Seafoam's claws flexed and retracted with annoyance as she thought more and more about their precious territory being stolen. "We've held sunningrocks for moons now. I had thought at this point they may have given up on getting it back. I guess that was a foolish dream of mine. Lightningstar is going to have to send out more cats on patrols even if we don't decide to try and take them back. You never know what Riverclan could be planning." “We need to find a way to get more prey…So far Shadowclan and Windclan have been able to use territory not marked in their borders. I thought the prey would return to us by now, but for some reason it hasn’t. Hollowkit hobbled by the other day, she looked skinnier than I liked to see. No kit deserves to go hungry.” The empathetic tom fretted, thinking of his own grandkits too. “Maybe Lightningstar could apprentice Drizzlekit and Flurrykit to give us some extra paws to help.”

Seafoam looked towards the nursery with a sigh, "I'm sure they're ready, I just hope they'll stay out of harm's way for any upcoming battles. They're too young for that."

Seafoam looked towards the nursery with a sigh, "I'm sure they're ready, I just hope they'll stay out of harm's way for any upcoming battles. They're too young for that." "Lightningstar wouldn't send them into battle so early." Yarrowcloud assured, knowing his mentor and knowing he would never endanger brand new apprentices. He fretted though as he looked towards his sister's den. "Eclipsepaw had some rough injuries, last I saw. I can't imagine Lightningstar will be thrilled to know his apprentice was hurt in such a way. That patrol was not suited for battle. Eclipsepaw is still learning our ways, and Slatesight does not have strong battle training. Riverclan would have won before it even started...Ngh, it makes my fur bristle!" He sighed heavily.

"I don't know..." Magpiewing responded after a moment. Sometimes she didn't know what to think. Her father was a medicine cat, a follower of StarClan, who broke the code. She had been so angry when she found out that she caused his own downfall. A part of her still felt bitter over it. She shouldn't have been born. Was StarClan punishing the Clan for both Shadeclaw and Slatesight's actions? "All the Clans suffered from AdderClan back then. Wouldn't StarClan have punished RiverClan and SkyClan for that? Maybe the Dark Forest is punishing us, if they have that kind of power..." Slatesight stood, shaking out his pelt. "You would? Thank you, Hornetstrike." Maybe he could find a way to manage this. "I know I'll be able to count on you." "Maybe everyone is against us." Mothsong sighed heavily. "Thunderclan has no friends in a time like this. Rouges constantly after us, Riverclan will surely flaunt their prey. Shadowclan still has Fourtrees and Starclan hasn't said a peep about it!" Mothsong's ears fell flat as she huffed. "The Dark Forest has probably infected more of our clanmates. Who can we trust?" "I'd do anything for you, Slatesight. You're my best friend." Hornetstrike chuckled lightly, nudging the larger tom with a twinkle in his eyes. "We'll make you into a snappy Warrior yet. It could also be a good way to have some time with your kits..." He frowned softly then, sympathy in his eyes. "Is Magpiewing still closed off around you?" "I don't know." Magpiewing replied once again, staying quiet for a moment. "I... I thought I could trust that Hornetstrike was my father, back before the secret came out... that I was a normal ThunderClan cat." she admitted. "Once I found out the truth, I felt destroyed. Even lonely, though my siblings felt just as lost and confused as me. I feel like I lost a lot of trust that day." She stopped to look at the other she-cat. "And I don't blame Hornetstrike for what he did, or Mapleleaf... they both raised me like they would anyone else. I'm just glad that I'm not the only one who feels that way." "The feeling's mutual." Slatesight spoke. "I hate to say it, but she still is. I don't think she ever forgave me for what I did, or even sees me as her father." the tom said, his voice dropping to a dismayed tone. "But I don't know if she still sees you as her father, either. I wish I could talk to her."

"But I don't know if she still sees you as her father, either. I wish I could talk to her." Mothsong listened silently. Perhaps moons ago she would have sneered Slatesight and Mapleleaf’s names. She had once believed Hornetstrike to be lesser since he had been found as an outsider kit, long before it was known that Quailsong was his father. But now, looking at the pain in Magpiewing’s eyes, and knowing of her own pain in never being told the truth of her own father, she couldn’t find those sour feelings anymore. If anything, she felt less lonely knowing someone understood. “Well…” Mothsong murmured. “I understand that, alot actually. Your father’s a medicine cat that broke the code. My father was a murderous rogue who terrorized everyone he ever met. Neither of us were supposed to be born, and yet…I guess we’re still here. I appreciate that you’re here. I’ve always respected your dedication and your blunt honesty. It’s refreshing compared to being tiptoed around.” Hornetstrike looked at Slatesight with a twinge of guilt, though he soon shook his head and assured. “I hope Magpiewing knows, father or not, that I would always be there for her if she needed me to be. I think most kits want that, in the end, to know that you will be there for them. Maybe it’s time we truly ask how Magpiewing feels…and maybe assure her that you’re still her father and that you love her, even if she revealed the truth.”

