(Hey Fern)
At the sound of another voice, not quite like the one he was just speaking with moments ago, Vincent turned around with a curious look on his face and saw he had another customer. "Ay lass, what can I do ya 'fer?", he asked as he set down the cloth he was using to clean the sword blades and crossed his arms in front of his chest, ears perked. Arabella pulled out her sword, "I want this sharpened. As sharp as you can get it, whatever the cost." She reached into another pocket and pulled out a large sack of her own gold coins and threw it to him, "I want your best work. Nothing less."

She reached into another pocket and pulled out a large sack of her own gold coins and threw it to him, "I want your best work. Nothing less." Vincecent took the sword from her to examine it. "Let us see what we got here...", he said, looking it over. "This is a fencing sword ain't it? Not an unfamiliar field to me but 'tis not something I work in often", he said. He ran his paw's pad overy the edge of it and felt how dull it was, he looked up and behind him to look for his sharpening tools.

"For as much as I am willing to pay, it better be the greatest you can give me. And yes, it is a fencing sword. I prefer something lightweight and quick." She lowered her mask and tucked her hair behind her ear. She was tempted to cross her arms but didn't want to appear like she wasn't disciplined by the senior guards. It was frowned upon to not practice or use what you are told when in training or outside.

Jag made his way to the tavern, limping. He was half transformed, and his long tangled mane was dragging behind him. He growled at a group of kids playing in the street. "Stay off the roads!" He barked, not stopping to talk. Foolish children, it's almost as if they wanted to get run over by speeding wagons.

"My apologies sir. I didn't realize you were a former guard. Do you mind if I step out for a moment to get some food and come back?" She felt ashamed at the way she addressed the former guard. Arabella was supposed to respect all who were and are guards. She found herself starting to stand up straighter like her commander has just entered the room.

Arabella closed the door quietly as to not disturb the blacksmith's work. She tried to give the appearance of someone dependable and strong as she walked over to the tavern. There weren't too many people at this hour but there were still people. She saw Jag, a fellow guard in her unit. Arabella nodded in acknowledgement of his presence in the tavern and then looked away but turned back again when she realized he was injured. She walked over to him, slowly, just in case he didn't want her company. "What happened?" She asked.

Jag turned to Arabella. He always admired her speed and skill, and was proud to see her working to be a full guard. He felt that he could trust her with what happened. "It was that blasted fox. I was just tryin' to keep order in this town, and the fox stepped in to stop me. Took me by surprise! I'll see him arrested yet, for interfering with king Saber's guardsmen!" he growled.

Arabella- She smiled a bit, "can you explain what exactly you were trying to keep in order?" She pulled up a chair next to him and examined a bruise on his face. "I just met a fox, by the way. He's working on my sword right now. Did you know he was a former guard?" Her bangs fell in her face again. Those things were enough to drive anyone mad. She was tempted to cut them off when she got to the female barracks or when she stopped by her parent's house. Arabella blew them out of the way before tucking them back behind her ear.

She was tempted to cut them off when she got to the female barracks or when she stopped by her parent's house. Arabella blew them out of the way before tucking them back behind her ear. "Ah, y-yes, well.. I was just patrolling town, you see? And this peasant started downtalking me, called me a brawny fool with no brains, so I thought I'd frighten him, you know? The townsfolk need to know their place. I didn't hurt him, and I didn't intend to, but.. anyways, I scared him a bit and he fell to the ground, and.. that's when the fox showed up." He looked away from her and stared at his cup of ale. "I guess things just got out of hand. It was my fault, I suppose." It was hard to admit to himself or to anyone else that he might have been wrong at some point, but the ale was doing its trick and Jag's tongue was loostening.

Arabella- She giggled at his story, "You don't need to prove your worth to them you know. If they want to downtalk to you, just remember, at least you can have food on the table. But don't say that outloud...that would be pretty mean." Arabella was slightly in awe at the sound of Jag admitting he was wrong. He was very prideful and always wanted to show his worth. *maybe there's something in the drink...* she thought.

