Prologue Under the light of the new moon, a parade of cats strolled through the dark fields. Their starry pelts the only things betraying their presence at all. The amount of cats was enough to fill a clan or two, though they all came from one clan in particular. Some cats' forms were filled out, looking like they had when they were alive, however some were barely more than a whispered memory that showed the world through them.
The parade was following a newer member of their clan, the cat with the brightest pelt of them all, and therefore the most recent to have died. Behind trailed the rest of their clan, getting more and more transparent as they went until the entire parade had passed.
There were onlookers to this parade, those not of this clan. They watched in the dark, whispering in hushed voices about the passing cats. Soon enough, the curious voice of a kit stuttered out from the silence.
"Mother? Who are they? Where are they going?" The young kit asked in a nervous, yet curious, voice.
"Hush Lightkit. It's just Spiritclan's ancestors. They're going to a gathering." An elder cat soothed, snuggling up with the kit.
"Spiritclan? A gathering? But there is no moon, how can there be a gathering?"
"Well, do you see that cat in front? That cat was the previous leader of Spiritclan. They must've just recently passed, which means that the whole of their ancestors are gathering to give the new leader their name and lives. They work the best under the new moon, they aren't like us. They're an ancient clan. Now shush, my kit. It's time to sleep." The mother's voice was gentle but scolding as she settled in with her curious kit.

The parade of cats settled around a large cave, the newest member sitting close to a pool fed by a crystal stream. They sat with silent breaths and still bodies, waiting. It wasn't long until two figures joined them, their pelt lacking stars, an obvious give away that they were still living. ".. Owlspirit." The dark grey cat spoke to the newest member amongst the ranks of the starry cats.
Owlspirit dipped his head, his eyes bright with pride. "Hello, Ivysoul. Welcome, to the Beyond." He welcomed, getting up to touch a starry nose to the she-cat cold one."The Beyond.. I'm pleased to see you joined the Pure Spirits, though I couldn't have expected less. I'm ready to start, when you are, Owlspirit." They she-cat purred, the pale ginger cat next to her a little nervous.
"Fret not, Berryfoot. This is your first Summoning, and your first life giving, you'll do fine, just watch. Hopefully, you'll live to see your second." Owlspirit said gently, before he turned to a group of cats behind him. "Let us give Ivysoul her lives, and bring her closer to the Beyond with every piece of her." He called, then turned back to the grey she-cat. "This may be painful, please rest assured it's safe."

"Welcome, Ivyspirit, Leader of Spiritclan. Lead your clan in the pawprints of the Pure Spirits, and help those that stray back to our startlight." Owlspirit murmured as the grey cat got up, her body aching from the pain of receiving her lives. Bowing her head, her form faded slowly, along with Berryfoot's.
Owlspirit whispered before Ivyspirit's form was gone, his playful eyes turned cold and serious.
"Beware the predators, the snake and the bird, and look to salvation in the dappled moonlight to purify the spirits gone astray." Chapter One Chapter will go Here!! WIP! Chapter Two Chapter will go Here!! WIP! Chapter Three Chapter will go Here!! WIP! |
