(Yeah)
The door creaking was Arabella's wake up call. She forgot that she was in a dungeon until she woke up with an uncomfortable soreness in her neck. The guards stepped forward, the same two as all the other times and unlocked her cuff that held her to the wall. They tied the rope around her wrists, tighter this time and guided her out of the cell. They still pushed when she was going 'too slow' but she couldn't help it. She had the most uncomfortable night of her life. Instead of staying inside the castle however, the guards took her out to the town that surrounded the city. At least not too many people looked. She hoped it would stay that way, but hope was lost when she saw the place where they would hang her, publicly. *I can die in humiliation now* she thought bitterly. There was already a crowd gathered around. Shouting things at her and it took guards to stop them from throwing stones at Arabella. She would rather die by hanging than being stoned. The guards led her up the crudely made stairs and up to where the stool is that she would stand on until they would later take it away and she would be left there to suffocate. If Uriah was going to come, it would most likely be too late. The guards made her stand on the stool as the executioner, which had his face covered with a black cloth prepared the noose.

The raven circled the gallows, watching the girl as she was lead to her demise. She had lost her for a bit after her capture, but now she kept a close eye on her. This could be her death. The raven circled a little lower. And the boy. She had no idea what had happened to the boy. She hoped he hadn’t already been killed. They were obviously on the run when she had first found her. The raven should have noticed that. Now they were both about to die. Because of her inattentiveness. Because of her. Maybe she could change that. The raven made a lower circle, alighting gently on the gallows. Maybe she could help.

Uriah rode beside Brom on a horse from the stables he hadn't been removed from his position and he was taking his time to make up with Brom. The whole ride he had explained that Arabella had forced him to come with her, he had just been too afraid to speak up. She needed a guide and forced him to be one. Brom was skeptical at first, but after awhile, he began to trust Brom's word again. Uriah saw him smile once too. Dagger's twisted in his chest, knowing he was going to betray Brom again. The prince stopped as the platform came into view. "Time for the show, I guess." He said and swung off his horse. Uriah got down after him, taking both their horses to tie them up. He walked beside the prince as they approached the center of the city, many people cheered for Brom and Uriah felt disgusted with their happiness. Soon, he saw Arabella standing on the platform, he glanced at her briefly before continuing walking. Brom waved to everyone and looked at Arabella. "My people! This is what happens to traitors and spy's! This girl will die for her deeds and her kingdom will know, that we are not weak!" People cheered. Uriah leaned over and spoke in his ear. Brom smiled and silenced everyone. "We have a request."

Arabella looked irritably up at the bird that landed nearby *even the birds have come to watch me die.* In which hey most likely were not, they are birds after all, hlw would they know what's going on? The executioner put the noose around her neck, tightening it to make sure she shouldn't be able to slip through. Arabella knew though that this wouldn't be fast. People that were lighter in weight took a longer time to die from the gallows versus a fully grown person. So she should be up there long enough for the people around her to throw enough insults at her that would follow her into wherever she went after she died. Arabella gulped, a cold chill running down her spine, her stomach felt hollow, and she was shaking all over. But before the executioner can kick away the chair, they all heard Brom say they had a request, so he paused what he was doing but kept his foot on the stool

"My servant Brom, who was betrayed by this foreigner. He would like to get the honors of hanging her. I will grant that request." Brom motioned Uriah forward. He slowly walked up the steps, making eye contact with Arabella as he passed her. He looked at the executioner, who backed away. Uriah leaned close to Arabella. "Trust me." He whispered in her ear. At the same time he pushed a dagger in-between her hands so that it was sightless. He trusted that she could cut herself loose in a matter of seconds. He turned toward the crowd. "Ladies and gentlemen. We have had enough of these traitors in our country. This-this witch, tricked into working for her!" He glared at Arabella. He was only stalling so she could cut herself loose. "We will not see such treachery again." He stood behind her, placing his foot on the back of the stool. "I hope you die slowly." He growled and kicked the stool. The rope only held taunt for a second before Uriah had whirled and cut the rope with his own hidden weapon. They needed to make it to the horses now. The only probably, chaos had broken loose.