Jag managed a half smile. She was right, of course. He always heard the townsfolk complaining about food, among other things. But he himself never had that problem. He thought about what the other guards taught him, when he was just a boy- always take a little more than you need, and always assert your dominance; in this way, you'll always end out on top. But Jag didn't say any of this out loud to Arabella. He shook his head, as if clearing his mind, and remembered his anger. "Right or wrong, the fox still interfered. He made me look like a darn fool..." he said, clenching his giant paw in anger.

A young man, by the looks of it, was swiftly walking into the nearby tavern, his heavy black boots making clunking sounds on the wooden floor of the tavern. He was feeling rather peckish and needed something to eat, maybe something to drink, and as this was his favourite tavern by far, he knew this was the right place to do so. He sat down next to a chatting man and woman, smelling faint blood off of the half-transformed man and scoffing slightly. The smell of blood always allured him, because of his dragon, but he tried to distance himself from the wonderful smell. He called one of the employees over for something to eat.
"Hello Mikey!" She said in an enthusiastic voice, knowing the young man enough to know his name. "What can I get for you?"
"Some water and bread, please." His voice carried an accent that was almost alien to the land, and in modern times, would sound like a thick New Jersey accent. The employee nodded and sped off to go get what he ordered, the man sliding over some coins towards were she sped off to. His hazel eyes were slow, almost sly, as he looked over everyone in the tavern through his dirty blond hair.

Arabella- "Maybe that'll be a lesson for next time, mr. AllpowerfulJag." She teased. Arabella liked to mess with him at times, but only in his lion form. In his human form he was more respectable. She liked talking to him in that way. Arabella never really used her shifting abilities unless she felt the need to. Which was hardly ever. The townsfolk aren't really intimidating or armed for the most part. As a trainee she hasn't taken part in battle just yet. She hopes to defend her kingdom beause if they were to be handed over to their enemies they could be worse off than where they are now. "Oh, I forgot, I'm getting something to go." She quickly got up from her chair, "See you later maybe Jag." She started walking toward the tavern counter where she could order her food but stood behind someone she hasn't really noticed before. Mickey, was his name, according to the lady at the front. She studied him a bit before pulling up her mask as she prepared to leave as soon as she received her food that Arabella has yet to order.

Fayne stopped running when he reached the place the girl said she was taking the cart. He noticed she was quite far behind him, so he waited as patiently as he could. He sat down and scratched his ear with his hind leg, like a typical wolf would. He also ate all of the vegetables he paid for, despite the fact that they were raw. When the girl finally appeared to be within earshot, he jumped to his feet and called to her, "HEEYY!" WHAT WAS YOUR NAME AGAIN?"completely oblivious to the townsfolk around him giving him strange looks. (He's so cheerful xD)
Astra couldn't contain her small laughs at the boys odd, excited behaviour. She sped up her pace as she yelled, laughing again at the startled looks other villagers gave him. He seemed oblivious to their gaze. She made her way all the way to him to avoid yelling her answer. She smiled lightly at him, momentarily forgetting about her eyes and looking up at him. For some reason his cheery, goofy personality just made her want to smile. "Well, I never actually gave you my name, but I'm Astra" She said, another warm smile touching her lips, "You are?"

Had it come from anyone else, Jag would have growled at them. But something about the way Arabella spoke to him made him smile. But it also made him think. He was lost in thought for a moment before he realized that Arabella was leaving. "Right. I'll see you around town, Arabella." He responded in his low, husky voice. He took another swig of ale and continued to quietly think to himself.

Mikey shot her a 'what do you need?' look before turning around again, to see his meal placed in front of him on the counter. He gave a silent thanks to the employee, who shot him a small smile before heading to help another customer. Mikey went over to sit at the counter and began to pick at his food, eating it bit by bit, drinking his water occasionally. He kept a wary eye on the girl with the mask, blinking slowly as his eye carried a suspicious glint.
