Loki could have said something about how his adopted brother, Thor affiliated himself with them now after he had been banished by Odin that one time. Then thought differently. He didn't need to know everything about Loki. Some secrets were best kept hidden. Besides, even if he wasn't working with S.H.I.E.L.D. he still might have something to say. "If you aren't with them, then who do you work for?" Loki was not aware of HYDRA as of right now. _____________________________________________
He had taken her out of the cell, fed her, and even spoke to her. What else was left to do? He couldn't expect her to start training now, surely? Madeline got up out of her seat, shoulders hunched, knuckles gripping the sides of her gown. Her skin was pale and crawling with heat. Madeline began to follow him.

The scraggly man shook his head, almost too violently for the question, screwing his eyes up so that they almost disappeared in his pale skin for a moment. "That is confidential," he informed, unable to not answer a question from a person that his brain had somehow deemed to be his superior. And, during every attack, this Loki had beat him, so that was what his brain decided to mark the tall, ravenette man down as. A superior.
---
It wasn't too far down the hall they had originally come from that Bucky opened another door, this one uncooked as well, and led her inside. He had planted his hand firmly on her shoulder during the walk down. "Follow," he instructed, heading towards a wall of what looked like bulletproof kevlar vests, headgear, and even leg pads, like the stuff he was wearing, but a bit bulkier.

[What specific mission is Bucky on? I know he's getting away from them, but what's he trying to do?]
Now was the time he wished he had the power to mind read as well. He could probably get a lot of information that way, seeing that this guy was more of an introvert, and probably had so much going through his head. Again, Loki had no idea about the insane situations he had been through. "I'm not very fond of SHIELD either.." he began, looking over the edge down at the agents who looked like tiny black ants scurrying around the ground with their little guns held up close to their faces. Loki scoffed at them. "Pathetic mortals." Perhaps he could convince him enough that he was "on his side" to manipulate a way of getting the information he wanted out of him. ______________________________________________________________
Madeline flinched under his grip, and it was even more startling that he had used his metal arm, not the other. It made that mechanical noise that machines made when they operated. It was so unnatural, so inhuman. When they reached the wall of padded armor, she studied it with wide eyes. She reached out her free arm to let her fingertips brush the black leather. Touching it made a bolt of strength suddenly flash through her body but it disappeared as soon as it had come. She shook her head.

[[ i was just thinking the usual assassination sorta thing and it went wrong when some of the guys who worked with whoever he killed saw him. he was just waiting for hydra to pick him up. ]]
There was a pause, and then the man ventured, almost shyly as he crept to the edge, peering over as well, "Good." He had no idea what else to say. This man did not talk to him like any of his handlers did. He talked to him like the Asset had heard people he had killed talked to one another, or how he pretended to talk when there was no other alternative. It gave him a strange feeling deep in his chest that he wasn't sure if he liked, and a question bubbled on his lips. It was grating to get it out, but he managed it after a moment. "Where do you come from?" Against mission directive.
---
The man picked it over until he pulled out a small vest and a helmet, holding them out to her with a simple grunted, "Try those on." He had no plan to start anything drastic until she was fully conditioned, but why not find her gear? He knew that they would be angry if he accidentally killed their newest solider.

[Ah okay.]
He raised an eyebrow at him, crossing his eyes and remaining silent. This guy wouldn't give him his answer, but he expected something from him. Selfish much? Loki thought. But did it matter really? He hardly knew that a being like Loki existed before he had mentioned who and what he was. "I hail from Asgard. It's not of this realm. But I guess that doesn't exist either." he sneered. "Seeing as you don't believe in real gods." _______________________________________________________________
Madeline took the gear and put it on, adjusting it slightly to fit snugly on her body. She buckled up the vest where it needed to be. It was heavy and dragged at her limbs like heavy weights.

She buckled up the vest where it needed to be. It was heavy and dragged at her limbs like heavy weights. "There is no such thing," the Asset insisted softly, though it was as much as a person in his current mental state could manage to resist what someone said. He moved back from the edge of the roof, running a hand through his knotty brown hair and trying to figure out what he was going to do. He could not just go with this man. His objective was to make it to the pickup point. "Does that bother you?" he asked after a moment, voice unsure, "that no one believes in gods?"
---
Everything looked to be within acceptable parameters to him. After a moment of poking and prodding, the man stepped back, saying simply, "Alright, now, show me how you punch." He laid a hand on one side of his chest to show her where before simply waiting.