Arabella was able to cut the ropes that bound her hands together while Uriah spoke and when he kicked away the stool, that was the worst second of her life. Even though she wasn't up there long, the rope still cut into her throat. She grabbed Uriah's hand and sprinted to the horses. Having a sense of deja vu. Arabella ignored the guards running after them and the people throwing rocks and other things at them. She kicked her horse and sprinted off to another wooded area, different than the one they first went to. She didn't check if Uriah came with her, assuming he left and ran off elsewhere. He seemed determined to stick to his word of not traveling with her

The raven watched as tge boy pressed the weapon into his friend's hands.Clever boy, she thought. But you forget the chaos that will come with escape. It was a few minutes before the boy concluded his 'speech'. All the while, she lay in wait, tensed and ready. As soon as the boy finished speaking, he cut the girl loose. Quickly, the raven whirled into action. Leaping off of the gallows, she let out a cry. "KRAKARAKKK!" The bird quickly morphed into a much larger sooty grey eagle, and descended upon the first row of guards. "Go, children!" she cried, forcing the tongue of humans through her beak. "I will hold them off for now!" She rushed into the first man, ripping off his helmet with ease. It was only a few seconds more until his throat was sliced and the next one was before her. The eagle never looked back at the children, trusting they knew their way out. She hoped she could buy then enough time to escape safely.

Uriah stumbled after Arabella, trying to shield his head from the oncoming objects. Despite the best he did, something hit him, it sliced across his back, but didn't stick. A whip. The weapon of a Discipliner. He fell when it tangled around his feet. He looked up into the face of the man who held him in such contempt. Uriah grabbed his dagger that had fallen feet from him. The Discipliner slammed his foot on Uriah's arm, knocking the dagger away once more. "You will die like a dog, just like your mother." The man sneered. Uriah tried squirming out from under him, but it earned him another lash on the back. He screamed in agony, as old scars reopened. Uriah prepared himself for another blow, but the whip stopped in mid-air, grabbed by someone's hand. A brown haired prince looked down at him, his hand dripped with blood. "Run, please." Brom begged him. Uriah scrambled up, running as best he could manage. He thought he heard a bird squawking and noticed a giant bird, attacking guards. Uriah didn't have time to analyze it, he only knew that the bird seemed to be on their side. He climbed onto the horse and hunched over it, his back was unable to stay straight. He could just see Arabella's horse disappearing into the woods. He just hoped his horse would follow it.

Arabella looked back when she heard a bird speak in the language of humans. Humans! How was it possible? She didn't have time to ponder the thought, after going deep into the woods, the horse reared up on it's hind legs. Arabella, taken by surprise, fell off and onto her back. "You-" she was cut off when the horse began to neigh and cry out almost in panic. It ran off farther into the woods, leaving Arabella to walk on foot. Everything today had seemed so unreal. Is this normal around here? She was only left to guess

(Sorry, this'll be my last post before I have to sleep. If you want to, continue without me. I'll be on tommorrow.)
The eagle bashed another two guards' heads together with a satisfying clang. She noticed the boy was in some danger, and was about to rush over to help, but someone else was there, and her attention was spent trying to keep track of all the people rushing her. She grabbed a guards tunic and flung him back into the oncoming rush of humans threatening to overwhelm her. The eagle let out another cry, beating her wings strongly to gain some altitude. Surely the children would be safe by now... right? She chanced a quick glance backward, and only just caught the boy's horse disappearing into the woods. Not enough time... With a quick clack of her beak, the eagle descended back into the fray, trying to ignore the several cuts and bruises across her body.

(Me too actually and tomorrow I will be super busy as I am showing my dog.)
Uriah's horse sped after the one in front of it. Uriah hung low on it's neck, feeling blood flow out of his wounds. Tears of pain stung his eyes and he could feel himself slowly slipping of his horse. Uriah glanced around, trying to locate Arabella before he fell but he couldn't see her. Suddenly, her horse flew by, an empty saddle bouncing on its back. Uriah tumbled off his horses back, landing on his chest thankfully. It still hurt nonetheless. "Ara-Arabella?" He managed out, spitting out dirt. His vision was coming in and out in waves, making it hard for him to focus. How many times had the Discipliner struck him. Three he thought.

