Shimmerfire is a shimmery-furred tortoiseshell she-cat with amber eyes that shimmer when she's excited. She's always ready to serve her clan, no matter which one, and is very excitable and passionate, but can be impatient, brash, easily angered, and is more likely to get hurt falling off something than in battle. She fears that she's going to be ignored.
Skypool is a silver tabby tom with deep blue eyes. His calm, cool attitude matches his eyes, he can take a joke, and he's a bit overprotective, but he's often oblivious to others feelings, and is sometimes too calm and mature. He's good with kits as he has his gentle side. He fears that he could lose his chill.
These two don't remember their parents, who died a long time ago, nor their birth Clan.

You're going in the right place! I hope you don't mind a little constructive criticism?
Shimmerfire is not a bad name at all- it gives us a good image of this she-cat, and a brilliant image of what her name symbolizes. But Shimmer- is not a very realistic prefix. What made her mother call her that? But -fire is a very, very well-fitting suffix! Although short, her personality is very likable and realistic! I would work on focusing more on her negative, neutral, and positive traits. Is she outgoing? Introverted? Conceited? Insecure? Reserved or maybe easily trusting? Is she fiery or passionate, like her name implies? These are very good points to start working on in order to improve your character-describing abilities!
I'll be honest, Skyheart is a rather... meh(?) name. It's quite generic, although it works very well in a traditional sense. Again, good job with balancing out his personality! He has realistic traits that don't clash, as long as you don't go to an extreme with them that wouldn't make sense with his main attitude and vibe that you said- calm and cool. Some ideas that you could use with expanding his character are: is he serious? mature? TOO serious or mature? or does he know when to relax and take a joke, so to speak? How does he take to new cats or cats he isn't used to? How does he feel about his birth Clan, parents, etc?
I hope I'm not being a bother, just trying to help! c:

We were all newbies once, no worries there! I suggest doing this simple exercise when first creating your characters, challenge yourself by making yourself write out three negative traits, two neutral ones, and three positive ones. Here's an example with my character, Lilysplash: Lilysplash is a kind [positive trait], patient [positive trait], tender-hearted [positive trait] she-cat, she is also energetic [neutral trait], quiet [neutral trait]. But she can also be forgetful [negative trait], cowardly [negative trait], and a perfectionist [negative trait]! This is just a very basic idea of this, and it may help you with expanding upon your character in the future! I suggest looking at this link: anotherwarriorrp.proboards.com/thread/22219/traits-positive-negative-neutral-skills but checking definitions of the words before adding them, some can be a bit confusing! ^^
