Recently I found the smallest North American deer listed. Keys Deer, I think it was.

Muntjac! That was it. I found the site where I got my info in researching for NEW BLOOD (yep researched for a fan fic!)
Small deer. The Muntjac deers body length can measure up to 90 centimetres in length, about the same size as an adult fox. Easy prey for a couple of Clan Maine Coons and company.
A Roe deer is larger The Roe Deer is quite a small deer, with a body length of 95 – 135 centimetres (3.1 – 4.4 feet), a shoulder height of 65 – 75 centimetres (2.1 – 2.5 feet) and weighing 15 – 30 kilograms (33 – 66 pounds).
I knew that Clan cats cooperated in hunts like lions, so it was not stretch to have very large cats like Maine Coons (averaging 15-20 lbs) working together to take them down and give the Clans nice big meals. Esp when I decided to give them some frigid snowy Leaf Bares . . . . .
Fallow Deer maybe-since the smallest is about 60 pounds and fawns are around 10. They range from about 60 to 180 pounds so not so easy for a Clan hunting patrol, but not impossible.
Sika are also a tad large weighing between 60 to 150 lbs, but like Fallow a small individual might be prey!
Red Deer are way too big at about 600 pounds.
In North America I have not researched if we have deer that small but the Key deer you maenton may be! Key Deer are native to Florida, weigh between 45- 65 pounds and is a subspecies of the White Tail deer. A bit big, but not impossible prey either. It was interesting doing that research and it sure is plausible in NEW BLOOD.