Arabella felt a sharp pain on her back when she stood up, but she managed to get up. She saw Uriah near by get knocked off of his horse, but there also blood stains on his back, "Uriah!" She went over to him and helped him sit up against a tree. Hopefully it wouldn't hurt his back, "Are you okay?" She put her arms around his neck and drew him into a hug. Hopefully he didn't think of it as odd, "Thank you." She closed her eyes for a few moments before letting go. Arabella helped him shift a bit so she could look at his scars and new lashes. Her eyes had a couple tears in them, she wished she would never see Uriah in any physical harm.

Uriah cringed when the bark touched his back. He sighed when Arabella pulled him into a hug, glad that she had found him. Despite the stinging pain in his muscles, her hugged her back. His vision was clearing a little, but pain was making it clouded. He heard Arabella say thank you. "You're welcome." He managed out, in a pained breath, glad that they had had made it out alive. He might not have if Brom hadn't helped him.

Arabella lifted up Uriah's shirt to check the wounds from the lashes. She touched one of the wounds to see how deep it had cut into him, and thankfully they weren't too deep. Not exactly shallow however. She took off her cloak and began wiping off the blood so she can cleary see the wound. Arabella wasn't concerned that it was covered in blood now, this was Uriah's life after all. "I have some bandages, but I don't have any ointment to put on them." She reached into her pant pocket, and took out a roll of bandages. "I'm sorry if it stings." She apologized in advance, knowing it would hurt since they were fresh. Arabella ripped some off some of the bandages and slowly, and as gentle as possibe, began to put them over the wounds, making sure they were secure.

Uriah felt the breeze on his back and it stung. He bit his lip when Arabella touched the wound. "The Discipliner got decided he would take another shot at me before I got away." He words tapered of into a groan as Arabella attempted to clean the wound. He hoped she wouldn't pay attention to the many scars scattered across his back. He looked ahead as she mentioned bandages. "That will work and there's no getting around the sting. "I don't get it." He sucked in air through his teeth. "I wouldn't have got away if Brom wouldn't have stopped him..." Why would Brom help him if he knew Uriah was betraying him?

Arabella paused for a second when Uriah mentioned Brom, "Wait...Brom saved you?" She was dumbfounded but continued with yer work. Aware that Uriah was in pain when she did so. She put one more bandage on the last wound and fixed his shirt again. Arabella shifted from where she was sitting so that she was sitting next to Uriah, looking up at him. Why would Brom help him? He commited treason by helping her in the other town, and now commited an even higher degree of treason by helping her escape from execution.

Uriah nodded. "The Discipliner was going to hit me again but Brom caught part of the whip...then he begged me to run." Uriah paused, letting the memory sink in. "I don't understand why a prince would help a traitor, no less a servant." Uriah said as his shirt slid back over his back. The bandages were nice. Uriah could feel the stickiness of his blood soaked shirt, he would need a new one. He closed his eyes and then looked at Arabella. "Are you okay?"

"I don't know anymore...everything for the past few days have felt so unreal. I don't know what to think anymore. I still can't get over the fact that I was about to die just about a half hour ago, and you getting beaten..." Arabella wasn't sure what else to say. How would she say anything? Now everything was so complicated, including her emotions. There was one thing she did understand though, was how she felt around Uriah. She Arabella felt comfortable around him, and safe too. Even though she was kidnapped, she wouldn't have escaped death without Uriah. Who else would risk their neck for her outside of her family?

"I couldn't let them kill you, not after coming as far as did with you." He left out the part about her lieing deciding now wasn't the time to bring it up. "Brom's father will be angry with him. I cannot returb to the palace." Uriah said, looking towards the edge of the woods. How was he going to get anywhere when he was in no condition to travel. He already told Arabella he wasn't going with her, wherever she went after this.

