most likely the other clans plunged into war, they need all the medicine cats they can get. Forget whether she deserves the rank or not- right now she needs to be in the field, not stuck in the elder's den for the sake of punishment and satisfaction.

I think she sucks at both jobs though. How? Leafpool trained under Cinderpelt, who trained under the wise, old yellowfang. Leafpool has always been a skilled medicine cat, even as a kit when she showed great interest because she helped cinderpelt even when she was a KIT. how does leafpool suck at being a medicine cat? you're just saying that because u dont like leafpool as a character.

Many cats died under Brambleberry's rule in Crookedstar's Promise. Does that make her a mad medicine cat? Cats died under Cinderpelt's rule, but that didn't make her a bad medicine cat either. Leafpool was able to handle ThunderClan as a sole medicine cat between Sunset and The Sight and there were few deaths. She also managed to help Mothwing out many times when she is under the stress of being a sole medicine cat. Leafpool is very calm as is overall a very skilled medicine cat.

I thought it was dumb that she had lost in the first place. All the older cats had known about her leaving with Crowfeather so they really shouldn't of been that surprised.
