Slatesight approached the two with a nod. He cleared his throat. "Uh... I hope I'm not interrupting anything," he said awkwardly. "Mapleleaf's kits have been born."
Nightpaw was resting after training with Yarrowcloud.

"I'm your big brother. I'm always fine when you and anyone needs me to be...I just have to hope Featherkit didn't feel too much pain..." Yarrowcloud felt a lottle better now, glad that Silentflare was beginning to see him as a brother again. He settled in the water, the formerly young and flawless tom now scarred and strong and older. He sighed.
"Do you think they'd let uncles mentor their neices or nephews?" He asked off-handedly. Bloomkit did seem to like Silentflare as much as Morningbloom did.
Hornetstrike puffed his chest, inwardly feeling an instinctive spark of dominance.
"Hmph. I could take anyone in battle." He assured.

(Ooh  ) Whiteblaze tensed when Slatesight walked over. She looked away, hearing what Slatesight said. "That's great." She wondered if Hornetstrike was going to play this game.. |

Hornetstrike looked at Slatesight, before looking at Whiteblaze with a look. If they were to see the kits, he'd want her there to show the clan that if they assumed he was the father, he certainly was not with Mapleleaf at all. Perhaps under Whiteblaze's eye he could stage a realistic dispute with Mapleleaf to assure the clan there was no suspicious activity.
"Should we go see them?" He asked.

Silentflare looked at him. "Just hope he didn't feel much." He shook his head, watching him in the water. He sighed softly, his black pelt making him hot in the sun. "Maybe. I don't know. Ask Lightningstar." He shrugged slightly. He didn't spend that much time with his nieces and nephews, feeling weird around them cause he didn't get along with Yarrowcloud.

Slatesight gave a sympathetic look at Whiteblaze, hoping she wasn't too hurt by this act. He flicked his tail, leading Hornetstrike to the nursery. "Peachdapple? Mapleleaf?"

Hornetstrike flattened his ears, eyes wide as he saw Whiteblaze look upset. He wanted to go with her.
"Whiteblaze, please, you know I only care for you, ok? I'm gonna clear things up and then nobody else matters, ok?" He begged, slowly moving to follow Slatesight. As he entered the den, he frowned. One looked alot like Slatesight, and one looked like him. Hm, well, the Dark Grey kit was easy to hide, Hornetstrike and Diamondheart and Quailsong all had grey in their fur. He put on his best acting, simply looking at the kits.
Peachdapple had a questioning look.
"So...does this mean the kits do indeed have a father?" She asked sharply.
"I don't know. Mapleleaf certainly didn't seem keen on telling me things. For all I know these kits could be Nightfang's or Silentflare or any other toms." He gave a razor fast wink to Mapleleaf, faking his anger.

Mapleleaf was busy watching the kits. She looked up when Hornetstrike entered. She narrowed her eyes slightly. "I didn't tell you because they're not you're. They're not any toms." She looked back down at their kits. "They won't have a father because they don't need one." She didn't want to hurt Hornetstrike for her mistakes. She didn't want him to be hurt or chastised for not being a father.

Slatesight took a step back, pretending to have nothing more to do with the kits. His heart ached knowing how much was in store for the little kits...
Magpiekit awoke, letting out a short wail.
Plumkit was sleeping by herself.
Aspenkit yawned, awake but falling asleep.

'Good.' Hornetstrike thought, inwardly cheering that Mapleleaf was playing along. He acted again, eyes sharp.
"Your independence was always so strong, I have no qualms with how you raise your kits...but I'm happy with Whiteblaze, and I can't abandon her to claim to father kits that might not even be mine...no...I can help, I can hunt and clean like I always do anyway...but if you want to raise them alone, it may be best anyway." He sighed. He looked at them and nodded.
"What did you name them?" He asked.
Peachdapple looked a bit frazzled but knew it was none of her business.

Hornetstrike noticed the true, not faked emotion in her eyes. He would not wish spite on anyone, even her. He lied, but his eyes were truly sympathetic.
"Everything will work out. For everyone. A clan cares for eachother...they're good names." He nodded, waving his tail only once for the kits, itching to return to Whiteblaze...

Shadepaw sat alone in camp. He wondered if Sunflare would visit him tonight.
Silentflare was out hunting by Sunningrocks. He had caught a vole already.
Nightfang wondered where Mouseshade was.

Mouseshade had just returned from a hunting patrol (totally making this up) carrying two voles in her jaws setting them down. She stretched shaking her head yawning having been up early this morning.
Berryfrost was resting by the nursery the she-cat rarely left camp to be honest sticking close to help any queen or kit. She was too soft for the warrior life.
Snowpaw was resting in the apprentices den her body was still very tired from everything she had gone through.
Glasspaw was busy practicing her moves she looked over towards her brother flicking her ears, "Hey do you want to practice with me?" she asked Shadepaw smiling.
Burnstrike flicked his ears back and forth the tom had seemed slightly off for the past few days like something was bugging the older warrior.

Nightfang spotted his mate. He purred before walking over. "Nice catches." He complemented her, stopping infront of her. "Guess what? I've been cleared for warrior duties."
Shadepaw lifted his head to look at Glasspaw. "Alright." He agreed, walking over to his sister.
Lightningstar walked to the apprentices den. "Snowpaw." He called.
Silentflare returned to camp with his catches. He looked around for Berryfrost.

Mouseshade flicked her ears letting out a happy purr, "You have? Oh that's great news!" she spoke licking his cheek moving to nuzzle him. She was incredibly happy to hear that.
Glasspaw smiled looking at her brother, she really looked up to him. Her tail swished, "Ready whenever you are," she smirked crouching.
Snowpaw lifted her head and shakily stood up, "Yes Lightningstar?" she mewed letting out a soft cough.
Berryfrost stretched out in the sun letting out a soft purr.
(Need to bring Duskstar back hehe drama!)

Nightfang nodded his head, purring happily. "Yep. Noe we can go back to hunting and patrolling together." He nuzzled his mate happily. He was glad he was finally all healed up.
Shadepaw crouched down. He narrowed his eyes, trying to decided the best way to do then. He then charged her. When he got close her leaped up to tackled her.
"You ok?" Lightningstar asked his apprentice. He was rather worried about her.
Silentflare walked over to her. "Hey." He greeted her softly.