Lightingstar looked at Ghostscreech. "I'm not sure..." He sighed. It was agasint the warrior code to hunt outside their territory but Shadowclan was doing it and they did need the prey... He shook his head before speaking. "Lets talk to Eclispsepaw, she knows the twolegplace best."

He shook his head before speaking. "Lets talk to Eclispsepaw, she knows the twolegplace best." Peachdapple nodded to the two, mewing as she turned to slip from the den. “Just call me when you’re ready to go on that patrol to speak with Skyclan. The less hostile we look, the better. We’re striking a deal, not a demand.” She humored, before she reminded herself that she needed to see if they could get a cat or two out to help collect herbs.

Ghostscreech nodded to Peachdapple, “I’ll find another warrior to go with us. We’ll leave as soon as you’re ready.” He said, then looked at Lightningstar, “I know hunting in Twolegplace isn’t ideal, but with prey running short, we might not have a choice.” He said.

Lightningstar nodded to his deputy. "I know." He sighed and shook his head. "Before you go, would you send Sunthroat and the others (all the cats with twolegplace experience) to my den?"

Ghostscreech nodded, “Of course. I’ll have them over right away.” He said, moving off to find everyone. He spotted Eclipsepaw by the apprentice’s den and headed towards her first.
Eclipsepaw looked up as Ghostscreech approached, ear flicking in curiosity. “Lightningstar wants to talk to you. Go ahead and head over to his den.” Ghostscreech said, nodding towards the leader’s den, “Some others will join you soon.” He added before moving off to find the others.
Eclipsepaw gave a slight nod, looking over at Lightningstar’s den. She had to wonder what he had to talk to her about, and who else was going to be there for this meeting?

Featherfoot padded curiously after Ghostscreech, having been summoned by the deputy to report to Lightningstar’s den to speak. He slipped in quietly, looking curiously at the leader. “Did something else happen? Ghostscreech said you wanted to talk about something important?”
Frostmoon watched with a flicker of unease as cats were being called into Lightningstar’s den. Was this another attack patrol? Would they succeed where she had failed? For a short second, she wanted to just run to her mother and ask her how to fix this…but she knew she was a grown Warrior. She couldn’t just cry like a kit.

Ravenshade hung awkwardly by the entrance to the den, unsure what to do.
Lightningstar looked up as the cats entered the den. “Ghostscreech has suggested sending patrols to the two legged place to hunt. Since you all have the most experience there I was wondering what your thoughts were.”

Leopardfrost gave Ravenshade a nudge into Lightningstar’s den, going in herself after. She blinked in surprise at the suggestion to hunt in the twolegplace, “Well, there are quite a few abandoned twoleg den’s that prey like to hide in.” She mewed thoughtfully.
Eclipsepaw nodded in agreement to what Leopardfrost said, “Especially in the cold season.” She added.

“The twolegs have hollow shiny stumps that attract alot of prey to them too. Suki and Indigo taught me how to hunt rats and mice that way. They’re like tiny Carrionplaces.” Featherfoot added in, looking thoughtful as he remembered his time there. “Some cats become kittypets simply because twolegs will give them entire dens to eat mice for them. I never liked the collars, but they were some of the plumpest cats I’d ever seen. They would share during the colder moons.”

Lightninstar wrinkled his nose lightly at the idea of hunting in a Carrionplace and eating rats. Now wasn't the time for predjudices however as the clan needed prey. "Is it safe?" He asked, remembering Greaser's gang. "There may be prey but we don't need to be battling other cats constantly for it."
Ravenshade spoke up softly." As long as you stay close to the forest." She looked at the leader. "Rogue gangs live much closer to the center."

Sunthroat curled his tail over his paws, the tip tapping lightly as he thought, “Hunting in the twolegplace might be the only option we have. With Sunningrocks gone, we could very well starve this leafbare.” He said, a slight frown on his face.

She looked at the leader. "Rogue gangs live much closer to the center." “The Shadow Cats…” Featherfoot shook his head quickly. “They roam deep in the Twolegplace, where the twolegnests tower closer to the sky and the grass is replaced by nothing but black and white stone. I was always told to keep out of that place, though I snuck a few peeks my last moon living there. I saw patrols of cats, kind of like the ones here…but they chased off or attacked any cat that got too close or didn’t ask to hunt in that spot. I remember running far, far away when one turned and looked at me. His eyes were so blue, like ice! Pelt as black as the night sky. It looked like he could stare into my soul. I was hardly old enough to be considered a Warrior at that time, it really did spook me how that tom stared at me.” The memory stained in his mind before something suddenly clicked in his head. “Funny enough, Ravenshade, remembering those cats, that particular one kind of looked like you.” He commented thoughtfully. “Though most black cats look similar, I reckon.”