The question he asked Loki made him wonder if this man was trying to push the limits as far as he could go without getting hurt. He felt his face flush, but just a bit. He knew he needed to control his temper. "Of course, it does." he admitted openly. "How would you feel if you were worshiped, or feared, and the next the whole world hardly knew you existed? Your people have lost their high moral. They are stupid, and lazy, and selfish. Sitting around all day and wasting their time with foolish practices." ________________________________________________________________________________
Madeline squared her feet to keep good balance and lifted her arms into position with her fists clenched so tightly that her nails dug into her palms and created white indentations. She extended her right arm swiftly and threw out a punch at his chest. It wasn't weak, but it wasn't strong either.

"I don't have a religion," the man said. He still felt odd, like he was floating above the rest, and not just because he was on a big building. He felt so, so weary all of a sudden. "We cannot stay up here," he finally said, shaking his head like he was trying to get water out of his ears, "they will send helicopters to check the rooftops." His handlers would not come now, that S.H.I.E.L.D. was crawling around. They would certainly want to reward this man who had helped him though, so he said, a bit hesitantly, "I know a place close by where we might be able to hide."
---
"Bad," the man informed, not even moving due to momentum as her fist made contact with his shoulder, "you are too tense. You need strength that comes from your muscles, not just how tight they are when you hit." Try it again." He patted his same shoulder, waiting, eyes unmoved.

"Where?" Loki prompted him to answer. He had limited knowledge of this place and it's whereabouts, being that'd he'd never been here in Washington D.C. before. "Can you see it from here?" If he pointed out where it was, Loki might have been able to make the trip faster using his powers again. _______________________________________
She gritted her teeth and struck again, this time with more force and loosened muscles. If her previous punch had been too weak, it gave her more courage to fight harder if it didn't affect him the last time. Her throw was better than the last, but her thoughts still weren't focused on the current situation and more on soaking in everything that was happening around them even though they were alone. "How was that?" her eyes searched his, but there was nothing. She wasn't expecting praise either. Madeline still wasn't fully for this training anyways, what was the point of it?

The Asset pointed, to an old rundown building on the horizon. "There," he told Loki. Inside was a cot, a small stash of food and water, and a couple of battery packs to allow him to charge electronics to keep in contact with anyone he might need to stay in contact with. Not nice, but suitable, and he had no qualms against it, since they gave him no other option.
---
This one actually moved him, ever so slightly, and a small flash of approval glinted in his eyes before dissipating. "Better," he said, though nothing else, not even that it was good, because in the soldier's eyes, it wasn't, "you have a lot of improving to do. You know how to handle guns?"

Loki sighed. "Hold on tight." he said as way to let him know they were going to teleport. Again. He grabbed his shoulder, feeling utterly exhausted. This constant transportation business was draining his energy. The earth swirled around him and soon they were in the man's hideout. It wasn't cozy, but he could see how he made his 'home" here, if that's what he called it. _________________________________________
She thought there was a slight sense of approval from him, but then dismissed it. An illusion. Madeline thought. This guy was just about expressive as a robot, nothing seemed to change him. She gave a small shake of her head when he asked her. And if she had had past experience, she didn't recall it then.

The Asset was tired to. As Loki landed them he shrugged his grip away, heading towards the cooler he kept in the corner of the little abandoned room, pulling it open, and immediately downing a bottle of water. "Take the cot," he said, almost commandingly, as he let himself slide down the wall, into a sitting position. He had no need for a comfortable place to sleep. He supposed gods did.
---
He seemed disgruntled, the corners of his lips twitching downwards before he shook his head and said, gesturing to a locked and chained rack of weapons on the wall, "We will start with that soon. I believe it is safe to say that I cannot trust you with one today."

Loki didn't hesitate to take that opportunity. He dusted off the cot the best he could, as it was covered in white powder that looked like sawdust, and positioned himself in a half-sitting position with his legs crossed and his head propped up. He would wait for the other man to fall asleep first, in case this was some sort of way he was planning to lay a trap. Bored, he placed his hands his lap, watching intently as little flares of energy grew in his palms and then died out. Suddenly, he broke the silence. "I don't remember you telling me what your name is, I gave you mine." _______________________________________________________
She might have laughed at that if they had been normal people in a normal friendly relationship, but they weren't. And that was fine. She didn't want to know him or what he was thinking. She didn't want him to "train" her either. "So do we keep this up or....?" a yawn broke her questioning and she took her wrist to rub her forehead while waiting for an answer.

A strangled noise came out of the Asset's throat as he opened his mouth. It was soft, but it was clearly a sound of confusion. A name? He had never been asked that question before. "I don't have one," he said, softly, brow furrowed together. He hadn't really thought of it before. He didn't have a name. Everything had a name, even animals were given names by people. He rolled his shoulders, lips pursed as he seemed to curl in on himself, arms wrapping around his torso like he was giving himself a hug, not that that really made him look any less terrifying.
---
"For now, no. I should be escorting you back to your cell," he replied with a small shake of his head, making a gesture at her that was deft and emotionless as the rest of him, but clearly inferred that she should start taking off the body armor he'd supplied her with.