"So, then what will you do? You are in no way capable of travel right now until you heal, and...where would you go?" Arabella did not mean to sound rude in case that's how Uriah took it. She did tell him the truth though, he can't travel by himself. Uriah might just end up being killed by something or someone that found him broken already. He would be an easy target Although, despite all this, Arabella realized, she hasn't properly apologized yet. And since she is the one that was pretty much responsible for his beating she should go ahead and do so now, "I know I lied to you, but please understand that I really did, and still do, care about you. And that I didn't do this out of spite, I must follow the laws and commands placed by the king. I really do feel sorry about everything I've done, and I want your forgiveness than anything imaginable. Because Uriah, meeting you was the best thing that has ever happened to me. And I do mean it. Not many things in my life have stood out or meant something to me, but meeting you has. I hope you'll understand." Arabella sighed, and brushed her hair out of her face, "I'll go now, you most likely want to travel alone." Arabella stood back up from where she was sitting, but did not grab her cloak, or look back. Instead, she headed straight, as she had memorized some of the maps by now and knew that the next country she must go to without a choice, was straight ahead. She was supposed to stay here longer, but now she is a criminal in this country and most likely had a price on her head. Arabella might as well leave now, as no one else seems to want her around anyways. She blinked back tears from her eyes, and tried to keep what tears she could back. And once she knew that Uriah was out of sight, she let the tears come down without a sound and just kept walking. Maybe she will find someone like Uriah somewhere else, but she knew in her heart, that she won't. Hopefully Uriah really did see the good in her and maybe, just maybe, he will forgive her.

(Awesome)
"I don't know somewhere. I just can't stay here." Uriah leaned forward and his back protested, reinforcing the fact that he couldn't really travel, but what other choice did he have? They would search the woods at some point and then what? Back to the palace. No, he couldn't have it. He listened as Arabella started to apologize or state why she did what she did. He shook his head. "You should have told me, I betrayed my own prince without even knowing it, I only knew that you made me feel like I was a human for once. Like I was something. Bella, you gave me hope for something greater and that I will never regret." He looked at her and watched her stand. He tried to call out to her, to want her to come back, but the hurt from what had happened made him bite his tongue. He watched her go with a pained look on his face. He wanted hee to be happy, very happy, but he wanted to be the person walking beside her, not sitting by a tree with a broken body.

(*in spongebob narrator voice* one month or so later)
Arabella's total travel time from when she started was 3 months. 3 long months, without a break of going home. It was eat, sleep, travel, take notes nonstop. With no contact with her family, friends, or news from the king, life had been lonely. She missed Uriah, but not as much as the first week since she left him. She has tried to push him away from her thoughts, knowing she was not likely to see him again. Arabella would have wrote to him but that might have given away her position to Brom and his army. She knew very well that even though she was elsewhere, she knew that she was close to the border and could be taken back. So now, Arabella was still going along by foot, and with only one person to care for now, she could splurge a bit with her money. She was headed to a woodland village, which hopefully had an inn. Arabella had gotten used to walking very long distances now, as she has gotten stronger overtime. So she was not bothered by the 50 mile distance between towns, (obviously she wouldn't walk that in one day) as this country was still developing. Her clothes were still kept fairly neat, as she tried to look presentable, but she felt odd without her cloak. Her sword was exposed and it made villagers wary of her. Arabella hadn't changed much though, her hair was still short as she would cut it once it started going passed her jaw line. Although, she has gotten an inch or two taller, not that anyone would notice unless they were related to her. Upon approaching the village, Arabella headed over to a small tavern, hoping to find some food there. The last thing she ate was boar and she was not a fan of wild game.

After Uriah was able to get to the next town, the servant had found someone with a little sense of pity and worked for them. He stayed with this family until his back was fully healed and he was able to find more work. It had taken two weeks to finally scrap up some work, but now he was able to buy things with his own money and he was able to clothe himself. The once servant was even able to buy his own horse that took him from place to place. He never stayed anywhere long though, who knows if there was a bounty out for him. He looked much different then when he had left the palace. For once he was clean and the good food had finally allowed his frame to fill out properly and muscle to develop. He dressed in nice clothes and not scrap. Right now he was riding into a town, hood concealing his face. He didn't normally come this close to Brom's kingdom, but he needed some more work. His tanned face was concealed by his cloak, making him less likely to be recognized. Uriah stopped when he came across an inn\tavern. He had a better chance at laying low here, he touched his sword for reassurance, at least he could defend himself now. Uriah dismounted his horse, paying a servant boy who looked like he could use a good meal.