Ravenshade flinched at Featherfoot's comment. Of course that cat looked like her. She looked at the den wall, wondering whether or not to speak. She sighed slightly before finally giving in. "It was probably my brother." She mumbled. "We were apart of the gang in the center of the city."
Lightningstar thought for a few moments before nodding. "Then we will send patrols on the outskirts, keeping close to the forest away from the groups in the center of the twolegplace." He spoke. "Each patrol will have at least 6 cats and at least 2 cats must be cats with twolegplace experience who will lead the patrols." He spoke. "No apprentices will go to the twolegplace, only Eclipsepaw due to her previous experience."

Featherfoot blinked with surprise at Ravenshade’s words. She had been one of those cats? A flutter of curiousity filled him, but he held himself back from bombarding her with questions. Instead, he sighed with relief. “That’s good. I admittedly don’t think Tigerpaw should be introduced too much to Twolegplace. It’s not really a place for Clan cats sometimes, and he’s still eager to prove himself. Too eager, as most are that young.” He swished his tail lightly. “We won’t let you down, then.”

Leopardfrost bumped her shoulder against her friend’s, giving her a comforting smile. She knew how hard it was for Ravenshade to leave the twolegplace, and was still grateful that she had come to ThunderClan with her.
Eclipsepaw flicked her ear, giving a nod. She just hoped her wounds would heal quickly, she wanted to serve her new clan to the best of her abilities.

"Ok, Featherfoot, Leopardfrost, and Ravenshade, you will take a patrol after the clan meeting to the twolegplace and see what you can find." Lightningstar spoke. "I'm going to address the clan about this and sunningrocks, then you may go. Sunthroat will help you get a patrol together." He nodded to his old friend and deputy. "Eclipsepaw, you can join them when Peachdapple says you are healed enough to start going on patrols."

Featherfoot dipped his head, inwardly a little excited to see all of his friends in the Twolegplace again. Would Fiona have another litter of kits? Would Jackel the old hoot still be as cranky as ever? He glanced over to Ravenshade and Leopardfrost.

Featherfoot nodded quickly, slipping from the den and giving Frostmoon a look of sympathy. “Lightningstar will talk to you now…and if it means anything to you, it wasn’t your fault, what happened.”
Frostmoon did not respond with her words, merely nodding slowly and slipping past the black and white tom, hesitating at the entrance of the den, before she steeled herself and slipped into the den. Her head was bowed lightly as she murmured. “I…can give you the full report, Lightningstar.”

Leopardfrost looked over at Ravenshade and Featherfoot, giving a nod at the two others. She stood up, following the others out of the den.
Eclipsepaw left Lightningstar’s den, heading back to the apprentice’s den. She was lost in thought, thinking about the twolegplace. She hadn’t been back since she had left with Lightningstar and Sunthroat, it was going to be strange seeing it again. She wonders if she would run into her siblings or mother again.
Sunthroat looked at Lightningstar, dipping his head. “We just need to make it through leafbare. Once the prey returns fully, we can stop going to the twolegplace.” He said before leaving, giving a nod to Frostmoon as he left.

Lightningstar nodded his head as Sunthroat left. If he believed it to be a good idea, he trusted his old friend. He then looked towards Frostmoon. "Yes, go on." He spoke, staying relaxed. He could see she was nervous and didn't want to make her more so.

He could see she was nervous and didn't want to make her more so. “We were going to check the borders, and…When we approached Sunningrocks, Riverclan had already begun to mark the rocks. It…I should have kept the patrol hidden and turned back to get reinforcements. My patrol wasn’t fit for an outnumbered fight, but we…I didn’t want Riverclan to think that Thunderclan would ever show their bellies. So I ordered the attack, and…” Frostmoon hesitated, before she swallowed and forced herself to look at steady and formal as possible. “It was my fault that the patrol lost the battle. I acted rashly, and they won because of it…My clanmates are injured because of it. But they all only followed my order, so the fault is all mine, not theirs.”

Lightningstar nodded slightly as she spoke. “I think most any warrior in the clan would have done what you did.” He spoke. “It is not your fault we lost.” He moved to touch his tail tip to her shoulder. “It’s unfortunate Riverclan chose this time to make us weaker. I had hoped after the fire things would be quiet.” He sighed lightly. “But no matter, thank you for your report.”