Loki twisted around to face him. "You don't have one." he repeated. He was about to continue and ask what he called himself, then decided not to. That would just be asking the same thing. "So you don't have a name, and you won't tell me who you work for. That's.. helpful." he muttered. _____________________________________________________
Madeline pulled off the helmet and unstrapped the armor until she was left with nothing but the gown she had woken up in, and the small shorts she was wearing underneath. She was grateful this session was over and she could get back to her cell to contemplate everything that had happened so far. And rest. God, she needed it. She didn't know how long she'd been under, and had only been up for a few hours but the stimulation she'd had was enough.

And, with that, the Asset was asleep. He had no awareness of his loss of consciousness, or how tired he really was, but his head sagged to his chest before he could even think of any answer to provide the so-called god with, not that he could think one up. He had never had a name, as far as he knew, but a long, long time ago, it had been something. Bucky.
---
The man waited patiently enough, by the door with his arms crossed over his chest. When she came over, he held the door for her again, seemingly trusting her to be smart enough not to try and run away.

Loki closed his eyes and rested peacefully on the cot. His vision was black and silent until he was in deep sleep. That was when he dreamed that he was back in Asgard. He walked down the main hall, expecting to see Odin in his chair, but he wasn't. Instead, his figure was replaced by the buff shape of Thor instead. He didn't look pleased, and he was clad in armor. Loki approached him with a sly grin. The oaf. It was Loki who should be King. "Thor, I--" he was cut off. "Guards!" Thor roared and his deep voice reverberated around him. Loki looked around, and the hall that was empty a minute ago, was now swarming with Asgardian soldiers. Thinking fast, he tried his normal trick he used to get out of heated situations. Teleportation. Yet this time, he couldn't. Panic bubbled in him as they closed in. He couldn't escape... Loki burst awake with a gasp, sweat beading on his forehead. Just a dream. He told himself. _____________________________________________________
She walked out in her bare feet, hardly making a sound. They were in the same hall as before. The one that led down to her cell and the dining area. She longed to crawl back onto that ugly mattress and collapse. But then the question she wondered now was if he had to stand guard over her again as she had discovered him doing in their first confrontation. Without a word, she pointed down at her cell and looked at him.

The man still sat where he had been in the inky blackness, but he was awake, alert, staring over at Loki where he squirmed. In the murky half light his only discernible features were those glinting eyes which seemed to be the only shining things in the cramped room. Everything else bled into whatever was around it, making the area shapeless until morning broke. "You were screaming," the eyes' voice came, "have been screaming." This Loki had woken him up. Gods didn't have nightmares, or the Asset didn't assume that they could, and for awhile there had been internal debate as to whether those were cries of fight or cries of pain.
---
Cocking an eyebrow, he nodded silently, shooing her forward with one hand as he closed the door. A few guards were roaming the halls now, unabashedly staring Madeline and her escort down, eyes narrowed or curious or judging or suspicious. And the solider, well, his eyes were as bleak as they normally seemed to be, matching the grey walls and flooring around them.

Loki inhaled deeply through his nostrils. "I'm fine." he said. "Absolutely fine." He turned over to hide the fear that still was in his eyes, even though it was dark and no light shone through. This man couldn't see that he was afraid. It would ruin everything he had worked for. _______________________________ Madeline's chin was bowed down to keep her face hidden from the guards they passed until they reached the cell. She went slowly, but straight for the bed, sitting with her knees tucked into her chest and her arms wrapped around them. She waited patiently to see if he would leave or stay. Only then would she rest.

There was silence for a minute, and then a simple, "Okay," before the Asset himself rolled over slightly and rested his cheek on the cold wall, eyes narrowed as he tried to doze back off again, ears straining to try to hear Loki's breathing. It was rapid, like he was scared. He was definitely not fine, but he had told the Asset that he was fine.
---
The solider paused for a bit. He was allowed to stay, but he knew that he would be put back into cryo for the night if he left. He didn't want that, he hated it, so he stepped into the room, closed the door, and sat down in the stool he had originally been in.

[Morning now for them I assume?] _______________________________________________
A lump formed in her throat. So he was staying, and that bothered her because it left her with no privacy. She tried to roll over, squeeze her eyes shut, and pretend it was all a bad dream. The cell, the man, the training, all of it. She shivered slightly, bringing her arms up close to her chest to hopefully get warmer.

