Hey guys, it’s been a while, huh? Well, I thought an update was long overdue.
As most of you know, this is my final year at school – year 12, high school senior, whatever you want to call it. That means that I am insanely busy all the time. Seriously, there’s no escaping it. That’s why I’m rarely around anymore. I only have the time for five or ten minutes each day, if I’m lucky, mostly when I’m on the bus on my way home.
In two weeks, I’m on holidays, so I’ll be a little bit more active then, but not much. I have two assignments and two major projects that I’m slowly chipping away at, and I plan on using any free time I have to draw comic pages.
I do, however, have a bunch of one-shots that I’ll be putting up any day now. Keep an eye out!
So, what does this mean for my projects?
Westward - Like I said, free time is devoted to comic pages. Ideally I’d like to have enough drawn in the holidays so that I can start uploading again, but realistically, updates will probably start around November. The first chapter – and parts of the rest – have undergone a massive rewrite, and it’s finally the story I want to tell. I also ironed out the kinks in the plotline, so that’s good.
I currently hammer out concept sketches in my free time. Some of them I post online, but most are filed away into the Concept Book tm. At some point, I will consolidate them into an art dump, which will be posted here.
Return to Dust - Remember when I said I was working on a humanised version of Return to Dust? Well, that’s still happening. I get random ideas that are currently being stored in the Ideas Book tm. After I finish school in November, I have a full year to devote to my projects before I head off to university. I plan to work it into a fully developed novel, and start writing during this time.
Not much of it is ready for sharing yet, but I can tell you that the human version is a little darker, a little stranger, and toes the line of paranormal. The setting has been switched from a fantasy-style one to a modern one, and a few characters have swapped gender and roles.
Some of you also know that for my final English project I am working on an actual short story. The best in the state will be published into an anthology. Earlier this week, I was told by a friend who’s helping me out that she thought that it had the potential to become a fully fledged novel, so it will become the basis for RTD to build upon.
Other Projects – I do have some other stuff that’s going on in the background, but they have all been shelved until Westward and RTD are well underway. Unfortunately, this means that one of my personal favourite stories will be pushed back quite a bit, but that setting is far from being ready to write. You might see some concepts dumped at one point.
What does it mean for you?
You guys can expect sneak peaks and concept dumps once I have stuff ready for sharing. You guys deserve that <3 Like I said, I’ll dump some art soon, in the next few weeks, and you can expect sneak peaks for RTD around June/July.