The man was still asleep as dawn peeked through the broken windows, dreaming. He twitched in his sleep, facial muscles moving minutely as he sat there, curled in on himself with his arms still hugging his torso. It was morning, and now Loki was fully rested. His sleep had been pretty decent for sleeping on a cot, and even after waking up in the middle of the night from his nightmare. He looked over to see the other man still there. So he hadn't decided to ambush him while he was sleeping. But now Loki didn't know what he could do. His plan had been to come to earth and rule it, and now he had this guy hanging over his mind. They were similar in ways-- both outcasts that had a fight to pick with S.H.I.E.L.D. "You." he said. "Wake up."

The Asset stirred, light eyes opening, and he looked up slowly, rolling his neck and asking, simply, "What?" Of course he assumed there was something wrong, since he was being woken, or that HYDRA or S.H.I.E.L.D. was here. His dream had left his mind now, and he stood, walking over to the cooler again to find another bottle of water to chug. He pulled one out, almost ripping the cap off as he gulped it down, brushing his dirty hair out of his face with his free hand.

The breeze blew in from a crack in the wall, tickling Loki's face. "We should get going." he told him. That was easy to say, but where to was what he really wanted to know. Should he just leave on his own by himself, or go with wherever he was off to? _____________________________ [Great! How much time do you think should have passed? Sorry, so many questions.]

"To where?" The Asset asked scratchily, vocalizing Loki's thoughts and brushing some spilled droplets of water off of his face as he chucked the bottle into the corner. His shoulder hurt ever so slightly, and he gently felt around it under his armor. The wound was closed, but he could feel the lump of shrapnel embedded under his skin. If this Loki was a god, how could he not have removed that as well? The Asset only shook his head, moving his hand away and looking to Loki again.

Loki rolled his eyes. "Wherever you were headed originally?" he asked. "Unless you were just hanging about this city." He quietly observed him as he touched his arm. From the way he was feeling it, Loki predicted the man was hurt, but he didn't offer any sympathy.
________________
Madeline had now been at this secret facility, without a clue still of what it was called, for a while now. She couldn't tell how long, that part had phased her. She had been training with her "guard" every day and could feel her strength slowly easing back with the regular exercise. It was a bit frustrating that he hadn't told her his name or any more information about where they were and the purpose of these actions after all this time, but she was still too afraid to ask, and instead followed orders without complaint. She knew the faster she finished her tasks, the faster she could end her day.

"I was not headed anywhere," The Asset said numbly. He needed to be reset. Hid head was foggy. He had not been going anywhere. They had never arrived to collet him. "But I was not 'hanging about' the city either. We... we should keep moving, to stay away from S.H.I.E.L.D. They will be looking for the both of us." It was a surprise they hadn't been found yet, in all honesty.
---
This morning, her trainer was talking to someone outside of the cell, one of the men who wore lab coats. It was time for Madeline's training, but he was talking to this man, a spark of some emotion in him that he couldn't identify as he said, quietly, "She is not getting enough to eat. I'm sorry, but she will not be strong enough to..." Smack. The man raised a hand to his cheek as the scientist struck him across the face. "It's not your place to ask questions." The man simply nodded, pulling his own hand down from his face before opening Madeline's door, stepping inside with a silent nod, eyes staring down at the dirty floor.

"Then you should do what you can to dispose of this place." Loki replied. "Dispose of it. Burn it. Something to keep S.H.I.E.L.D. off your tracks." He hoped the guy wouldn't get too sentimental about his "home". But he didn't look like the type to do so. "I can help with that." He grinned mischievously, and welded his hands where in between little sparks were forming. _________________________________
Madeline had been at the door with her ear against its cold surface and tried to eavesdrop about what was being said. All she could hear was slight murmuring that was too soft to understand. When the conversation seemed to be over, she scrambled back to her bed, sitting down quickly and crossing her arms. She looked up when her trainer came back in. Whatever he had been discussing, he didn't look happy. But what was to be expected, he always did.

The Asset just watched the sparks, eyes blank as he said, without too much thought, "Wait a moment." He turned, pulling up some floor tiles and acquiring what looked like a go-bag, a second set of clothes, and a gun and knife. He changed shirts quickly, revealing the scarring around his metal arm for a moment, and then shoved the rest of the clothes in his bag, tucking the knife and gun away. "Okay, I'm ready," he then replied, gazing steadily at Loki, before heading towards the back entrance.
---
The man just jerked his head for Madeline to come. His face was stinging, and he looked up after a moment, though he pointedly made her to turn his reddening cheek so that it wasn't visible. His eye was stinging with tears, from the pain, not the anger or sadness at being hit. He didn't like to seem weak, in front of anyone, especially his trainee. Weakness was a punishable, diminutive thing.
